Last year in september I visited NYC and watched your video's months in advance. I can say...best thing I ever did. I followed your advice and got to feel like a real New Yorker. Visited Manhattan, Brooklyn, Staten Island and Queens. Used the subway without problems and got to visit all the placed you recommended. I even had a citytrip to Washington DC and did a NYPD ride along. I do feel most 'secret' spots are well known now. But still, I feel like I made the most of my time and saw almost everything I really had to see in 10 days. I had a fantastic airbnb with Phill in East village to for only 65€/day. So thank you so much !

My bi-coastal hairdresser (I'm in CA) told me the deal about not wearing running shoes the first time I went to NY many years ago. My podiatrist says running shoes make the very best walking shoes. I have worn my Asics all over NY (when it wasn't snowing) and no one has given me any grief about it...as far as I know. If they are secretly thinking "tourist", who cares? I am one! I completely agree with everything else you said. I just hope the cab and horse carriage drivers don't see this... lol Thank you for this informative video. A lot of New Yorkers/Jersey and east coast people are rude and D bags but who cares? I’ve had waitresses with angry furious looks for no reason. Just ignore those creeps.
We traveled to NYC from 19th to 25th now in january and your tips helped us a lot!!! Thank you so much! We walked more than 20.000 steps everyday and we were completely destroyed at the end, but extremely worth it!!!
Great to see Luis in this video! There is more to Manhattan - East Village, Alphabet City, uptown neighborhoods - plenty of things to see and places to eat.
The first piece of advice I give to anyone who is about to take their first trip to New York is ...... DON'T eat in a restaurant for every meal. It took my wife and I a few days to realise just how much we were spending by doing so. We then started using the Essen deli's where you pay for food by the weight (around $8 per pound when we were there in 2016). There are plenty of cheaper food options in New York aside from expensive restaurants, you'll save a fortune.
Fruit carts and aldi have dirt cheap, good NYC food. Dinners are typically much more expensive than lunches. Whole Foods sale products are also well priced, for those trying to save. I walk a Manhatten figure 8 ( miles) usually on my 6th day that includes all 3.
Don't make the mistake my wife did - if you get a 7-day Metro card, don't put in the purse compartment right next to the magnetic clasp, especially when you're only one day into your trip.
This is why the new OMNY (One Metro New York) RFID contactless payment cards (similar to the Oyster [London], Octopus [Hong Kong], and Charlie [Boston] cards) will be better once they're rolled out completly at the end of this year (2023.)
You're clearly at the Waterfront in Cape Town :) :) Watching your videos from South Africa, planning my trip to NYC in 2022. Thanks for the super helpful tips! xx
I went to New York last year and I can't wait to go back, one thing I love about New York is how you can do for free like Brooklyn bridge and Central Park! (my favourite things I enjoyed) I love your videos Sarah they help so much! x
Love your videos! Will be visiting NYC for the first time next month 🎉🎉so finding your videos very helpful. I’m from the UK. One thing that has confused me though is sneakers vs runnings shoes? In the UK we would not differentiate between the two (I have no idea what the difference is!) we call them all “trainers” (which I’m guessing means something else in USA - 😂)
I loved traveling to Japan, Tokyo for art shows, the efficiency of walking, crossing streets and riding subway & trains was fabulous, also love the respect you give fellow riders by not talking loud or on phones. I can not wait to see NYC, its always been a dream and your videos are so helpful to manifest a good first visit when I do. I'm one step closer, moved from hawaii with my art studio to vermont, so I'm planning the trip soon. Thank you for such good content and editing
Parts of the city do sleep. I’ve been there dozens of times, but I do remember ending up downtown at 2 am with my brother-in-law, trying to find a bar. Nothing. But hey, I’m from Miami. We have a bit of night life, too. Love the videos! Love NYC! Hope to visit again soon!
Yes!! Stopping in the middle of the sidewalk or whatever is really annoying. I see that all the time inside the Oculus for example. When you walk in, they stand right there taking pictures.
I did buy the 48 bus tour with statue of liberty cruise, night tour, and Brooklyn. Of course I plan on walking still, but it's February and cold when I'm coming.
