I’ve tried every single brand I didn’t try the KTM or gas gas but I did try husky so that’s close enough for me and my conclusion is they’re all honestly pretty damn good, I was able to get every platform competitive set up the way I wanted it to
Any of the CRF 450 0r 250 you swing a leg over your going to like it & yeah the newer bikes have changed quite a bit but is the weekend warrior going to feel or know what to feel for when they ride a brand new bike compared to A 10 year old bike. I'm sure they'll feel power difference on newer bikes but the older bikes always ripped just fine.
I personally like the last gen Honda. Reason I bought 2. I’m guys like me tho idk that we will ever take advance of these bike completely gain a ton of speed.
I bought a new 2022 FR450L. And the suspension is the stiffest suspension on any bike. I've ever rode in my life. I took it to a suspension specialist and it came back just as stiff.??? That's the only thing I absolutely hate about that bike I already. Did four thousand dollars of upgrades!!!! There's got to be somebody that can make that front and rear suspension soft???
It was probably too soft to begin with since they’re soft from the factory. Many people make that mistake, thinking it’s stiff when in reality it was just too soft. When it comes to suspension, the tuner will often take your words literally and make the settings based on what you said. Many spend allot of money going in the wrong direction because they heard it on some forum from people who point them in the wrong direction. What you probably felt in stock form is the low speed valve setting. More low speed dampening for feedback (some describe it as harsh or stiff), but still soft and will blow through the stroke with a heavier or fast rider. If you want a plush bike you’ll want to avoid race settings and get it setup as a plush trail bike. Assuming that’s what you’re after. Less low speed, more bottoming resistance.
I used to have a fleet of Hondas and after trying every other brand I’ll never go back, nothing beats Ktm, Yamaha comes close with their suspension being so good but overall and reliability Ktm is unmatched.
Radiator scoops are ugly. Still a weapon. Honda need to start producing some great shit again. They seem to be falling behind in much of the top tear racing.

I agree, but I wish they'd return to more of an 08/09 look because the shrouds actually looked the Honda 'wing' logo and it was very fitting

Ironman my home track live in Indianapolis. Ironman is an amazing track dirt and jumps better than the cali tracks imo. Look how perfect it is.
