Fun fact: This is the fastest rhythm humans can understand before it becomes impossible to group the pulses together as rhythms. 400 more bpm and it just becomes a solid wall of noise so fast it becomes a pitch.
Hi Embla, yes this is the last one because 100 ms by beat is in theory close to the threshold of rhythmic perception. So there's not much point into going higher than 600 BPM for a metronome.
I have read this somewhere, but honest to dog: this sounds weird to me as I can perceive rhythms in frequencies waaaay beyond 600 BPM. In fact a couple of friends of mine played around with this years ago in my friend's studio. We played fast BPMs and recorded ourselves clapping bars. We were three guys and all of us managed to clap (in 4/4) the perceived 150 bmp bar where 1200 bmp eighth notes were played, two of us could swing to even higher frequencies. If I hear a metronome click at 75 BPM, I can generate a 1200 BPM rhythm by blowing my young against my palatum. I am pretty sure that this is an ability that can be enhanced quite easily by practice.
This BPM is also actually the highest survived heartrate in a human being!! They were at 600 BPM for about 20 seconds and made a full recovery (After a cardiac arrest)
This is the approximate rate of fire for a large number of machine guns, including the Maxim gun and the Kalashnikov. The MG42 fired twice as fast, at 1200 rpm. Strange how this is such a diverse learning resource of a video.
Every tick sounds every 100 miliseconds, that means that every second has 10 ticks. This is also a 120bpm metronome with 1/5 snap. A great example of this are the games with decimal cooldowns (1.0 > 0.9 > 0.8 ...)
There is 420 videos of this, from this channel I love it, the, WORST sounds, I could EASILY fall esleep to, me seeing this video: ARE YOU CHALLENGING ME??
This is the heart rate of small birds at rest. Goes up to 1200 while flying I have this theory that if aliens have heart beat rates close to ours 40-200 they might find our music relatable and vice versa
Thanks, just finished practising a song using your 1 BPM metronome so thought I'd ramp up the speed a bit.
Lol