Hilarious!!! I have made some of these mistakes already, you both are right! You are both great communicators and your subtitles are very creative! Thank you
I’m a native New Yorker. Air b n b’s I have mixed feelings about. They often take away affordable housing from locals when landlords hold an apt solely for this. And frankly, people on vacations are incredibly noisy. No respect for the actual tenants when they are staying in apt building. So perhaps reminding people of that if you recommend Air B&Bs. I also recommend Top of the Rock instead of ESB. Also, instead of waiting on line for ferry to Liberty Island, take the free Staten Island Ferry and you pass right by the Statue of Liberty.. plus the photos you can take from the back of the ferry are amazing! Museums rely on tourists paying and we need to support art institutions so perhaps let people figure out about the free days on their own. Plus the lines are already really long to get in on those days. Otherwise good job.
I'm likely to ruffle a few feathers but... After visiting the USA from New Zealand, tipping in itself, is ridiculous. Why should the customer subsidise staff wages through bumping up their wages?
"When in Rome..." The wait staff in NZ are probably paid a living wage, not so in the USA. I've never been to NZ, except for two airport layovers in Auckland on my way to OZ. Australia also does not have a tipping culture. However, as an American (actually US/UK dual national), I felt ashamed not to leave a tip. So, I can understand why you wouldn't want to leave one as it's NZ custom. Still it is not socially acceptable in the USA unless you are unhappy with the service. Under no circumstances are you obligated to leave a tip in the USA if you are unhappy with the service. You can even have the service charge removed from your bill, if you are not satisfied with the service.
The campaign to pay living wage here in London has really gained traction. I think as an employer you shouldn't be employing people if you can't or won't pay them a wage they can manage to survive on. The culture of making the customer feel guilty is wrong, it should be a choice if you feel the person serving you has gone above and beyond then this is the point of a tip. Londoners also have this image of being rude too. I think that's just the stereotypical viewpoint of people from the North. I guess as they said it's a city thing of being fast paced and usually commuters.
Do you not realize that, if the waitstaff were not tipped, the prices you pay for food would be commensurately higher? At least, with tipping, the waitstaff is motivated to provide the very best service possible.
I used that "Sit or Squat" app when I was in New York in May 2018. It literally saved my life when I was in the middle of Central Park and hadda, well, *go*
I'v seen many videos of Sara showing NY city and she is great, this is the first time I see Luis in a video and you two together are so intertaining, I mean Luis is really funny.Hope to see more of both of you.
Regarding clothes: I live in So California. I go to NYC a few times a year for work and I find New Yorker's are really practical with their clothes day to day. By practical, I don't mean frumpy. It's a stylish "I am going to walk 5 miles today" look. It's a nice change from LA fashion, which isn't as focused on comfort/practical.
That rule of not stopping in the middle of a walkway holds true for anywhere. If you need to stop, step over to a wall or out of the way if you have to stop and look at your phone or whatever. That's always been a pet peeve of mine.
I don’t get how it’s annoying. It’s far far worse in a car situation or when people honk at you just because the light turned green. That is much much much annoying
I am coming to NY in February 😆 and I have been binge watching your videos and taking notes! Learned a lot and I am sure this will make my trip much easier :)
Your videos are terrific. Thank you. I was surprised by your aribnb recommendation. I am planning a trip and was originally only considering airbnb. But then everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, told me that was a terrible idea because somehow NYC was different and I was going to get scammed. I ended up getting a good Cyber Monday deal at a cool boutique hotel so I'm happy but would have definitely booked airbnb if it wasn't for people advising me against it.
have been to NY a few times, and these tips are fantastic - made me rethink my next trip (just swapped from a hotel booking to Airbnb in the same area for much better value). thanks very much - fantastic channel and content!
Taking a tour bus wasn't such a bad idea. My first time visiting the bus helped get a good overlay. My 4th annual trip coming up im just getting a weekly pass and taking the subway everywhere but the tour bus helped me have a mental map of things.
Minnesota here, and recovering New Yorker. New York winters are way worse than Minnesota ones. You guys got that wind and 30 degree cold that blows right to your bones. Sunny, calm and 10 degrees is way nicer than 30 degree rain.
Thank you guys so much! I’ve learned how to survive many NYC trips with your videos! Still think Dumbo was my fav area to visit so far. I’ll be on my 9th trip soon. :)
Hoping to go to NY later this year from Cape Town South Africa, watching this video about NY and being like Hey aren’t they sitting at the food market at the waterfront in Cape Town?
It's wonderful that this video is being shot at the V&A Waterfront in the South Africa my home country. The tip standard in South Africa is 10%, it's good to know that around the world it varies as more than 10% in my country is for going above and beyond, or the bill is too low for the work the individual put into serving your table.
