I dropped mine after about 6 months . I was not injured other than a small scrape. The only scratch on the bike was on the big basket I had mounted on the back.I really like my radrunner plus, but in hindsight I would have purchased the smaller radrunner mini stepthru since I now know their products are sturdy. It would do the job And The 10 pounds less would make a difference in ability to “ manhandle” if you will, control the bike. ❤ your posts. Your posts and the” two tired teachers “ videos convinced me that rad rover was the brand I wanted. I have no regrets in my purchase without trying out the bike during covid . If those retired teachers could ride a bike, maybe I could too, despite my pacemaker and my recovering from cervical disc surgery. Not only was I able to ride the bike in spite of a small balance difficulty, but riding the bike actually improved my balance even when walking. I ride most of my miles on level one, the lowest assist setting. I use the throttle when starting out, in my opinion the most risky part of riding and when I temporarily traverse a busy road or intersection only. I try to ride on less traveled roads and bike only trails. I also use the throttle when I get a little hot in the Florida summer heat and it cools me off in 200 yards.
Love your videos. Could you please do a video showing battery drain on the rad throughout your day . Doesn't seem like any youtubers thought of that. Thanks
Don't feel bad, even the most experienced, and skillful riders fall down on occasion. Don't ask me how I know. The fact that you got back on that horse and rode says volumes about your character.
Is this a good ebike for getting good exercise with pedal assist? I have a Giant Yukon mountain bike 🚲 but I would love to ride a bike much further and explore more places with an electric bike. I would still love pedal assistance instead of just full throttle mode
I am thinking about getting one of these. I was watching your video and you really make it look like fun. then I saw the RR tracks and thought "does she see them" then I thought maybe fat tires make you immune from RR track or maybe you would turn to put yourself at right angles to it. Then down. I have fallen down enough in my life to know the pain, the slow healing skin and joints and the beloved bike damage, and the embarrassment. Bet you learned a good lesson though! Thanks for the video
I love my rr+ ebike. It is absolutely beautiful when you see it up close in person.. it appears very sturdy. I was expecting buyers remorse, never came close.
I was 14 years old, just got my mini Peugeot racer for my birthday. Was going too fast in my next door neighbor's driveway and down it went. Fortunately my dad sprung for the rear bike rack which took the hit so the bike was ok. Now my son has the bike, he is 25 years old and she still looks new except for the bike rack which has minor scratches. I turn 60 in 2 months and have been considering getting one of these bikes. I did NOT realize that they could go down so easily with such wide meaty tires. Your fall would have taken me out for a week. Please people, weigh in, should I just stick with my Honda CRV or venture out and try one of these? Thanks for a nice video, glad you were not seriously hurt : )
Definitely try one of these! Just be careful with oil slick driveways. I told myself I wouldn’t buy a car unless it was a Tesla, so for now this is my main transportation.
Oh ouch! I didn't need to see that. I'm happy that you weren't injured too seriously. I am expecting my Rad Runner Plus next Tuesday. Fortunately for me although there are dozens and dozens of RR tracks, none of them are buried in the streets like there in Seattle. I'm nearly seventy-three and am just a bit nervous about riding an eBike with 20" wheels.
@@Sappylittletrees FedEx delivered my new RR+ just before noon. The driver picked it up and carried it across the street and made me think, "Gee, maybe it isn't that heavy!" Holy Hanna was I ever wrong. I'm going to need someone to help me get it out of the box... :)
Do you ever drive the Radrunner Plus in the rain or snow? Does it need any extra equipment for these times? I’m planning to do UberEats and winter is coming in Canada, also lots of rain
@@Sappylittletrees oops, what does soft snow do? Doesn’t it have same effect like the rain? Also do you do maintenance every once in a while? If so is it expensive or take too long?
As long as the snow is not packing too high. Too many inches and you won’t be able to ride the bike at all. If the snow is melting on the ground you should be fine!
@@Sappylittletrees thank you so much for replying, 🙈 last question: do you take it to a bike shop regularly for maintenance? If so, is it expensive over time?

