My cat makes the same sound when she thinks I’m not there. Often it sounds like she’s saying “Mum? Mum?” It’s a cross between Meow and Mum. As soon as I say - I’m here. I’m up here! She’ll then come running to find me. It’s a totally different sound from anything that she usually makes. Bless ‘em. 🙂🐿🌈❤️
I view your show as a "go to" to feel better about things. Such beautiful scenery in such a gorgeous countryside. I love the people, and the places, that I'll never get to see. You have to know, I dearly love your videos. Thanks for "taking me" along.
The thing you found in a bush is called a Featherweight Pump and is carried on Fire Engines as a portable pump which can be setup in a river or other water supply to feed water to the main pump. I was a fire fighter for 21 years and have used one many times. Anotherr briliant vlog from the three of you. 🙂👌
I really like to watch your channel. You're so down to earth and appreciate your lives afloat. I also like your camera presence in that your hair doesn't have to be immaculate. Natural beauty. 🌻
Love the deer that fits on your tiller...I presume that came with the boat! The sky in the middle of your video is indeed spectacular. Benny's music just suits everything perfectly....love your new crashed cover too...😊
So glad I found your channel. Great Vlog. Love the Cratch Cover and the fringe ☺️. Most importantly, Alan seems to enjoy it. A 9 mile bike ride on a small bike with little tires on grass sounds horrendous. Good for you doing it. Video was great, good eyes, and the music was fantastic. Thanks for sharing. 🙏😊🤗 Kathy
I have watched other episodes but didn't realize how you kept the van up with the boat. And now I see! I really am enjoying your videos of narrowboat life!
Yay!!! A new room! So cool! I can tell Alan loves it already, she will be sunning herself in there all the time, I bet. Absolutely adore watching the 3 of you! I find I smile throughout your entire vlogs, you bring me joy 😊 thank you. 🧶
I love the new room and so does Alan by the look of things. Great scenery, great filming, lovely wildlife. You 3 are very likeable, you’re definitely becoming my favourite boating vloggers. Take care you 3. Lots of love. xxx
Thank you so much Shirley! 😊 Thats so lovely. So happy you're enjoying the videos. Yes Alan definitely has a new favourite space! All the best, Ben, Emily and Alan xx
This is literally my childhood! And in more or less the same area too! Lazy days, cows, canal maps, "how far to the next town dad?" and weeds wrapped around your prop! What a life! Loving this channel. ❤️
Hey guys thanks for putting your selfs out there and shareing , I stumbled on your Chanel few weeks back and watched every episode since , one post week not enough we need more , especialy from two grooves cool cats like ya selfs and of course Allen , lol ,your great couple and love the content ,just tip emily with the lights you put up under the cover be careful it may melt the plastic on the couver or fade it , keep up the good work , you make my week hope your keeping cooler this week ? Take care and safe travels
Thanks so much, means alot for you to say, if we had time maybe we could do more hehe.. Thanks for the tip, we have moved those lights so should be safe now 🙂
We have been watching your vids on TV, You two are a lovely couple & we wish you all the best. What we both noticed about you was how you take life in your stride. You can tell Allen we love her too, she is typical of most cats, they have to be the centre of attention only all of the time! Love Ben's guitar work, & Emily is such a nice young woman too, being able to turn her hand to most things. Very relaxing & good for the soul. Have ether of you read any of Wayne Dyer books? If not, look on UA-cam to find out what he has to say. Have a beautiful life.
Thanks for another great video guys, useful catch cover for bad weather and extra room. You learn as you go with shopping when you can. Alan's living the life! Take care.
I just became aware of your vlogs and enjoy them very much.... I feel as though I am traveling down the paisley corridors of time to 1960's UK when times were simpler !! Love your music !! Thanks for taking time to make your videos !! 🙂😎🙃
There are so many narrow boat life channels these days but yours stands out from the rest by a mile - great work guys (including Alan, she's a star!). Lovely footage, great editing & perfect music from Benny. You deserve to grow & grow 👍
They did a great job with the cover. We are on a (slow) journey to getting a narrow boat and your videos are making us excited for the future boating fun!
I'm really enjoying your videos. I appreciate the balance of real life (making meals, doing chores, cycling back to collect the van) and cruising. If all you showed was cruising, it would be easy to assume that life on the boat is one big summer holiday. Well done and keep up the good work on the videos.