Sarah. The yellow cabs can be a Severe issue. Since I live in Brooklyn. The Yellow cabs ( Some of them) don't like going to Brooklyn ( Gravesend , Coney Island area) The last time I flown was in 1999. Going home from San Francisco took the redeye to JFK. Me and my brother took a yellow cab and he was a cool guy. We gave him a tip and helped him find a Bagel store in Gravesend section of Brooklyn. ( Ave X and East 1st street).
Your videos always have something to learn.. About Fashion, food, Culture , dressing, etc . Thank you so much for helping us out .. both of you love you guys .. Thank a tonne. \,,/ waiting for more nyc videos from Bronx and queens
Your videos are THE BEST!! I watched all of the NY ones before our group of 9 went for a week in September for the first time. We would not have survived or had the trip we did without the knowledge you have shared. We saw and did just about everything in Manhattan within that week! I spent all week ushering our group out of the way on the sidewalk 😆 they would all stop in the middle constantly. I think they all finally caught on by our last day 🤦🏻♀️ comfy shoes and external chargers were absolute musts. We did enjoy the bus tour at the beginning of our week, it gave us a better visual of where stuff was and we loved hearing about history. Also we had plenty of time to do both the Empire State Building and Top of the Rock. I really wanted to see the Empire State Building bc they had the Friends orange couch up there one day 🧡
Hoping to go to NYC so your videos have been really helpful as I start researching what to do. But I completely agree with Luis about stopping in the middle of the footpath. I have lived in London and Edinburgh, and my workplaces in both those cities have required me wlking through the iconic sightseeing spots and nothing bugs me more than people just stopping, or not letting you by by hogging the footpath .
arthur ave the "new" little italy. . its been italian there since my great grandparents time . . in fact its more mid eastern and central american now ,only a few italian spots left
wnna save a few dollars from top of the rock, go to bar 65, its literally one less floor, lovely outdoor patio, and for 15 dollars you can have a nice cocktail and go outside rather than the $40 to go up that extra floor. Just make sure you check the dress code before and you can turn it into a romantic evening.
Air b&b is cheap but people need to be aware that letting apartments is mostly illegal in NY unless the owner is also staying there. There is more to it then just this though so read up on this if you are planning to book one or book one in New Jersey where they are legal.
I live in Houston, not New York, but I still get just as annoyed as Louie when people stop in the middle of the walking path as if they are the only ones using the path. 😆
I was there June of 2018. I did fall for the Empire State building, and the view was great, but not the view I was expecting. I wouldn't say I fell for number 9, being I was only in NYC for the day, so I felt a bus would get me around faster to see the sights. It was vague though; but that was okay because it's NEW YORK CITY! And I already knew I would be coming back for a longer stay. And Luis you would be proud. I did make a conscience choice every time to step aside against a building and out of the way when needing to stop where I was. You were talking about it and I just kept nodding my head.
Funny about the toilets, I had a shock about the public loos! I was over joyed when I went to the felix rostery cafe! they have actually gorgeous toilets! haha
Thank you Sarah for your videos. I´m from Sweden and I´ve been in New York once before., in 1973 when I was a teenager. But.......I´m going to New York in April and your videos have helped me a lot. I think there are a few Swedish cafés in New York, called Fika. (Fika means coffee break) Have you been to one of them? Maybe you should go an eat some Princess cake.
Hi 👋🏻, I'm from New Zealand, my goal for this year is to save enough to hopefully visit NewYork at the end of the year 😊. Inspired by your guys channel, thank yous soo much for the information ❤️
Arthur Avenue in the Bronx may be the new Little Italy. However, it's off the beaten path and takes too long to get to for tourists staying in Manhattan on a tight schedule.
Thanks to both of you for those great tips about my preferred city in the world, NYC. You are right about the tips. We should be careful with the tipping. On the topic of the tipping, it is about time to re-educate some of the waiters and waitresses in NYC: at many restaurants, they take generous tips for granted. I was recently at a restaurant in NYC where I gave a ridiculously generous tip to my waiter (25% of the bill!!). Then the person I was dining with said...a bit loudly...that I was a bit too generous, only to have the waiter replicating that our table is only a table of 2 persons, so he is not getting any considerable tips from us compared to a table with more patrons. And I am not kidding. They are really losing the sense of appreciation and taking your tips for granted.
