Stg idk who are in these kids ears but nil is an opportunity of a lifetime in its current state. Offering a kid straight out of high school 10mil and they haven’t played a single snap of college ball is insane. These kids don’t realize the leverage they have. TAKE THE MONEY! Game recognize game. Your game will speak for itself. Schools are stupid to pay a kid that much not knowing how'd he'd play in a tougher setting. He could flake after a year. That's twice as much as some rookies make after proving themselves for 3+ years. It's insane

There was no guarantee he was going to be good. You know how many qbs are ranked high that don't end up being worth 2 cents? Most of them. I wouldn't feel dispare. Michigan very well could end up being the losing joke with a kid that couldn't hit the broadside of a barn and be 13 million in the hole

Tom Brady also reached out to Bryce and offered to mentor him. I think that also played a role for Bryce flipping to Michigan along with the NIL. Why wouldn't this kid not want to be mentored by the greatest QB to play in the NFL? His parents said many times that his development was their #1 priority. Well having Tom Brady mentor you and teach you isn't a bad start to your development lol.

People act like this is such a huge deal, but for Underwood he just got paid 12+ mil over 4yrs to stay in his home state. Anyone would do this for that amount of money! But for kids who’re from down South and already have a SEC offer/commitment, it would take an enormous amount of money to get me to move up North to play in cold terrible weather, leave the best conference in the country, and move that far away from everything great in college football! I dang sure wouldn’t do it! There’s a reason why Saban said he would never live back up North after he moved to the SEC. 🏈 is 👑 in the SEC, it’s absolute dogs playing all across our conference, the weather is wonderful, the best players are down here already, and the girls are so much hotter in the South! I think Bryce had intended on playing his college career down here his entire HS recruitment but the money made the decision for him & his family in the end. Stay in the snow & frigid cold but get heavily compensated for the sacrifice!

@@dcouwlier From your lips to god's ears my friend! lol. And yeah, I'm not implying that what we did was/is somehow uniquely bad or anythin, the SEC has been paying players under the table for years - long before NIL came around, which was partly why they left all the other traditional blue-blood programs outside of the SEC in the dust in terms of the level of recruits they bring in. Whether that be Michigan, Penn State, Miami of FL, Florida State, USC, Oklahoma, or finally Notre Dame - with really only Ohio State and Texas being able to keep up.
With the other big reason being that those SEC powerhouse programs, (as well as most of the other blue-blood programs as well - like OSU for example), simply have significantly lower academic standards - which has really hurt Michigan when it coms to bringing in transfers. There have been a number of talented and highly sought after basketball players who've tried over the years to come to Michigan, but were unable due to them failing to meet our higher academic standards, specifically RJ Davis for example. Though i don't know of any examples when it comes to football, (due to the football program being insanely tightlipped about any and all of the goings-on's behind the scenes - unlike the b-ball team), I have to believe that this is the case for them as well.

That's not really how it went . Bryce was visiting Michigan behind the scenes and none of y'all knew about it. People at LSU are saying " oh man he didn't even step on mi campus since January". That's just not true. Also he didn't say he wasn't going to go to Michigan for 10.5. that was him trolling saying he likely wasn't taking it but he retweeted that from someone else as like him laughing that someone else is making up his mind for him. That was not his tweet it was a retweet that he was trolling. People took that way wrong and he took it down immediately. Most of y'all here on UA-cam are clueless except for a few from close to the university who are trusted insiders

Ohio puts 20 mil on multiple great players Michigan puts 10 plus mil on one player sounds like a Michigan failure to me
But Matt you need to talk about what saban said today about some court stuff that’s going to end in April and change the way nil works and be like caps and that you cause actually only get paid for real nil like if you really are famous and have a name not just because your a good player and nobody knows who you are and that the deal Bryce just took will basically be nonexistent after April because all the current deals people have will have to be restructured and have caps on them
