- I try so many times with Yoda but he has such horrendous end lag on his basic attack

I’m a Yoda main on light side, I have him maxed. My next highest is Anakin around lvl 120. I only play hvv, so in other words…I’m a total no life sweat. Yoda is definitely unique in terms of his playstyle. Parries are a must, and hookswings are necessary. His normal swing animation is so trash and ridiculously easy to parry. His lunge animation is pretty good though. His stamina and dodges recharge super fast. The only way to be successful with him is by hitting your hookswings and baiting parries. If you’re able to gain an advantage early in a duel, Yoda is great at that point. You can use his presence to give you a little bit of a health cushion, and turn on the offense to finish your opponent off. While his dash attack is easily parried, it’s great for keeping up the pressure when an opponent is on the ropes. For anyone trying to learn him, when engaging an enemy, try to bait a couple parries and land a hit. If you can gain that early advantage, you can make your life a whole lot easier. Just be mindful not to spam his dash attack, wait for your opponent to dodge and then immediately dash attack. This will reduce the risk of being parried as well as ensure you land the hit. The most frustrating part of Yoda is how easy you can be punished for missing hits. Imo there is no better character to use when fighting a vader or palpatine. Kylo can be tricky since his frenzy recharges so fast and there’s really no avoiding it. When fighting him, NEVER use your push until he starts his frenzy. Both abilities have around the same recharge time. If you take that away, he’ll be a lot easier to beat. It’s possible to play Yoda aggressively, it’s just different methodology when you compare it to the other light side sabers. Once you get hookswings down, Yoda really opens up as a competent character. I find his hookswing animation to be easier to land hits with in comparison to other heroes.
Yea Yoda is good at applying pressure when he has the health advantage. Almost impossible to play from behind against a good player tho, which is where he really struggles. You bait a few parries early, you can really apply the pressure and get the win. Just a shame that he has a horrible attack animation.
@@ENEMYAC130AB0VE certainly more difficult when you’re at a health disadvantage, but at the same time it’s typically easier to bait parries when your health is low. His kit allows you to turn the tide pretty quick if you can survive in those situations. Use the Star card that buffs the health amount presence gives you and you can go from being down in health to landing two parries, using presence, and completely flipping the script.
You can reliably dodge kylo's third frenzy swing if you dodge just after the collision of the second strike. I think it's interesting how they made yoda the theoretical best duelist if you make zero mistakes, very in character for the jedi grandmaster. Unfortunately luke is just way better because he still has a block breaker and way better swing speed.
@@jamesdow211 I’d rather force push kylo after his first frenzy hit because you can typically follow it up with another hit and dash attack. It’s a nice little combo. Dodging his 3rd hit is the last resort if you don’t have the push, or depending on your health advantage, tank the frenzy and parry each hit.

I play Yoda like a Finn, being a Finn main myself. I never do his normal attacks, I always go for the bunny-hop jump swings, I stay with my shooters, save the Presence ability when myself or my teammates are choked, frozen, or in trouble. So in short terms, I play Yoda defensively. If played correctly, he's almost impossible to push through to get to shooters.
I try to use my Maul mindset with Yoda but then I get humbled. I have to accept the role as a support healer and be more passive
Patience you must have, Push and Dashes must be for when opp is low health (since it cuts through block) and save your heal for Kylo's freeze or Vader's choke to break out of the effect. Keep your lightsaber off whenever possible, and ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS charge the push before using it.

If he wasn’t so easily parried , I’ve noticed spamming hook swings and dash strikes, going for parrys is the best way, staying as mobile as possible but once you get hit it completely ruins the flow.
Easily parried my ass. I out parry dookus using duelist😂😂😭Yoda the best character in the game. Damage threw blocks. Can basically fly and get out of freezes and chokes. Has health Regen and damage resistance cards. Extra Saber damage cards. Good stamina and Regen for it. The list is endless. But people suck with him so they say he's bad. You can use the middle ability to cancel dash attacks or saber attacks. He runs as fast as grevious does.
@frankybarra3365 hey man. I main Yoda and I'm at like lvl 115. Any tips on movement? I am practicing hook swings. I suck at parrying, but trying.
I move around a lot, use his health to get out of chokes like said, or heal, or group heal, and I know to jump attack to heal to skip the animation.
I try to always be moving and only use his block for blaster or force powers to build up his push.
I try to be unpredictable with dashes and try to be aggressive and almost make them guess where I am.

There was a time where yoda was amazing but they nerfed him into the ground and messed him up with certain updates . Still he can be fun to play just not competitively lol

I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking this. I really don't get how anyone can play Yoda well. His block seems to have a selective hitbox that sometimes deflects literally everything, even shots from the side, and sometimes lets through every single saber strike even on full stamina facing your opponent.
BTW this mod you used makes Bossk looks like something out of the movie Rango and I absolutely love it.

I have a maxed Yoda myself. While he is a very difficult character to play as due to his worse qualities, he can still be a fun character to play with. Yoda has one of the best hooks in the game in my opinion. Had they not done him dirty, more people would enjoy playing him more. If you use him, you must be smart.

Yeah thats why i do the grievous strategy i jump attack instead of click attack because it actually registers and doesnt get parried 90% of the time
To be fair, it's impossible to play any character when your teammates are no where around 😊
But seriously, Yoda was meant for a support role. Great in 1v1, or with a group where others distract, and you can sneak around behind the enemy. Your later game proved that when your team mates showed up. He wasn't meant to charge in solo and take on everyone.
Nah the problem was your teammates didn’t help half the game lol. Yoda is just different honestly. You can’t just walk into a 4v1 and own everyone. I use the 3 dash card and combo the dash and if you hit all 3 dashes with follow ups it does a lot of damage. Aside from that just gotta wait for the parries or hook. Yoda is actually cracked with hooks. For some reason I can perform them easier with him than any other saber. Once I stopped using his normal swings and only used jump swings I stopped getting destroyed so much lol. Oh and the other card I use is oppose the dark side I think so I do more damage to villains
CrispeCreme15 might have something to say about that. Also always jump attack, treat him like Finn in HVV, simultaneously like maul with the dash attacks and vader with the health and damage reduction card.
