You're getting fancy! Love the intro! Appreciate the explanation and information on what is an obsolete! Great notes and fantastic collecting idea with coins in the vignettes. Thanks Ontario.
Good idea for a collection lots of crossover appeal. What makes note a remainder and what’s the difference from an obsolete? Can a note be both remainder and obsolete?
I see you have notes which show coins, which I know you collect as well, kinda combines both interests 👍I always thought all obsolete currency was printed by private companies but American Banknote Co did print for state banks, which would be the reason for allegorical figures being used on multiple notes. Not sure if they printed for merchants, mechanics, railroad issues.BTW, Robert Scot, the first US engraver, was part of forming ABNCo.The oldest note I have is an 1814 Maryland obsolete note, which is cool because it was printed while the War of 1812 was still going on.Awesome vid, nice work 👍
Ok. I’m sure you know this because they are your notes. You just didn’t mention it. The double reverse 5/10 had the picture of the same woman as one of the first notes you showed. I’m pretty sure it’s not a real person but it does appear. Also, there is part of a coin showing on the $5 as well!
Great video and nice collection. Thanks for sharing!
Sweet

Yes it can be both. Remainder means it was not signed or circulated. Thanks so much!!
