I'm late viewing this, but it was very helpful as a fellow tiny writer. I have a Euphoria with a nib, and it must be defective. It's scratchy and I have to force myself to write with it. The ink flow is great, but I can't bear the feel and sound of it on paper. I wondered about sizing up to a nib, thinking maybe it was just me. I think I'll save myself the money and set it aside until I have enough experience to smooth out the nib myself.

That is such a bummer about your Euphoria nib! I'm so sorry. It definitely sounds like a defective nib, though, as I've since played around with multiple Schmidt nibs, and they've been pretty universally smooth. If you do decide to try and tune it yourself, please let me know how it goes.

Out of all of the Benu's, the Iced Caramel Latte is the one I would consider (just wish the hardware was gold instead of silver). I like how yours has a lot of white on the cap (lot's of foam)! I love my cursive italic grinds. I just tried my hand at "grinding" my own on a Jinhao 82. Didn't come out too badly, but need to practice much more before trying on a more expensive pen.

I totally agree about wishing the Euphoria had gold trim. The silver has grown on me over time, though. Congrats on getting into customizing your own nibs! That's seriously such an awesome skill. You'll have to let me know how things turn out with your next nib. Thank you for watching!

    Great review!
I love both my Euphoria (Caviar) and Talisman (Dragon's Blood) in M & F.
I took a long time to buy into the Benu hype, but I happened into the Caviar on a great sale and was blown away in every aspect. Waited for a similar sale and ordered the Talisman with identical results.

The Caviar is such a lovely colorway - definitely one of the ones I've felt drawn to. I've been thinking about the new Earl Grey Euphoria from Goulet Pens, along with a couple of the Minimas, but haven't made a move yet. Thank you for watching!!

I'm a big fan of BENU pens but I loathe coffee 😝 so I ordered the Cookies & Cream Milkshake Euphoria. You may have fun trying your broad nib with an ink like Organic Studios Nitrogen as it will allow for an extreme amount of sheen. For what it's worth, the BENU pens that use the smaller #5 nib are offered in extra fine. Best wishes. 🤗

Hmmmm... I may have to try out a smaller Benu if there's an EF option. The main reason I stayed away from the smaller ones (aside from the rather intensely bright colorways) was because I know most of them don't post. Now that I know I can live without posting them, though, all bets are off. Thank you for the heads up!!!

I am such a HUGE fan of the benu nib and smooth writers in general. But man they are so flashy and so gorgeous!

I'm definitely thinking of getting a Minima to try the EF nib they have. I really do love how smooth they are, but I think I need an EF for it to really work for me comfortably.

Schmidt nibs are crazy wet! I really like the fine and am able to write comfortably within the grid of my hobonichi journal. I really wish they did EF in the size 6 nibs. Considering getting a fine ground to EF to see if I like it.

That's wicked good to know about the fine nib being workable. I honestly loved the way the medium and broad nibs wrote - it was just not for my handwriting. It does seem odd that they don't make an extra fine, though, considering just how wet these pens write. I would have 100% picked one up already. If you do get a fine ground down, please let me know if you like it. Thanks for watching!! 😍

I bought the Benu euphoria in a medium nib and it is way too wet and hardly legible in my journal. I’m going to the Yoseca stationary fest. I’m wondering if somebody there could nib Meister my pen? Wish I had known this before.

Thanks so much for watching. I'm so sorry you're having a rough time with your Schmidt nib. I finally got my hands on a fine, and I do really like that one, but like you saw in the video, the medium was just too broad for me. I took a look at the exhibitors on the Yoseka Stationery Fest site, and it looks like there will definitely be nib meisters there. CY who did Esterbrook's Techo nib will be there, along with Gena Salorino (Custom Nib Studio). Gena did the Journaler for Esterbrook, which is my absolute favorite nib grind. You can find the exhibitor list here, and I'm sure more names will be added as time goes by: stationeryfestival.com/exhibitors

Beautiful pen! I didn't like Benu's first when I saw them but have gotten used to their sparkliness and colours and now I love them... even though I don't have one yet. They are a little expensive unfortunately. 😇🩵🙏🙌

The new Earl Grey exclusive with Goulet Pens is another Benu on my radar because it's kind of subtle (but still has flair) like the Iced Caramel Latte. Thank you for watching!
