I took a flight on the airline even locals refuse to fly - Avia Traffic Company of Kyrgyzstan, to find out if it's really as dangerous as people say.

Excelent Bald and Bankrup impression, you even went all out with the hairdo.
It isnt a bald and bankrupt impression if he doesn't exploit poor women for sex.
@@-TK- wait what has happened? Never heard of this before.
😂😂
@@-TK- smh it's not like he put a gun to their heads...stop being a white knight
Only needed a mosaic!
Noel is definitely the living proof of how incredibly safe air travel is.
Literally the reason I'm watching more content like this so it's very reassuring
No kidding. I started flying a lot in the late 80’s and into the 90’s the most dangerous decade in American air travel. Now can you fly everywhere with no incidents. I became afraid of flying for that reason and I worked in Aviation. I loved the idea of flying but every time I went somewhere there was an accident the week before on the same aircraft type I was flying on. I started thinking my time was up
Or a proof of how lucky he is 😅
I kind-of agree, but he is as tall and pale and white and seemingly English-speaking as me (and I also have few troubles). I worry about people who appear different in various places.
I loved the nervous laugh between Noel and taxi driver when he mentioned about the Kyrgyzstan plane crashing
The Taxi Driver is the real Star of this episode 😂
He was awesome! And also trying to hawk his services if we do a UA-camr event there some time 😂
Lolz I thought you were Gary Cahill, I got my hopes up
Like both your you tube video's
How come his comment is from 3 days ago when this video was posted 2 hours ago ? 🤔 there is early access youtube thing ?
@@mikehouqe8634 really, is all you can think of is homophobia. You should be ashamed
The fact that UA-camrs do watch their fellow creators who are slightly adjacent to them (Noel is a flight reviewer, and Bald is more of a history/adventure/video essayist) and shout them out like this in references is so rewarding to me. Like, that’s cool.
Dude you killed me with the bald and bankrupt thing. That was right on!!!!!
8:04 Those are "Samsas." The Central Asian version of the samosa. They're found throughout Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
And Kazakhstan! :)
I thought samosas were deep-fried, those are baked. To me they look more like sfiha, an almost identical Syrian/Lebanese pastry (even down to the triangular shape) that's very popular here in my country (Brazil) due to intense Syrian and Lebanese immigration in the late 19th/early 20th century. The only thing is that in the Levant they're usually stuffed with ground lamb meat, but since lamb is rather rare and expensive here, they're usually made with ground beef instead. But we have a deep-fried delicacy that's really very close to samosas. It's called "pastel" (stress on the second syllable) and attributed to Chinese immigrants, though for some reason it's the Japanese that dominate the market for them.
@@goytabr The Central Asian ones are deep-fried, and can be very greasy! They are slightly more crisp than samosas but they are definitely fried.
@@goytabr They are a bit like pasteis too (I have lived in both Kazakhstan and Brazil, strangely enough, so I am familiar with both!)
Yes
I enjoy watching your videos! I'm in a wheelchair and not able to fly on commercial aircraft, but your vids allow me to experience what flying is like. And I also take virtual trips on Google Earth, sometimes getting travel inspiration by your adventures! Keep it up!
I am saddened while you say you are in wheel chair. Be in full of positive spirits. I pray for you.
@@saravanankesavan9290 I appreciate it! But I don't let it stop me from living life!
@@naytaylor3509 strap a car engine too it and drag race cars 🎉
Just for a second I thought you were going to show us a Soviet sink. The Soviet café was nice though. Bald would approve.
I read this in his voice 😂😂
That guy giving you the stink eye was epic. Also, the taxi driver "Don't crash! Hahahahahaha! Haha!"
0:52 bruh the Bald and Bankrupt moment is hilarious 😂
I have flown on this aircraft to Tiruchirappalli International Airport. This was the second A320 delivered to Air Lanka. The LTTE sprayed her with T-56 rounds shortly after the rebranding took place. Visited her after the attack and I was reduced to tears. Glad to see that she is still flying. This brings back so many childhood memories. Long-live 4R-ABB!
The taxi drivers laugh was great😂😂😂
I love the looks Noel gets from people when filming, it really is amusing 😂
That Asiatic lady in the seat next to him was dreaming of a Western man to carry her away from her Communist hellscape.....but don't they all....?
@@carrisasteveinnes1596 starting of the video that lady was sleeping in a funny way 😄
@@carrisasteveinnes1596 of course they do 😂😂😂
@Ann Hanover “human sewage” wow... you are a horrific individual.
@@michaelf9243 it’s really not that deep .You sound like are just hating to me .
You gotta visit Kyrgyzstan again to have a few of those strong beers with the taxi driver! He was awesome 😂
I have a weird obsession with obscure countries no one really pays attention to. Kyrgyzstan is one of them. Always wanted to go. The only thing stopping me is the fact that it's prohibitively expensive, with multiple layovers.
Where are you from? 🙃 just curious.