Visted in November 1) Tipping, think I got this more or less right. Though didn't tip at Pat LaFrieda in Time Out Market because they didn't take cash, so it just slipped my mind. Apologies to them as the food was great! 2) Took the Airtrain/Subway. Much cheaper! 5) Stayed in the Mariott by Times Square! So expensive and not a great hotel anyway! 6) Used the Rockefeller centre one :D 7) Guilty. Had a McDonalds Biscuit thing one morning. Wasn't at all what I was expecting. So not a total loss. Los Tacos No 1 and Clinton St Bakery though were great! 8) TotR. Enjoyed it, but don't go early if you've booked for the twilight time. Not a huge amount to do whilst waiting for the sun to set 10) Used the Subway for everything! Bought a MetroCard 12) Saw your vid before I went. So when the Subway driver said "next stop is Housten St" it made me smile! 17) Did the DUMBO sights. Liked that. Spent some time in Queens. Did briefly visit Bronx. 18) Didn't feel unsafe at any time. And I was out early some days and late others. 19) I nearly walked clean into the back of some tourists who did this on the High Line! (I guess the authentic NY experience is to get frustrated with tourists! ;) ) 20) Got hassled by the CD guys, who as soon as I politely declined, heard my Brit accent and tried to engage in more conversation. "Hey man, where are you from?" But I just ignored him and he gave up.
You guys are so cute, I love your videos! Going to NY for the 3rd time because my mans mom lives in Kingston. Your vids are so helpful and entertaining. I wish the hotel tip aged well though, hotels and airbnbs are both outrageous now :( we luckily found an airbnb for about $300 per night this trip! in Brooklyn! :)
Honestly the whole tipping thing puts me off the most. I don't understand why I'd be responsible for paying their staff's wages. Tipping in the UK isn't necessary because the staff get an actual salary. America, this is pre-historic. sort it out!
First, as an alternative to Top of the Rock, consider the Summit at One Vanderbilt, which opened in the fall of 2021, and thus after this video. Second, many businesses seem to close a little bit earlier since the pandemic, and so NYC isn't quite as 24/7 as it used to be. Third, consider using Citibike to get around: it's not that expensive (you don't need to pay extra for the e-bikes, because the city is generally pretty flat), it gets you around a lot faster than walking while still letting you still see the sights, and there are a fair number of bike lanes to make things safer.
Nicely put together advice you two! And it only confirms what I already knew...I have visited enough times to have moved well past the touristy things and the city now feels like my second home, can navigate it with ease, has my heart, and I plan to make it official in the next year to two at most:) When I visit, I am pretty sure I blend in and most don't realize I am a visitor;) I have traveled solo on more than one occasion. Every single tip presented here was spot on and I was smiling or nodding in agreement!! The only one I hadn't heard about was "sit and squat", too funny. And I don't take cabs so wouldn't know about tipping rates. I don't understand how people can visit anywhere and only eat in chain restaurants, especially ones they have at home. And especially in the City! Really?! I have a hard time deciding what to eat because there are only so many meals during my stay! Last time some of my choices included Nepalese, Ethiopian, Jamaican, and an always go-to, Jewish deli. Try new foods!! Stay in an Airbnb, get away from Midtown and Times Square and even Manhattan, explore beyond the tourist spots, find other parks besides Central Park, speak to locals, and you will have a more authentic New York experience. Of course if it's your first trip, you will want to see all of the iconic and tourist places, and you should and that is OK!! But I concur, if you only go to the top of one building, choose Top of the Rock! You can visit the Empire State building's beautiful gold lobby and photograph it from the ground;) One random piece of knowledge from me: corner stores are called "bodegas", similar to a convenience store or market in other places;) Happy exploring everyone!
Hi Sarah! I love following you!! I was wondering the shoes that your husband got in this video which brand/style are they? We are heading to NYC and I'm trying to pre-plan a head. I wanted to get some good shoes for my bf.
Great videos! Very accurate and to the point. Old time New Yorkers always double the tax to compute the tip. (you can round-up). Please do not walk three abreast. The streets are a form of transportation. Ubers have become pricey so do not dismiss a yellow cabs out of hand. Halal carts can be very good and cheap and a step above Mc D. thanks!
Tipping culture is something I hate, and I think consumers are starting to wise up to it. Yes, I will absolutely tip for great service, but why am I subsidising the wages of staff because the business won't pay a living wage? I see a lot of people where I live (Toronto) tipping less and less, and it's only a matter of time before consumers pull back. Things are expensive enough as is. Business owners - pay your staff a living wage and stop putting the burden on your customers
Winter temperatures Nights are cold and frigid, between −2 and 4 °F (−18 to −15 °C). Most of Central New York, Mid Hudson Valley, and the Catskills have moderate temperatures that are not very cold but not mild, Between 30-35 °F (−1 to 1 °C). Nights are cold but not frigid, between 18-23 °F (−7 to −5 °C).
