I'm halfway through the book and am watching you tube vids to see what others make of it. I am listening to the audiobook and 8t's hard to get my head around, but I love that you said the ruby story is boring in places ( not a direct quote) , but I'm rel ieved to remember that genre is also a reason why people read a book, not just the emotional quality. People love certain settings and situations, and " care" to read the book for that reason, not necessarily because they need to care about a character I love the Misheld belief thing and they 'why" ...it's very helpful, absolutely. I just am trying to unbrainwash myself from days ago thinking I had to do everything her way I 've had moments listening to that and thinking about my " planster" outline and notic8ng I've already got it happening the way she is talking about, like what you were saying about how you had the " win" part of your book. I think what I'm saying is, she doesn't give writers any credit lol. Like ...good books existed before Story Genius so it's not 100% necessary to do it her way, but you feel like it is listtening to her. A bit like a religion lol. I am grateful to her ...just feel confuused now .
I feel that you have a short breath, which was my problem becouse i was a shy kid didn't speak alot, spend only five seconds underwater, then i searched youtube for long breath exercise for divers, and now i can stay underwater for about 4 minutes, and this helped me with my speech,
Scriptwriting for Animation Stan Hayward I found this book way ago in the library and it was one of the best books about writing and very simple and clear, it took me an hour to read, and i still use its guidance in my writing till now
All of the writing books I have read sell their own self at the beginning and come off as pretentious. I've started to ignore those parts now. I have this book ordered and should be here in about a week. I did like her Wired for Story book, I thought it was fascinating.
Yes! She explained that section so well! I don't have any plans to read Story or Die, since I have so many other books about writing on my radar to get through first ☺📖

Thanks for the review. I'm going to pick that book up and give it a read.

I loved this book especially the part about the misbelief scenes. Are you going to read her new book Story or Die?

I agree with you. But there was a lot on interesting neurological information presented.
Breath, woman. For god's sake breath
The information is great, but the book itself is poorly written
