Mercy me is awesome!! My favorite song by them is: I can only Imagine!!!! People are different, and that's why spiritual music is different so everyone can enjoy it!! The Good Lord loves it!!!
I did a church plant a few years back, and we did a community outreach program called Tavern Hymns to get people from the streets in the doors. It’s exactly what it sounds like. We would book a bar or a brewery for several hours and play hymns in different styles. We would do a song in straight-ahead rock, then a bluesy hymn, then a “boom-chicka” folk/country style hymn. Come Christmas time, we did Tavern Carols in the exact same way. It was a massive success! I’d never seen a church grow so fast in the span of 2 years. It started in the back of the pastor’s CAR DEALERSHIP! It grew too big for two services within a year, so they rented out a local private school’s gymnasium (it was big!). A year later, they outgrew that and moved into a space of their own where they are still growing today. If you’re interested, look up Gospel City Church in Arlington, TX.
Most people who listen to KLOVE have that KLOVE moment when you hear the song you need at just the right time, and it speaks to your soul. I had been listening for a few years, and never really had that moment until this past summer, when I caught this very song, right when I was waiting to hear whether or not I had cancer after a surgery. This song touched my heart and I knew I'd happily accept whatever God sends my way, because the answer to that question won't change my faith. I finally got my answer and it hasn't changed my faith, except perhaps to deepen it. There's no running from our God, He pursues us with love and patience. Jesus, I will cling to you, come what may!
"Even If" was part of a playlist I listened to frequently following the unexpected death of my 22 y/o granddaughter last year. The grief was almost unbearable, but this song reminded me that my hope is in Jesus and that Caitlyn had a strong faith in Jesus, too, as her Lord & Savior. I still don't understand WHY... but It Is Well With My Soul.
I am crying for you and your family.... prayers for strength coming your way....so sad for your devastating loss. Thank you Jesus for welcoming this granddaughter into your arms.... It's going to be so exciting to see everybody again.
@@chrisa.3925 you can’t say she’s in heaven, neither can Cindy. Her heart could’ve been far from Jesus, no matter how much she may have proclaimed it. I’ve lost far too many people I know were away from the Lord, no matter how much they said they were Christian. The fact you say it’s exciting to see people again, you truly need to submit more, the only reason you should want to go to heaven is to be with Jesus, you can’t be disappointed that others you loved aren’t there. After all, we are to love everyone and most people go to hell. It’s going to be holy in heaven, make sure you all stop sinning and trust in Jesus to save us from our well deserved damnation.
@@MLGB0Yz No one can say with 100% certainty who is or isn't going to Heaven. MY HOPE is in Jesus & He is my reason for yearning for Heaven. I have people I love dearly who reject Jesus & others who Talk the Talk but don't Walk the Walk. But I have hope... and pray that repentance comes in time for each. My granddaughter & I did have a long talk a few weeks before she died that brought me comfort & hope about her trust in Jesus. I may be proven wrong eventually, but that is not for me, you, or anyone else to decide. Trusting Jesus and turning to Him in times of failure and doubt gets me through Life until I have fulfilled God's plan for me.
@@CindyNavarro The good shephard does not lose his flock. If your grand daughter was saved by Jesus then nothing can seperate her. The doctrine of falling from grace is not in the bible. I was Raised Catholic, fell away from God in my teens, rediscovered His glory in Methodist church at 30 when I became a Father. However, I was just plodding along without a faith relationship. The song I Can Only Imagine hit me hard, made me ask about of "Why" questions of faith and purpose. Now at age 50, in twenty years I have learned that faith is about community. Supporting others selflessly, giving without expectation of return, prayer and care for those who do not want it. I have had ALOT of great music pass thru my ears, but none have hit me directly in my prideful male heart like those of MercyMe. "Even If" goes right there to the top of the list. A faith relationship with Christ is a painful, beautiful, confusing, blessed, dark and bright-white light of a marathon with no end. Those who experience the warmth of that have a gift to share. Thanks for reviewing this. I encourage everyone to look up Bart Mallards testimony about this song, and his battle with faith while his son is hurting. It is a raw glimpse into a broken heart that only God can mend.
A very beautiful song, it us so uplifting and comforting... He walks with us through the dark, He shines most brightly in our darkest times... Your dissertation right after the song really poorly time... If God is with nothing and no one else matters, my Bro... We're better off just take the mindset you're free to call it what you want... If we're praising our Lord, that's ALL that counts...
This song reminds me of a quote from one of my favorite tv shows, “if you’re gonna have faith, you can’t just have it when the miracles happen, you gotta have it when they don’t.”

