Yes good reefers are hard to find on auction, lots of cargo vans, this one was worth the headaches because tall roof and extra long

FixItNick the transit was designed by ford UK and ford Germany. Number one selling van in the UK and Europe is the ford transit custom. In general ford vans are the most sold. Sprinter copied the mk3 transit. We have all sorts of vans in UK. VW transporters. Mercedes. Vauxhall vivaro. Renault. Nissan. Citroen. All sorts 👍

The U.S. Transit is a different animal from the one in Europe, though. For one thing, it's rear wheel drive.

my mk 6 transit hi top needs some dents sorted but not that severe!!
here in US these run about $45-$50k for tall roof longest version with the freezer.

FixItNick I'm from Ireland. They are one of the main commercial vans here and in europe.
Got it, I thought ford copied sprinter and started making them in US to compete, didn't know they were around before
FixItNick Ford vans have been here forever. Mechanically a great van however the down side to them especially the Transit version is they rust within 5 or 6 years around the chassis and sills.
As we live in a wet damp climate and freezing temps in winter this causes problems. Ford never put copious amounts of undersealer on their van chassis. Here in winter roads are treated with grit and salt mixed and this attacks the metal.
VW, Nissan, Renault, Opel etc are well treated underside however.

Panel beaters are often underrated. Frustratingly, despite the many hours straightening or replacing chassis sections, spot welding, plug welding, mag welding etc. It’s always the painter who gets the credit for making the job ‘shine’ 😐
yes sir, but this van has not been sprayed yet, just with a rattle can for the time being so it doesnt rust around the door jamb welds, the rest of it is factory white

Impressive, but here in Italy a repair like that would be illegal...if the van takes another crash on the same place it will be a lot worse and dangerous.
In some countries yes, but in US since we have access to all the parts anything can be fixed if done right
FixItNick Has nothing to do wih availability of parts, just that after a car had a crash like that the VIN number will have a red cross in the central system and will not be able to get back onto the road without a firm technical check goverment related company.

legally can go back on the road as categorised as repairable.
Zanzi97 here in uk the van would be categorised and this damge is repairable so legally can go back om the road.love to have the v6 petrol auto here but even though we are an oil producing country(scotland) the 80% tax on fuel kills that idea.robbing goverment here.

I work in the body shop “Metal Finisher” that this Ford Transit are Assembly at. I’ve worked on some messed up ones. But nothing like that. Great video. By the way, what’s wrong with the other Transit. The one without the AC unit on the roof.
Thanks man, other one was rolled over, but front was all good, I bought it as donor for the AC van build. The rolled over one I put back together and it's running and driving will put back on auction because don't need it now

FixItNick I am a dealer. Meaning I buy and sell cars legally from a small shop out of a commercially zoned shop (dealership) and we buy cars from a dealer ONLY auction. Some cars are AS IS (Red light) no warranty. You get what you buy, some cars are (yellow light) some warranty if it doesn’t work you could take them back and get your money but they were maybe frame damage and repaired, and some cars are (green light) meaning Off - lease cars with warranty and low miles. Ready to flip. Anything wrong with the green light cars take them back to the auction for a full refund.