I know I’m digging an old section, but it’s usually $1k roundtrip with Turkish Airlines from SFO. Beautiful country, incredibly cheap living cost
@@davidkim1906 I'm guessing that one has a layover in Istanbul? Either way, that's worth taking a look, so thank you!
@@Taco1011 Yeah i went their from Sydney Australia a month ago and it cost me around $2k but i booked it with 1 month Notice.
I had a layover in Bangkok & Tashkent.
Omg I keep confusing Noel Phillips and Bald and Bankrupt because I am subscribed to both, it took me a WHILE to realize he was imitating Bald and Bankrupt 😂
I at least don't mistake them both haha
I didn’t hear him say B and B at first. But I knew it was that lol
Solving tea 😂
My goodness this was a strong video. By far one of my favourite ones so far. Thanks Noel! Loved it!
From the beer to the taxi to the red square, it felt like a proper trip :).
Thank you so much!
Bald & Bankrupt impersonation is excellent. Loved it. Those Russian babushka...
13:28 - pretty sure that bloke behind you is plotting your imminent demise 🤔
lol
I was born in Bishkek. As a kid I often spend the Summer in Kyrgystan in the 90s to mid 2000s. Till the early 2000s you could even fly directly from Frankfurt am Main to Bishkek on the old TU-154 Tupolevs. :)
When you mouthed what the f***. I laughed really hard! Great videos as always!
Glad you enjoyed
That pisstake at the start was hilarious
The pastry is called samsa (in Russian - самса)
@Ann Hanover Central Asian samsa was introduced to the Indian subcontinent in the 13th or 14th century by traders from Central Asia.
@Ann Hanover Yup the great thing about samosas is that almost every culture across the old world has their own regional variation on them, and they were brought to the new world fairly early as well. The US and Japan were some of the last places for them to become widely available, as most of the rest of the holdouts got them via the British, Portuguese, and Dutch Empires, but they've been part of the cuisines of most countries closer to the equator for hundreds or even 1000+ years via the trade routes of middle eastern and south asian empires.
They're not even originally from India, but we associate them with India since the various cultures of the subcontinent were the largest and most enthusiastic consumers of them, and the British Empire brought them from India to most of the English-speaking world.
Doesn't do his homework before visiting places.
I'm loving the Bald and Bankrupt impression!!! I love your vlogs beyond the flight reviews
The taxi driver made such an effort to have a conversation and have a bit of banter even though his English wasn't brilliant nor his first language! Lovely guy!
When you did the Bald and Bankrupt segment it had me in stitches... lol
14:37 as soon as he said ‘airport attack’ the woman next to him opened her eyes haha she was like HOLD UP
The Bald & Bankrupt impersonation was amazing lol
You said "after surviving an attack" and your neighbors eyes popped open 👀👀👀👀 🤣🤣🤣
I am so impressed with your videos! They're a real lifeline for me they cheer me up so much!

Excellent video! I want to try that beer!!! Did you by chance catch the registration of that passenger 747 next to the cargo one when you were taxing out? Thanks again Noel and can’t wait for the next one!

Top man Noel, I'm a Derby man myself but now living in Romania.
There's a cold beer waiting in Bucharest for you next time you're in this part of the world!