I came to NYC the November before covid-19 well my husband and I went to a Broadway show and to celebrate we went to an Irish restaurant before the show and we thought we'd split the most expensive appetizer on the menu and it was a disaster tiny spicy and expensive.
The V&A waterfront in South Africa is an active harbour and the spot that you are recording this video at is next to an active dry dock. Wonderful to see you guys in South Africa.
Hi Sarah, I'm a huge fan of your channel! I would like to know some recommendations (like discounts or things to do) with seniors. A lot of us are traveling with our fathers or grandma's and I know for example that you can get a discount for them for the subway... thanks a lot!
Thanks you for this vid Sarah! Just to add: to charge your devices, you may also use the LinkNYC portals all around NYC 😊 i used them a lot when i was there. You just need to have your USB cable with you and be ready to stand for some time beside the portal if your battery went really low 😋
I agree about the Empire State building, beautiful but I did find it underwhelming and would love to have seen Central Park in the view (next time ill do top of the rock) and also so many people taking selfies and crowded!
I am planning to visit New York next year on July and your videos are helping me so much however, When I searched where to stay on Airbnb the prices were kinda high and I decided to compare prices in booking. To my surprise I found the Doubletree Hilton for 80 bucks the night, not that cheap but it’s so close to time square and the main places to visit and I’m going with my boyfriend so not so bad comparing to the 95 rooms inside someone’s apartment I found in other areas 🤷🏻♀️

I booked that. Sounds fun
Guys, I was pretty real on this one! Happy I was able to share one of my number one pet peeves with you all 😅😅
I agree with you 100%! Tourists drive me nuts even when I am one, mostly because they're completely unaware of their surroundings (i.e. me).

Today , I learned several things from you both. It will help me have a better experience ! Thanks , and Happy Valentine's Day ❤.
We are happy to help!
@@SarahFunky is he Indonesian?
Arthur Avenue in the Bronx is really worth it!
Also, instead of waiting on line for ferry to Liberty Island, take the free Staten
Island Ferry and you pass right by the Statue of Liberty.. plus the photos you can take from the back of the ferry are amazing! Museums rely on tourists paying and we need to support art institutions so perhaps let people figure out about the free days on their own. Plus the lines are already really long to get in on those days. Otherwise good job.
Amazing, thank you so much!!! Love the videos ❤
FYI, in NYC tips are actually the wages that most waitstaff lives on. They are, for the most part not paid the minimum wage.
Do you not realize that, if the waitstaff were not tipped, the prices you pay for food would be commensurately higher? At least, with tipping, the waitstaff is motivated to provide the very best service possible.
@@teresahoward7821 Thats just a fake excuse. How come in other countries you dont tip and you pay the same price for the food?
I used that "Sit or Squat" app when I was in New York in May 2018. It literally saved my life when I was in the middle of Central Park and hadda, well, *go*
I'v seen many videos of Sara showing NY city and she is great, this is the first time I see Luis in a video and you two together are so intertaining, I mean Luis is really funny.Hope to see more of both of you.
Never miss a single video! You guys are amazing! Hoping to come to New York someday when these might come handy.
Thanks a lot nice work
Regarding clothes: I live in So California.
Yes but it is specifically annoying in NY
I don’t get how it’s annoying. It’s far far worse in a car situation or when people honk at you just because the light turned green. That is much much much annoying
Love your channel 💜Over there soon 🤗
The Yellow cabs ( Some of them) don't like going to Brooklyn ( Gravesend , Coney Island area)
The last time I flown was in 1999. Going home from San Francisco took the redeye to JFK. Me and my brother took a yellow cab and he was a cool guy. We gave him a tip and helped him find a Bagel store in Gravesend section of Brooklyn. ( Ave X and East 1st street).
Thank you! So helpful. My husband and I will be visiting Manhattan and have already made a made a mistake. Hopefully, we will do better.
I really wanted to see the Empire State Building bc they had the Friends orange couch up there one day 🧡
I love this vid y’all are so funny 😆 I won’t get in the way Luis 🤣🤦🏽♀️
There are SO many gems in this video - Thank You!!
It’s new to many people just finding out about it ( Christopher Columbus syndrome )
I try to get a Air BnB but they all wanted to do like 200-300 cleaning free and that made them just as much as the hotels if not more
wnna save a few dollars from top of the rock, go to bar 65, its literally one less floor, lovely outdoor patio, and for 15 dollars you can have a nice cocktail and go outside rather than the $40 to go up that extra floor.
please suggest eating/resting at whole foods and chealsea market !!!
