Will The New Mower Work? Is Today The Day We Will Finish Planting Corn?

  • Join along as we give the new to use mower a try while trying to clean up the farm. With a successful 1st run on the mower it's a rewarding feeling to see it all coming together. Then off to get coen wrapped up or so we hope. With some break downs and lack of sleep we are forces to go much longer then it should of taken. The rain gets to use before we are done but we push it through. Thanks for watching along.

I know of a person who is miserable all the time, so I asked my smart Son why do good people die young, and miserable people live to be 100, he said they aren't good enough for God, and to bad for the devil, and therefore they have no place to go, so they have to hang around because they don't have anywhere to go and make everybody else miserable! Spent many hours late out in the fields, my Sweet Wife would bring me eats, And if it was hot out, she would bring a cold washcloth with her and wipe my face to help cool me off, and of course I'd stop and we'd have a picnic under the trees! God Bless her, she always looked after me! Sometimes she would spend a few hours on the tractor with me! We didn't have cabs back in the day!

Tip I learn the hard way is make sure you have the right grade of bolt for the that hooks up to the gear box. I put a higher grade in by accident and it wrecked a cog on the pto gear for the tractor when i hit a large stone.

to update/upgrade the garden plots if you like: find/get/make some boxes that are about 24" tall by about 4 feet by 8. scrap wood, sheet metal, plastic panels or whatever. Cut 6 inches into the ground, sink the boxes about 3 of those into the hole and fill the bottom 10 inches with a mix of woodchip and soil at about 50/50 (don't use pine/conifer/evergreen but chipped brush is ok!) top em off with some sand and muck from a muddy corner of a field. Run any posts, lines, etc from outside the box in. It makes a hell of a difference. The channels I watch are *Self Sufficient Me* and *Red Gardens* Red does stuff on more than a hobby garden scale but everything they do is hand n shovel level work and Sufficient is where you'll get the most usefull info. Red is dead honest and its been tough going for them like losing 2 tons of carrots to flies for an experiment, based in Ireland on bad soil they constantly have to improve.

When you do 97% of the work alone, why stop to go and cook everyday? I’d make a bigger portion and eat on it for 3 days. So you only cook a couple times a day and bagel n cream cheese is simple breakfast.
But I don’t live your life and if your want to order out that’s on you:
You’re just starting out, so older equipment is what you’ll use. But soon as you can I’d upgrade stuff. Yes all equipment breaks, but you do seem to have more than normal.

They seem kinda close together and that may stunt their growth once their roots spread out and the plants start seeking out nutrients from the soil. Also you could plant a few Pumpkin Plants so when they're ready for picking the boys in the barn would really enjoy them for a healthy treat. (Just a thought).
