Hey that's a cool note how much are they worth ?
Neighborhood of $300
Funnily enough, I just made a video about this quarter yesterday. I got one last week from a shopping cart in Aldi. Lovely coin and a fantastic story.
So cool! 👍
Hi, I just subscribed today! I collect some coins, but i am starting to like the NOTES! I only want to only buy graded bills before 1900. Lower grades are fine with me ,as long as the bill is not ripped up. Can you point me to some bills for say around $200 or less, to star me off? Or is that too low to get started? Great videos!!! THANK YOU!!!
I am actually doing research for a video about notes for $250 or less. If you are willing to consider notes issued up to the late 1920's, here are a few to consider: Silver Certificates: 1899 $1 Black Eagle and the 1923 $1. Legal Tenders: $1 1917 Sawbuck, $2 1917 Bracelet Back and the $5 1907 Woodchopper. FRBN: $1 1918 Green Eagle. This should be enough to get you started. There are a number of others. I would suggest the book: Paper Money of the United States, by Arthur and Ira Friedberg. It is the bible of currency collecting. Great background information, value guide and lots of pretty pictures! Be sure to get the 23rd edition. They are around $50 on Amazon. This book would be my first purchase. Welcome to Currency collecting and thanks for subscribing!!
@@Ontario100 Thank you very much! I appreciate your great advice! I am going after the Black Eagle, and the Woodchopper to start! I just ordered the Book! Do these notes seem to appreciate in value over time? Some coins swing up and down in value, but it seems to me these notes should be a more stable long term investment? LOOKING FORWARD to your video on the v$250 notes! Have a Great day!!!!
The value of these notes do not move much. These would be for collecting not really investment. You have a good day as well.
Thomas heart Benton nicknamed “old bullion” for his staunch support of the Gold Standard. I love this note. Yours is nicer than the one I owned in vf20 edge damage I sold for $825. I would guess this is a $1300 note at least. I’d like to replace it at some point. It was one of the few I sold because I just can’t stand anything with a details grade. Maybe get a nice comment free 30-45 someday
Thanks for the additional information! Sadly, comment free 25's are in the low $2k's these days. Prices of these notes have moved up in the last couple of years. The key is a comment free example. I also prefer comment free notes were possible. Thanks!
Great shoutout Ontario! Dustin is a great guy
Thanks O! Appreciate the shout out
My Pleasure! ❤️
Love both your channels!
Beautiful notes!
Wow!
Awesome note.
Gorgeous note!
Awesome 👍😊
Truly beautiful! What a great note and an awesome pickup Ontario. Very cool and I am also in the hunt for the same note. One of my favorite eagles is on this note. Keep it coming. Thank you my friend and love that “trinary” 😉
Thanks, my friend. Trinary. LOL 😆
@@Ontario100 🤣 you’re welcome 😇
Nice note. Gold certificates came to an end in the United States with FDR's legislation in 1933.
Yes. Indeed! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Beautiful note. Congratulations!
Thank you very much!
I believe the 1922 $100 gold certificate is the only series that kept the same design as the 1882.Not sure why.1907 series was the first for the $10 gold certs.I think all the others stayed the same between the 1907's and 1922's, except technicolor note. What a new addition to your collection, wow
Thanks, my friend.
Wow! That’s a really impressive note! Just think about how much you could buy with a $100 bill like that back in the 1920s! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching. Incredible that these are still around for us to collect.
Please how can i sell it
Double eagles have about $2,500 worth of gold in them at today's market prices. I don't know where you are located, but I would seek out a precious metal dealer. They can sometimes be found at major coin shows. Good luck with the coin.
I have this 1904 liberty head double eagle
Ok, question for you. On the 1899 US $5 silver certificate with Indian chief, the bill is ungraded, appears uncirculated but let us say the actual condition is somewhere in the AU range if submitted, how high would you be willing to go on it? Same question for the 1901 $10 Bison note. Thank you.
Thanks for the question. I am very cautious of ungraded notes. These would cost approximately $10,000 for the pair. That is a big a risk to take . My advice would be to stick with graded notes..
@@Ontario100 Thank you. Strong bidding but sitting $1175 on the 5 and $1775 on the 10 with 3 days to go. My thought is to get them below retail and then submit for grading. I think both could make AU. Probably will end much higher. Beautiful notes though.
