The happiest and most welcoming people you could ever meet are living this lifestyle. Living freely on your own terms and not being bogged down by mortgages, rent, bills and a job and co workers you don't really like. What a wonderful life!
@@HimmelbergerBus gotcha. For me, I think it'd be perfect to use mainly as a dog room (I've been considering designing a bunk style kennel, but a basement room looks way roomier!) but also have the option to use it as a guest bedroom for people who wake up at different times and don't want to have to shuffle by the person sleeping on the couch in the morning or whatever.
This was our first skoolie event, we were in the bottom corner with the red and black splatter paint bus. We weren't quite ready for tours this year, we have solar and electric and everything electrical done but there's so much more we're wanting to finish up. We tried using pallet wood and anything recycled that we could when we started the build in 2019 but after a few remodels were down to a few cabinets and part of the ceiling out lol. Not quite where we want it but maybe the next meet up we can get a few tours through. Thank you for doing this video, we didn't get to take any tours really at skoolie u.p. , we were working on finishing screens cuz the mosquitoes were pretty bad and kinda got busy meeting everyone and what not. Definitely gonna give you guys a follow and maybe see you down the road.
Good to see you found us! Jen (my wife) loved your paint. It reminded me of the 90s paint splatter bikes all the cool kids had . Bugs weren’t too bad for us, we wanted to add screens but didn’t. Instead I opted to blow air in through our screened roof vents. Then the air would blow out our bottom windows. Keep working on it, you’ll get there, one day at a time.
Nice video. I didn't get a tour of yours while I was there but I'm sure you have it on your channel somewhere so I will take a look. What a fun time. Can't wait til next year!
To solve making the bed issue I saw on another build that they found a zip up comforter online, it's the only one I've seen and it looks super neat. I'm sure if you search online you can find it.
Great little meet up Shawn thanks for taking the time to show us some other creative buses out there one thing in common we all love buses and seeing other folks living the dream. Hoping to be at the next one down the road. Thanks buddy.
That is a beautiful conversion. Looks spacious and wow even with 4 beds. I think that is very clever and really nice but we didn’t see about your toilet and shower.
The Wanderer I think. I don’t have much more, it was very busy. The basement bedroom didn’t have much more than a mattress. It was a pretty quick build, I think two months, so most of it was in the main living area
I thought it seemed like an odd place for it, but didn't think about it much more. Care to enlighten those of us that may not fully understand why its a "no-no"? 🤗
That certainly will make it smell better. If I understand the problem correctly, the issue is with the waste breaking down in the absence of oxygen. The stinky bacteria can thrive with no oxygen, vs the not stinky kind need it. Improving ventilation has helped us quit a bit.

I LOVE Malcolm's bus and and wife. Great energy.

I wish you had shown the downstairs bedroom on the coach bus!!
They hadn’t done much. Was the empty bay and an air mattress. Still nice to have for sure.

"That would suck to be building right now" Sheesh does that hit me like a gut punch. Great Video, glad I found you all.
I wanted to see the bedroom in the basement of the first bus .
I like all those colors.
The variety of designs inside and out was wonderful to see.

Thanks for sharing the cool bus tours. I saw a few of the busses because I was there and witnessed it live and in Living Color.💯👌

What’s the first bus name?? So we can see a full tour of the basement room..

Hot water heater is a huge no no under the sink

I would love to go to these kind of things...my wife not so much :(
There was bingo, Craft time (tie dye towels, they looked cool) , beach day(s) was fun all around. Jen loved it.
I'm interested in the mci bus in your first tour. Do you know who they are? Are they on social media?
Those are some big glasses. (Windows)
How do someone get notified of all these skoolie events?
Join the Skoolie Swarm FB group, that seems to be the hub.
Michigan lower here.
I love all of them can't pick a favorite. Who is the lady I see in every bus?? Must be this guy's wife. .
Yup :-)
@@HimmelbergerBus she just seemed like she was in the way 😄
How do you balance your wheels on your MCI? looks like you guys had fun there !
Balancing beads as of now. Not thrilled with them.
@@HimmelbergerBus Some one stole all my lead wheel weights off all my wheels!!!!! i am pissed off thats why i asked about this
Bigfoot country?
Use potting soil ..merical grow'''
If you have an accident those knives are come forward and get you if the crash doesn't.
Wood? I would have made everything out of plastic!
Some add essential oils for a smelly toilet.

I would absolutely not have a composting toilet !Bad smell😢
That last guy looked pretty sketchy.
Why is he the one who looked sketchy..just wondering 🤔