Winter weather: hat and gloves. Broadway shows are expensive: try Off or Off Off Broadway. It’s the subway, even on elevated sections.
You guys are amazing! Thank you!!!
If you plan to spend a week or more in NYC, always plan your trip with an easily obtained travel book by authors such as Frommer or Fodor.
We are coming to NYC this June, your videos are really helpful and informative. Entertaining too, can't wait for our trip
Use the train to the city from the airport, cheapest mode.
Love your videos Sarah! I'm coming to NYC in March , I hope to see you there! ♥😘
Thanks for the video. It was cool to see you with your husband. Getting a sightseeing pass was very useful for me in my 8-day stay. I recommend it :)
I fell into the character trap in Times Square 🙄. Lesson learned.
In the Bronx we don't call it the subway, we call it the "train".
That's the Bronx! In Manhattan we call it the subway!
I disagree with your Airbnb tip. Now with all the additional fees, it comes out just as much as a hotel
So true! I was thinking the same thing. The cleaning fees can be $100 alone.
Love the videos, the background video is the Watershed at the V&A waterfront in Cape Town. South Africa's Mother City.
We watched all of Sarah's videos before going last year and learned a lot, which made the trip so much less stressful!
Phil Clements Ditto!! I watched many of her videos before my NYC trip last September.
Visted in November
1) Tipping, think I got this more or less right.
6) Used the Rockefeller centre one :D
7) Guilty. Had a McDonalds Biscuit thing one morning. Wasn't at all what I was expecting. So not a total loss. Los Tacos No 1 and Clinton St Bakery though were great!
8) TotR. Enjoyed it, but don't go early if you've booked for the twilight time. Not a huge amount to do whilst waiting for the sun to set
10) Used the Subway for everything! Bought a MetroCard
12) Saw your vid before I went.
(I guess the authentic NY experience is to get frustrated with tourists! ;) )
20) Got hassled by the CD guys, who as soon as I politely declined, heard my Brit accent and tried to engage in more conversation. "Hey man, where are you from?" But I just ignored him and he gave up.
Wow! You seem like you're a true New Yorker!
CD guys are scum thugs. How many people use CDs anymore?
no way were you stalking me or something? XD jk but like I was there late Nov and did just about the same as you
You can tip with your card, I hope you didnt take much of the waitress' time
Thanks for the tips! I'm fro. Upstate NY and this is my very first trip to the Big Apple (and I'm assuming New Yorkers don't call it that) lol
I only stayed 3 nights in nyc. I need to come back, amazing video
Honestly the whole tipping thing puts me off the most. I don't understand why I'd be responsible for paying their staff's wages. Tipping in the UK isn't necessary because the staff get an actual salary. America, this is pre-historic. sort it out!
For tips, 20% minimum for waitstaff - and in cash. Takes them forever to receive the cash if they are tipped by card.
Hi from Mexico City, i love your videos
Thanks for watching!
Haha! We are not mean, but if you slow down while walking to take a pic we will yell at you.😂
First, as an alternative to Top of the Rock, consider the Summit at One Vanderbilt, which opened in the fall of 2021, and thus after this video.
The yellow cab line is cheaper...and not a long wait...
Great videos! Very accurate and to the point. Old time New Yorkers always double the tax to compute the tip. (you can round-up). Please do not walk three abreast. The streets are a form of transportation. Ubers have become pricey so do not dismiss a yellow cabs out of hand. Halal carts can be very good and cheap and a step above Mc D. thanks!
Great video. Thank you ♥️
Tipping culture is something I hate, and I think consumers are starting to wise up to it.
Winter temperatures
Nights are cold and frigid, between −2 and 4 °F (−18 to −15 °C).
If I see you stop in the middle of the sidewalk I will come out of my apt and yell at you. 😂😂😂😂. I will remember that!
Arthur Avenue isn't the new Little Italy. It has been around for decades!
Do nicer restaurants / bars have a no sneaker policy? Don't want to have to go back to the hotel to change shoes for evening wear. Thanks!
Sitting target for thugs...
Your videos are incredible thank you 😊
I agree about the Empire State building, beautiful but I did find it underwhelming and would love to have seen Central Park in the view (next time ill do top of the rock) and also so many people taking selfies and crowded!
Thanks Sarah! Your videos are so helpful. I’m visiting NYC in 1 month! Can’t wait