@@Ontario100 Strong bidding finished 2600 on the 5 and 4000 on the 10. Too rich for my blood. Shows the popularity of these two notes.
Yes. These are always popular. Thanks for letting me know. 👍
Very nice 💯🙂
It's very beautiful. Although I don't like the large notes since they are more prone to cuts and breaks.
Awesome currency 💲💵😊🎉🎉
Amazing piece of history! I love your channel so much, Ontario, thanks for posting and being a cornerstone in this community!
Thank you for the kind words. I appreciate all the support! ♥️
I am guessing that you bid against me on that $100 1890 Treasury note, and you won or that $5 1875 NB note. I was in the long beach $50 1880 Legal tender and lost. But congrats on your note.
All those are great notes. I won the 1882 $5 Brown Back with Charter number 1000. Not an expensive note, but love the colors and of course the number. Thanks!!
I’m going with the Morgan back 😉 All amazing notes Ontario and great idea for a video 😎🤙🏼
That is a great note, but no. I wish I had the funds to bid on more notes. Some of them went for a lot less than I thought. Thanks
@@Ontario100 very true I was surprised with some of those notes going for under $1000.00
You finally got your Watermelon! Congratulations!!!😜
🎉 Yeah! That's it!! LOL LOL LOL I wish. Thanks. 😆
Those are some expensive notes! I would say you bought the 1880 $5? Thanks for sharing!
I picked up the 1882 $5 BB from Charter number 1000. Thanks for guessing!
The 1880 $5
Yes. I picked up the 1882 $5 Brown Back from Charter Number 1000. Thanks!!
Was it the five dollar Hawaii?
No, but thanks for your guess. That is a great note. I really thought it would have brought a little more.
@@Ontario100 I agree! I have to get on Heritage and spice things up!
Vary enjoyable. I even bid on a couple of them. 😊
Cool. There were so many interesting notes in these auctions. Thanks!
And by the way, I think you bought the first one. Because of the serial number.
Thanks for the guess. That is a great note, but I bought the 1882 BB with charter number 1000.
I’m hoping it’s the Roswell, NM National! Great video recap of the auctions thank you,
Good Guess, but nope. Hope you are having a great weekend.
$50 Gold Certificate. You have the $10, so this seems logical, otherwise you. Picked up one of the $5 notes. :-)
Thanks for guessing. Sorry not the $50, but that is a great note! You are getting warm when you said one of the $5's.
I know you have quite a few notes, but I can't remember all the notes you showed in the past, but I will guess the 1886 $5 silver cert
For some reason,I'm in the mood to watch The Honeymooners😉
LOL
That is a beautiful one, but alas not that one. Thanks
Nice note! There's only supposed to be six surviving 50s and five of them are on eBay!
Oh wow. I will head over to eBay. Thanks for watching and commenting.
That’s a monster note! Wow! Thanks for sharing not often you get to see this note outside of a paper money catalog.
Thanks. It's just a 6, but I don't care. It's the best looking 6 I have seen. LOL
Great note! Thanks for sharing!
Glad you liked it!
This note is awesome! I’m glad you bought it and shared it with all of us. Thank you Ontario 😎🤙🏼
Very nice. Surely very rate now.
I think Robert Morris doesn't get enough credit as a founding father.George Washington stayed in his house while President from 1790-1797 in Philadelphia while DC was being constructed.Washington never lived in the White House.Love the note buddy, and the black ink on back.I guess those weren't greenbacks😄
Yes, indeed. He is overlooked in history. Thanks for stopping by!
Nice oldie!
What a monster note! 👍
Don't see these often. Thanks!!
Very nice!
Thanks for the visit !
Nice. You should find a g$1 and $3 as well.
Actually,Hillegas shared that title with George Clymer, they were co treasurers until Clymer stepped down as Hillegas became sole Treasurer.Clymer is only 1 of 6 people to sign the Declaration and Constitution.Great note, love the big stars with the circle in the center
I've always called the first note an alternator. Nice to know the real name of the note. Thank you for the information on both those notes.
Glad to help. Thanks for watching and commenting!!
Congrats
Thank you very much!
I found a 5 dollar bill with a misprint
Good. There are things out there. 👍
Congrats on 10 years!
Thank you very much!
Ontariooooooooo! Man you keep hitting them out of the park. Beautiful Star Note for Sunday! And thanks for the information with it - really appreciate learning something more than a grade!
I'm trying. 👍