Riding it has actually improved my balance.

It comes tomorrow so I am very excited to ride through my city of Jacksonville near the St. Johns River. I enjoy watching you ride through Seattle keep it up! you have a great personality it makes all your videos intriguing to watch :)
Those damn tracks! I lived in Seattle for 22 years and had a few wipeouts for sure. Been in Oregon for a few years now and was such a joy to see the city again on a sunny day. Thank you! I just got my RR+ and am loving it. A bit of a beast in weight, but holy heck the thing flies. Take care and happy riding!
Those train tracks are no joke, you have to be careful with them next time. That happened to me on an old cobblestone street that had trolley tracks as a kid.
When you crashed, my heart skipped a beat… but when I saw that your skittles spilled across the pavement as well, I went into full cardiac arrest. This is why you should always have skittle side assistance too!!! 😜 For real though I’m glad you’re okay. Good thing your ok. I had a spill too. I now wear knee and elbow pads. Ebikes are not inherently more dangerous. However, they do allow 'anyone' to go much faster than they would normally on a non-powered bike. And that is where the danger lies. Great videos!
Hey! I found you searching for videos about the RadRunner Plus. After a LONG wait, I finally got mine this week. It's been great so far. Sorry to see your crash! Ouch. I hope you are all recovered. Nice to meet you. Thanks for posting.
I didn't read the title before watching and I genuinely cried out for you. Ouch! Those railway tracks are lethal, had a similar accident years ago and it threw me over and I broke my collar bone. Glad that you are ok or rather that you will be. Hope that your bike recovers as well. Looking forward to more vids and even a review of the bike when you have a chance. Ride safe.
Thanks for your video. I especially liked pulling up to the ATM on the ebike. I'm 70 and been riding for 50 years and hiking/walking joint use trails as well. Had my share of spills with my share of bang ups. Really admire your grit after you crashed. Get up and take care of it! Except for handlebars everything else on bike seems to have survived. Only comment on your video has to do with biking courtesy. Here in the east when we're passing walkers and other slower bikes from behind them on narrow paths we loudly announce "ON YOUR LEFT". It warns walkers as they sometimes unknowingly walk into bike's path or jump into bike's path due to being startled. It's a common courtesy and for safety. Some bikers feel embarrassed by announcing themselves...don't be. You can wear out your voice on a busy path but hitting and injuring yourself or a walker is not pretty. Please stay safe and have fun!
“Look at my Skittles!!” 😂😂 I’m so happy you’re ok! Everyone was so nice to help you out! I hope your knee and the the bike get better to ride again soon!

Hi: Nice ride, sorry to see you take such a nasty spill. Hope your knee is feeling better by now. I too am interested in the RadRunner Plus! I just haven't seen or read enough about the bike yet to pull the plug & order up. Especially given the lead time for preorder delivery is 3 MONTHS! That's a long time to put out that kinda coin & Not have anything to show for it. But I would like to ask you how you find your bike's acceleration. When you start off (Pedaling from a stop,) does the bike motor apply power gradually? OR (particularly in the high PAS 5) does the motor apply power suddenly once it senses that you are pedaling? I have heard some ppl say that bikes without a torque sensor, and i believe the RadRunner Plus & RadRunner 1 do not have torque sensor, these bikes may not apply power very smoothly once you start pedaling. What has your experience been in this regard.... thanks in advance, greg
There is absolutely no jerky feel when I am accelerating. Using pedal assist 1- 5 is very similar to using the throttle. Pedal assist just changes how fast the motor tries to get you up to max speed. Using the throttle the motor really screams lol I think it will be well worth it for you to buy one. Let me know if you have any more questions

@cuekwe Jones Thanks for your feedback also! I'm not really concerned about any lag. I'm more interested in if the acceleration was jerky or abrupt when the motor cuts in. My understanding is that the bike only senses that you have started pedaling, not how hard u are pedaling. Hence my concern that if you were in PAS 3 o4 4 say, when the motor cuts in it might be sudden or abrupt jerk from the motor?
