i invented a strat i call death row here's how it works step 1: choose one half of the board to buy on step 2: try to own half the board (mainly the bottom half) because you get the park place and boardwalk. railroads and utilities are optional step 3: protect what should be yours. never let your rivals take what should be yours. if they do take back what's yours AT ALL COSTS! step 4: after half the board is owned by you upgrade to hotels when you can step 5: play the waiting game it's very expensive but if you do it right it will payoff trust me

We play with a rule where you don't collect rent while in jail to fix that exploit. In video game sense, we patched the glitch, because it fees kind of like a glitch that you can still get rent while in jail.
By the rules you are forced to leave jail on your turn: 1) use out-of-jail card 2) pay your way free before throwing dice 3) pay after throwing 3 times no doubles and move by last dices If you can‘t pay your way out you need to trade for money. If you can‘t pay, you are out and loose. But hey, who plays Monopoly by the rules ;)

It is significantly better to have 3 houses than 2. I have edited this part to be more accurate. The jump from 2 to 3 houses is the most significant. However the jump from 3 to 4 is also a positive by the laws of increasing returns. It is significantly better to have 4 houses than 3. The slope is still positive, however 3 houses is considered to be the minimum to have a really effective property. I honestly do not tend to agree with the advice to not buy hotels. You should absolutely buy hotels in almost all game scenarios except the very specific times in which you can control the housing supply. One instance where you may want to forego hotels is if you own 2 property sets, you have more income potential than your opponent. Building up both property sets consistently can reduce variance. In some instances, it can actually be worth it to forego more returns in order to reduce variance. This becomes very complicated but it definitely separates good players from bad players. More simply, are you going to definitely lose over time against your opponent? Then increase variance. Are your properties more valuable than your opponents? Then reduce variance. Do not give them that chance of the haymaker that knocks you out when you have better properties.
free parking is not really a thing. People just do that to add more luck to the game. Actually it just inflates the game's economy and this is what makes people think Monopoly is such a super long game.

The only useful tips (in my opinion) are that he says don’t buy utilities and buy railroads and that yellow are good followed by dark blue and greens
No going to jail is terrible in late games bc if someones got orange taken and has Hotels your cooked when you get out of jail

then you got the game wrong, because business is still running even if the owner is in jail
