Thanks for this video! I like the alarm idea and going to do that too but I just got the Radrunner plus (old version not the 3) and I can't seem to find any reviews or info on what the best lock is for that model. I have the storage console too so need to know how to securely lock the bike with that and it seems like locking the back with the plastic guards on is impossible too. Thanks in advance for any help and info!

Enjoyed the vid. I've ordered the RadRunner 3+. I'm 84 so the design is perfect for me. I had RadRover for awhile but I kept falling over when coming to a stop. It really freaks people out when you are just waiting for a light and you fall over with a heavy bike on top of you. Yeah, balance issues for this old man. I also have a Fat Cat e-trike from Utah Trikes. It's my fun ride with fat tires bafang 750W motor and Nuvinci internal geared hub. I love e-bikes! I love in a small Montana mountain town in the Bitterroot Valley.

I dropped mine after about 6 months . I was not injured other than a small scrape. The only scratch on the bike was on the big basket I had mounted on the back.I really like my radrunner plus, but in hindsight I would have purchased the smaller radrunner mini stepthru since I now know their products are sturdy. It would do the job And The 10 pounds less would make a difference in ability to “ manhandle” if you will, control the bike. ❤ your posts. Your posts and the” two tired teachers “ videos convinced me that rad rover was the brand I wanted. I have no regrets in my purchase without trying out the bike during covid . If those retired teachers could ride a bike, maybe I could too, despite my pacemaker and my recovering from cervical disc surgery. Not only was I able to ride the bike in spite of a small balance difficulty, but riding the bike actually improved my balance even when walking. I ride most of my miles on level one, the lowest assist setting. I use the throttle when starting out, in my opinion the most risky part of riding and when I temporarily traverse a busy road or intersection only. I try to ride on less traveled roads and bike only trails. I also use the throttle when I get a little hot in the Florida summer heat and it cools me off in 200 yards.

Wow your Wonder Woman lifting the bike in the vehicle by yourself and fixing the breaks. And venturing out there by yourself. Looks like you had a good time.

I love my radrunner plus BUT, if I had it do do over I would would definitely consider purchasing the radrunner mini step thru or whatever equivalent that rad now sells. Why? 1. $500 cheaper. 2. Lighter bike 3. Foldable. I would recommend a bike that is stepthru. It is much easier to mount and more importantly, quicker to dismount in an emergency stop. If you are fifty years old or older definitely get a stepthru. I didn’t need a stepthru at 60 but did at 65. I expect the radrunner plus, at least the frame, wheels and maybe the motor to last the rest of my life if I don’t damage it. If you’re older at some point you will appreciate the stepthru and the 10 pounds less weight, if you get the mini, when moving it. Additionally, the less light makes it a little easier to control.

Two positives about a step thru design. Makes it much easier to mount, especially if your older or will be before you need to replace the radrunner. Also allows for a quick dismount in an emergency situation.