Another great vlog guys. So glad Alan likes her new cratch house 😹 you will get so much use out of that, the view out the front window is beautiful. Enjoy ❤️👍
Really enjoying your videos and great new addition to the boat for you both and of course Alan. Lovely scenery well done on the bike ride. The music is superb. x
omg thank you so so much for retrieving my boat..i did go to the boat that same day and was told by a passer-by that someone on a boat had tied my boat up as it was adrift.. thank you both very much..rob
well guys love the new room... and Alan will too.. Hey I have a fringe........mines abit long hair cut on friday......love the vlog keep up the good work.
I've moved more than a few times, and the joy of finding those hidden gems in a new area are wonderfull. Even though you seem tired, your happiness shines through it all. Thank you for the video.
Hello You Three - greetings from Poland I found your channel by accident. I'm so glad I did. I've subscribed and plan to go through your back catalogue to see how things started. I love the new cratch cover and what a cat! She's lovely. We have 4 cats plus two dogs. The dogs are completely bilingual - they speak English with me and Polish with my wife. Fantastic video.Lovely commentary. Stay safe.
I both just found your channel so doing catch-up,love your approach to the canal life, yes not being critical you have got alot of work ahead but when done it will look great, your extra room is a bonus I bet it's nice and warm in there in the summer,,All the best . Regards from Hereford
I know you posted this 6 months ago but I just found it today. I have lived on my 59 foot boat for 5 years now, with my cat Flann full time and my partner Marianne when her work schedule allows. I had a new cratch frame and cover made in the first year and I also went with a single glass window at the front. I went to Hobbycraft and got some Pebeo paints and painted a picture of Flann looking up at the moon on the inside of the glass. It has been there for 4 years so far and is still fine and often gets comments. Good luck with the cruising and the videos!
Yay, nice cratch! Alan looked so adorable peeping out :) lovely video 💖 and very impressed with the bike riding. I'm terrible at riding a bike, there's no way I could have done it!
This is the first time I've seen your channel and I must say I rather like it. The new cover looks great and that was a nice touch with the solar LEDS. Enjoy the rain while it lasts. Cheers
Just found you 2 , your actually as mad as a box of frogs but I love it. I follow so many canal boaters but you 2 are very different. Benny you can't sail a boat in that clothing? Love Alan, love the new cratch cover that's super cool, still trying to get used to the fringes, but seriously you 2 are super cool, from a 50 something old man. I worked on the flood defences at hebden Bridge during lockdown which allowed to be a key worker so have great memories of that area. Dont change guys I am a new besotted follower.
Two fringes 🤣 I couldn’t get Dave hill from Slade outta my head lol …that’s a fine and wonderful life your living there I’m respectfully jealous good on you stay happy 👍
Love the boat and Allen, so I had the joy to subscribe. Boating adventures and Narrowboat familiarity are wonderful, new cratch cover is marvelous, and eating out there is the best. Here's to relaxing cruising, Thanks in advance.
Just stumbled across your ‘channel’…the Trent & Mersey was the first canal I ventured on…back in the 70’s…many more canal holidays followed..sadly I’ve not been on one this century…anyway subscribed and hoping for more memory joggers….thanks!
I'm really enjoying these vlogs, down to earth and not pretentious. I was really surprised when you said you were worried that you weren't getting enough exercise on the boat. A 9 mile bike ride on the tow path with a bike with small wheels would kill me 🤣
Loved the clip of the shock on Alan’s face when she realised you were there ha ha, 2guys, 2fringes and a narrow boat should definitely be your channel name, it made me giggle :) great video 👍
Hi Colin, thanks for watching! It's actually not a problem at all now we've got used to the glass being there. It makes such a difference having the cover, we love it! 😊
Nice to see you guys and the new room looks fab! Cratch is it? Love to just relax and watch your vlogs. That 9 mile bike ride would've taken me the same amount of time I reckon. Love the music and Alan. Thanks Ben & Emily 🙏🙏💚
Great vlog, lovely catch cover, you can buy lights that hang up and either charge by USB or solar. Alan definable is impressed with new cover, as you say it will be great in winter. Maybe an E-bike might have been a better option rather than the small folding one. Hour you next couple days was relaxing. 💚
The engine you found is/was a Coventry Climax fire pump. Quality British engineering shipped around the world. Used on many a fire truck or as a stand alone unit including here in Australia. Staffs and Worcs Canal was our local back in the day.