Noel where do you find these cool taxi drivers...he's like "why go to Switzerland and struggle where for the same money you can be a king in
That iphone tag is so useful for bagage, i've never heard of anyone use it for that before
That homage to Ben ( Bald & Bankrupt) was brilliant! Thanks Noel!
How you feel about St. Basil's is how I felt about the Hagia Sophia. I dreamed about that building from the moment I learned of it as a teenager. Finally, five years ago, I got to enter the most beautiful building in the world.
Awesome trip report. 11% beer can take down a notch any fears one might have :)
11% is only 4% in European strength, NO idea why they are different Alcohol strength Units around the world.
@@UnbelievableEricthegiraffe Interesting. Learned something new today :)
That's not alcohol content, it must be malt.
It is a percentage of malt extract in the wort. Traditional Pilsner is 12% so it is around 4.5%, they usually are from 4.4 to 5.2%. 11 is a nice middle ground between watery 10% and full bodied 12.
Your Bald And Bankrupt impression was spot on !! hahaha loved it.
Slightly buzzed Noel is fun to watch
0:41 was watching this on my ps4, grabbed my phone to say that was absolute great content
Great report!! I can share your feelings of nostalgia. I recall visiting Berlin as a kid when it was in the East. Years later I returned to the unified city. Wonderful. Would be nice to see that pic of you on the school trip!!
14:12 sleeping beauty next to you loved your suggestion of food service!
A shirt that’s sure to send any proper avgeek into convulsions 😂 lol that B&B impression is spot-on hahaha
I was stationed at Manas during 911 and the airport was a junkyard. Doesn't look like much has changed and remember the ground crew de-icing there planes with a jet engine on a stand! The airport smelled like a urinal also. Glad you made it to your destination safely. Bishkek was a very cool and beautiful place and enjoyed the city!

Oml that bald impression was actually brilliant 😂 😂 😂
11% beer? That’s great. Well worth risking your life for on the airlines.
😂😂😂 I think Bald and Bankrupt would be impressed with your impressive impression 😂😂😂 great video just missed the mosaics 👍
I also thought he was going to show a "Soviet Mosaic" lmao
I just loved it when you were taking the piss out of Bald and Bankrupt. Hilarious! You're a champ! (I'm sure he noticed it too, and found it funny as hell)🤣
You are BRAVE Noel...loved the snappy music and your Uber driver was a "10" !!!

Domo-de-dovo while your pronunciation is hilarious, your videos are awesome, safe travels
Love the taxi driver. You want food, just be glad wings didn’t fall off! Have water and be grateful 🙁
Ever since I found your site I have thoroughly enjoyed! I flew daily back in the eighties and early nineties for work (mostly US)... Wow, that A320 was delivered the same month I was born. That is starting to feel like a little while ago now.
Don't know how you can do this Noel, I freak out when flying with Qantas
The woman sitting next to you at 18:20
“Is that guy talking to himself and filming me at the same time?”
The band and bankrupt bit at the start is already having me dying... You should do a video with him flying on ex-soviet planes :D
As usual, interesting, amusing and informative. Even the disembodied floating arm with the hand making random finger gestures was hilarious. Like your memories Noel, Red Square took us back to our honeymoon in 1984 - thanks for that.
Good effort Noel on the Bald and Bankrupt sketch. I wonder if he'll return the favour? ha
I loved this XD
Too busy with diarrhea, probably.
Thanks Noel to show us red square, 20 years back visited this place
You had a samosa (somsa in the Turkic languages). Really enjoyed your videos in the Kyrgyz Republic. I was doing recruiting there back in 1999. I had to fly on Air Kyrgyzstan on several occasions. I always tell people I cheated death many times when flying there though it was never really that dangerous. Osh is a great city with great food. You just needed some friends there. Waiting for you to get into Uzbekistan. I am curious about the aviation industry there.
Thank you! Uzbekistan is definitely on my list.
Hahahaha Loved the Bold and Bankcrupt bit :)

Great vid Noel . greetings from Trinidad and Tobago,
Excellent video Noel as always. Any chance you could possibly review Air china or Sri Lanka airways. Also what was the registration of the bird you flew on? I would love to gain more information about the vintage plane. Thanks and amazing content!

You reminded me of Bald and Bankrupt in the begining of this vlog lol I liked and subbed your channel Cheers ✈🍾🥂
The guy staring out the back 13:28 😂 😂 😂
8:05 they're called samsa in those parts.
Avia Traffic little more like Terra Avia. 6:02 I told you before, that 747 is Terra Avia ex Flynas. Oh i almost forgot. Rossiya is currently the largest pasengger operator of the 747 400. Terra Avia at the moment has 2 747 400. One is a passenger belongs to Flynas and the other one..Thai Airways Cargo
I love the name of the Airline … it's like, "Here is an airplane company." and somebody was like, wait don't you want to call it like Smiling Tree airplanes or something unique? And they are like, no.
Should’ve called this airline Avia narco traffic so we know exactly who they’re catering to
Loving the post Soviet vids hope they continue!
...that seat pitch looks worse than Frontier.
At least the Manas airport terminal seems to me more in step with the times than the one in Vologda you went to when you flew on the YK-40.
