- Hi everyone,
Hope you are doing well.
My new single “Saturn” is out now. 🪐 I had so much fun making it and it’s been my favorite to make so far. Production is always an overwhelming thing for me, but with this one it was much more enjoyable and smooth. I hope that confidence continues to grow as I continue to make more music. 🌟 I love how this song is so different from my other singles. I think that’s a good thing, it keeps me excited and challenges me.
I wrote “Saturn” back in September of last year. The song is about wanting to be in a relationship with someone but there’s some sort of barrier that’s keeping you from approaching them. 🏹 Perhaps it’s distance, fear of ruining the friendship, they don’t know you exist, or other doubts/ insecurities. You talk yourself out of it. Wishing someone or something would tell you you’re meant to be with that person but you’ll honestly never truly know unless you just approach them, overcoming whatever obstacles. I think this is a relatable topic. The fear of exposing our true feelings to someone and worst case scenario, they don’t reciprocate those feelings back. 💔 That being said, I think that releasing the song in February, right before Valentine’s Day 💌 - a time when people are doing just that, exposing their feelings- was fitting for the song. You can send this song to your crush and bonus points if they wear a Saturn necklace. 🎧
Thank you to my cinematographer Lissa G. Ramirez 📸 for bringing my vision to life. All videos and photos were done by her. I hope you guys like the cover art as much as I do. 💗 I love how it has a romantic, dreamy feel that compliments the song so well. 💞
I hope you all enjoy the song. I really love this one so much. And thank you so much to all who listen to it and share it. 💓 I’m so glad it’s finally out. 🏹🤍

Lyrics:
Verse 1
Saturn is so far away
If only I could be the one that lies around your neck
You got my head spinnin around
Do you think about me too?
Or I could be one of the moons
Like the lucky ones you keep close to you
So much space, millions of miles away
Gravity keeps me down
My feet can’t make it off the ground
Chorus
Send me into space
Even if it’s dark
I’ll land amongst the stars
And forget about my doubts of making my way to you
And when I do
Can I wrap around you like your rings do
Or like the gem you always wear that kisses your neck?
Verse 2
You’ve got the whole world in the palm of your hand
I’m not hard to grasp
I know there’s a chance I could slip right through your fingers and drift far from land
I couldn’t bear to settle for anyone else but you
Chorus
Send me into space
Even if it’s dark
I’ll land amongst the stars
And forget about my doubts of making my way to you
And when I do
Can I wrap around you like your rings do
Or like the gem you always wear that kisses your neck?
Bridge
Do you see us written in the stars?
Or in your deck of cards?
All things I didn’t think I’d ever believe
Something to tell me we’re truly meant to be
So sick of this waiting game it’s made me insane
I can’t, can’t keep away
I’ll fall head first into the abyss
I don’t want you to be a regret I’ll miss
Chorus
Send me into space
Even if it’s dark
I’ll land amongst the stars
And forget about my doubts of making my way to you
And when I do
Can I wrap around you like your rings do
Or like the gem you always wear that kisses your neck?
Or like the gem you always wear that kisses your neck?

@@ursdreamily what's your daw of choice? :P
@@FriendlyAudio I currently use GarageBand and have only ever used Garageband so I can’t really speak too much on other DAWs. Personally, I love it cause I think it’s easy to use and is beginner friendly. And of course it was the most convenient option because it’s already on my MacBook.
I’ve heard a lot of talk about pro tools and Ableton and how they’re great DAWs. Plus a lot of producers use them so even if you don’t use them, I think it would be nice to educate yourself so you know what you’re doing if you ever get the chance to work with someone who uses those DAWs.
But what I will say is I’ve been wanting to upgrade to Logic Pro X. I just think it would be a great transition for me to go from GarageBand to Logic Pro. I’m not sure when that transition will happen because I still feel like I’m barely getting a grasp on producing in general.
To get to the point of your question, I just think it depends on you, your budget, and comfortability.
I hope this answered your question. Would love to know your thoughts!
@ursdreamily I've been using ableton for quite a while, and pro tools for a bit, it really depends on what workflow you're going for. As for me where I'm mainly doing analysis and using alot of plugins that I need to use in a very flexible manner ableton was an obvious choice and so far nothing else has come close for that workflow. But for mixing and mastering pro tools is king. FL has a great workflow for creating beats, Cubase for composition blah blah blah
What equipment do ya use?
@@FriendlyAudio I feel like I learned a lot with your reply haha. That’s awesome that you’ve figured out what works for you. I’ve heard of FL, I’ve never heard of Cubase.
My equipment is like the classic beginner standard pack lol. But honestly I love how it’s simple. I use the focusrite Scarlett solo, AT2020 mic, a MacBook. And then for gear, I have a fender squier strat, an FA 135CE acoustic electric, and a Roland midi piano. I’m hoping to purchase a bass in the near future! I’ve been thinking about changing my audio interface but who knows, it’s not a huge concern right now. But like I said the typical indie beginner starter pack, I love it though.
Any advice on equipment? or what’s been a huge game changer when it comes to producing music?