Hi All, Engine you found in the bushes is a old fire pump used to supplement the fire engine probably there because the farmer used it to water his crops, engine was a petrol 4 cylinder Coventry climax as fitted in Hillman imp cars nice cratch just making mine now hopefully I haven't made it too tall. 😊
Hi guys I did work for the role on the Rochdale canal near Oldham 3 days one week and 2 days the next and went back and took my wife to see a couple of England trips ago. Enjoyed working on it even in the middle of winter snow and frost grrrrrr. Good vlog have a good day Keith
R bless you did good girl xxx (lol) Glad your pleased with your cratch cover it dose look super very pleased for you both and of course Allan go safe x
Bykes were great when we were kids as you get older and things change especially when we discover we can get an electric motor thats when cycling becomes enjoyable again along with a nice cumffy 😎😎😎
Hi guys, what a nice video you have made. Sailing through a beautiful nature and picturesque locks on the river. The cat seems to enjoy it too. Hopefully she doesn't walk off the boat. Have fun and I'll see you in the next video. Greetings from Eddy from Mechelen (Belgium)
Hey Jim, sure, in the description is a link to Ben's music, he goes by the name 'Bingo Harry', and is on bandcamp and Spotify. He also has an LP coming out in November! The genres vary but it has his vibe to it all 🙂⭐💫Thanks for watching!
Lovely vlog. I often travel in my boat with my car parked close by and cycle back to collect it. On a fold-up bike it can be such hard work .. as you say, on lumpy towpaths really frustrating and slow.
Love watching your videos! Question- the boats always appear to drive straight. Is it difficult to steer it straight and not hit the sides of the canals? Thx
My cat makes the same sound when she thinks I’m not there.
Often it sounds like she’s saying “Mum? Mum?” It’s a cross between Meow and Mum.
As soon as I say - I’m here. I’m up here!

Ben, with a couple pallets you could have knocked out that crutch? frame.
Just stumbled across your ‘channel’…the Trent & Mersey was the first canal I ventured on…back in the 70’s…many more canal holidays followed..sadly I’ve not been on one this century…anyway subscribed and hoping for more memory joggers….thanks!

Thanks for watching, and glad you are enjoying our style 🙂 Yes we are much fitter after becoming boaters 🙂
Congrats on the new conservatory/greenhouse. When are you starting on the "Colin Furze" cellar?

See you highlighted potential problems with your new cratch. When I replace my framework, will definitely have an opening / removable window.
Thanks so much for watching and glad you are enjoying the videos! Yes the cover is called a cratch, a weird word isn't it! 😊
Love the banjo music. Seems to fit the canal lifestyle. Love your vids keep up the good work
Thanks so much, it's been fun coming up with tunes for these videos, and more banjo tracks are in the pipe line! Thanks for watching 🙂
The cratch fitter was in two minds about jumping on board, bit of a wobbly Robert.
He managed ok in the end, so that's good 🙂
You’d be surprised how heavy they are with laminated glass in them🙂
@@BenandEmily Yes and it looks great
@@garywhite9813 Yes, they do carry some weight, looks can be deceiving.
REALLY like your music.
Chilling to you at the same time is a great synergy.
Where can I get hold of your music?
Thankyou
newcomer to the channel loved how I recognised where you were before it said where you were I grew up around Stone and lived there for several years
Heheh, its really lovely there! :)
Great vlog, lovely catch cover, you can buy lights that hang up and either charge by USB or solar. Alan definable is impressed with new cover, as you say it will be great in winter. Maybe an E-bike might have been a better option rather than the small folding one. Hour you next couple days was relaxing. 💚
Thanks for the tip! An e bike would be ace, maybe we should save up for one... 🙂
The engine you found is/was a Coventry Climax fire pump. Quality British engineering shipped around the world. Used on many a fire truck or as a stand alone unit including here in Australia. Staffs and Worcs Canal was our local back in the day.
Ah I see! Wow that's cool! Thanks for the info. Thing were heading to the staffs and Worcester soon...? Maybe! We're bad with plans! 😅
Ah that's very interesting thank you 😊

Hi guys, what a nice video you have made. Sailing through a beautiful nature and picturesque locks on the river. The cat seems to enjoy it too. Hopefully she doesn't walk off the boat. Have fun and I'll see you in the next video. Greetings from Eddy from Mechelen (Belgium)
Hi Eddy, yes it is often picturesque, Alan has actually fallen in the water twice! It's ok, she can swim... Thanks for watching!
Digging the music! Anywhere one could purchase or listen to more of it?
Hey Jim, sure, in the description is a link to Ben's music, he goes by the name 'Bingo Harry', and is on bandcamp and Spotify. He also has an LP coming out in November! The genres vary but it has his vibe to it all 🙂⭐💫Thanks for watching!
Lovely vlog. I often travel in my boat with my car parked close by and cycle back to collect it. On a fold-up bike it can be such hard work .. as you say, on lumpy towpaths really frustrating and slow.
