Italy is probably most famous for its red wines, as well as its sparklings, right? I mean, Prosecco is ultra-famous now, Moscato, we’ve talked about those in previous episodes, and of course the red wines from Piedmont, Tuscany, Abruzzo, Puglia or Sicily just to name a few are very well known and regarded on the international wine scene. But what about the whites? Italy is the largest wine-producing country in the universe so of course they make a lot of white wines too. Soo, let’s have a look into those… There’s so much to cover here, that we’re going to have to have 2 episodes dedicated to the white wines of Italy. Here we’ll look at the whites from the North, because that’s the majority of them, in our next episode we’ll look at the rest of the country. Let’s go…
00:00 - Best Italian White Wines
    02:12 - A Word on Pinot Grigio
04:05 - Northern Italian Classics: Arneis, Gavi, Soave
09:08 - White Wonders from Friuli & Trentino

Friuliano (formerly known as Tokai) is a very underrated white. I prefer these to all the usual offerings from this area like pinot grigio, pinot blanc, etc.
