I am happy that you see improvement in her recovery. I see she is still eating with one hand while supporting herself sitting up with the other. Have you noticed her losing any weight since her injury, maybe due to not eating as much as a result of competition with other squirrels. She looks a little thin for a squirrel this time of year. Praying for her complete recovery that will come in time 😘🐿❤🥰🙏

She was a pretty lean squirrel before the injury. They don't bulk up much here like they do in colder climates. She is still limited in what she can do, but she's in much better spirits and not in much pain. She's running around the garden during the day and finding nuts and burying them like she did before. Her jumping is only a couple feet at a time, at most, still. Today i noticed her beginning to test supporting herself and eat with two hands, which was new. So, yeah, she's doing better. At this rate, it'll be weeks before she's back to normal again, I think.

@@charlespatton3470 It is interesting how we become so attached to these precious creatures. We enjoy feeding them and monitoring all of their actions. When they get hurt, it pulls our heart strings and sometimes breaks our hearts. We never take them for granted and appreciate all they do for our minds.
I have noticed when we had squirrels with what we thought were hind end injuries, it did take a while (perhaps up to 3 months) for a complete recovery. This could of happened as a fall from a tree while being chased by another squirrel. There also can be additional injuries such as to the abdominal muscles or rib cage. The good thing is that she is not showing signs of paralysis. Squirrels are very resilient and fully recover from many things. It is good that you are watching her and she is returning. Keeping her properly fed and supplying her with fresh clean water will encourage her return and help in her recovery. Thank you for what you are doing and please keep us updated. I enjoy seeing her recovery 😘🐿❤😀🙏

How is Maryetta? Hope she makes a full recovery! You could consult a rehabber n maybe get Maryetta some help. DO NOT go to wildlife sanctuary though..they would put her down. A rehabber would at least try to figure things out and help her! Hope she does better and better!!!!

@@LV24-10 She is doing much better. Not jumping at 100% yet but she can make short jumps now. I'm not sure how serious of an injury it was, but its healing. She was too mobile for us to catch her easily when we first noticed, so we let her manage it herself. Thanks for caring!