I agree with your dislike of Christian nitpicking. Falling in love with Jesus had nothing to do with religion for me, in fact most organized religions pushed me away. Once I ignored all the nonsense and bickering of organized religion and focused on Jesus and His unfailing love, I fell head over heels in love with Him. Our Lord is now the greatest love of my life and every day is full of joy! Now instead of collapsing under my burdens, I lift them up to Him and trust He will either cure them or give me the strength to bear them. He hasn't failed me, ever. May your new year be blessed and full of joy! Thank you for your channel.
Mercy Me has said many times in the past that their music style was influenced by the bands they listened to in their youth - U2, Bon Jovi, Tom Petty. The true beauty of this is the fact they can write music that strikes a chord of familiarity with the world and draws the listener in to know and understand the truth of God’s love, mercy and power. Another song that really does this well is Sparrow by Tenth Avenue North.
I'm into all music styles. meaning instrumental style. But saying, " yeah yeah, uhu uhu , like Jay z, now thats pride. And rappers with argumentative, tuff tones of voice in Christian rap, that's pride garbage. You supposed to sound humble. You don't need to sound like the world to influence anyone into becoming interested in God. The Holy Ghost is the one who draws people in to repentance. The music style has nothing to do with it. Blessed are the feet of those who PREACH the gospel. Not the feet of those who use music style to bait the world in. The people of the world are either gonna want your bait, which is the world, or they'll want the new life that God offers through his son. Most Christians don't know and don't even believe or care to understand, that if the tribulation starts today, which is imminent, they will have to get beheaded in order to go to heaven. Because ain't no pre-tribulation rapture. Plus, Christian music is from us to God, not us to the people. Music was made for us to worship God. It's not to make money or gain popularity and dove 🕊️ awards.😏 tsss
love the story of Horatio Spafford. He lost almost everything in the Chicago fire. His very young son died as well (I don't know if he died before or after the fire). He decided that he and his family would visit family in England. He sent his wife and 4 daughters ahead and he would join them later. He found out the ship had sunk. He received a telegraph from his wife that said, "I alone survived." As he was crossing the ocean to get her, he wrote the lyrics to "It Is Well" as the ship crossed near where the other ship sank. That is faith!!
Bart wrote this because of a struggle he was going through with his son's health. There is a version of this where he gives his testimony first. You should find it.
I missed this reaction until today. This song came at a time of turmoil and attack in my marriage and my life. But what the enemy means for evil, My God works for my good. And at the end of a long hard journey, i now hear my husband of 20 years sing this song with grace and ability that has me shook. I know this song on my own for my own reasons. But to hear a newly rededicated believer sing with such abandon such praise, is my reward. And more. My cup runneth over. Thank you for this reaction. Contemporary, traditional, classical, whatever. Its Jesus
If the music stirs your soul, makes you raise your hands in surrender to God, then it is Godly music. God hears our cries and feels our emotions, no matter who wrote or sings the song.

Thank you for doing this song reaction! Great the way the audience joined in at the end of the video. I feel that many of these contemporary Christian songs are earnest prayers to the Lord. More MercyMe please.
This song helps me every day. Over this summer I became very sick. I almost lost my life twice. I was comatose for over a week. When I woke I had no use of both my legs. Through prayer, faith and hard work I regained the use of my left leg, and the use of my hip and knee of my right. I have paralysis of that ankle and foot. Nerve testing is incomplete as to whether or not I will regain use. I have pain all the time and when it's really bad I will listen to or think of the words to this song. I honestly believe that God performed a miracle. I was told I'd probably never walk. God laughed at that. I am walking. And slowly I'm introducing the use of just a cane. But like the song says even if I don't get the use of my foot back. My hope in Him never dies. And the sweet day he does call me home, I will be whole again.
Agree with the walls built up when giving labels for worship songs. Whatever causes chaos and division is not from God. Jesus came so we can have a personal relationship with God. So that we can worship Him in our own way in the new temples which are our own hearts.

I absolutely agree with you. I know that I personally have found some Christian speed metal bands that I absolutely love. Two of my favorites are Impending Doom and For Today even though they broke up.
You make a good argument about people worrying to much about sounding to secular with Christian music, but if I may, there is a flip side to that as well. I have seen the opposite occur where hymns are thrown out of a church's catalog because they were not contemporary enough. This alienates people who take comfort in joy from the old hymns of their youth and makes them feel as if they are no longer wanted. There is a division in Christianity over nothing more than the music we listen to and desire to sing. It is a sad state of affairs when the church allows something that is supposed to be comforting, uplifting & praise filled to cause such strife. That being said, one of my favorite experiences is to sit up in the balcony and watch the 80 year old's sing at the top of their lungs, newer praise music accompanied by drums and guitar while standing next to the 16 year olds who have just belted out their best version of an old hymn that could only sound right with an organ accompanying it. When we remember who we are supposed to be focusing on when we are singing praise, it all seems to work out.
Any song that praises God, and brings you closer to Him I'm thinking, God will approve.
I so agree brother, praise and worship is for the Lord, everyone’s Lord, the only category.

I absolutely agree with you. I know that I personally have found some Christian speed metal bands that I absolutely love. Two of my favorites are Impending Doom and For Today even though they broke up.
Man! Great argument there about the whole Christian music and contemporary thing.

Even if you don’t.. it is well with my soul.

It's called spirit inspired!
I'd love to see you react to Well Done by The Afters. Such an amazing song 💕
