    Thanks for watching! I'm glad to see a lot of you have found this video helpful :) A common question I'm getting is what my score was: I got a 511 (83rd percentile) and the breakdown was: 127/128/130/126 (in order: Chem/Phys, CARS, Bio/Biochem, Psych/Soc). PS: If you have any questions I do read and respond to comments so feel free to drop a comment below! Wishing you all the best in your studying.

    I just received the Kaplan 7 book subject set in the mail with the online Qbank. Do I have to remember every single thing on every page of the books or does focusing on the High yeld sections work good enough. There’s about 500 pages per subject book. And to remember everything seems impossible.

      I would say study the same way you would for a bio/chem course in college. You don't need to know every detail of every page but I would read all of it and use the practice questions at the end of each chapter and the AAMC exams to gauge how much detail you need to know.

    Thank you so much brother. Currently, I am about to finish undergraduate(pre-med) is it necessary to start early before graduation? English is my second language that is why want to give myself time to study ahead. Let me know if is the right time to purchase Kaplan text books.

    Hi, I know this video is old and I hope you have time to answer my question. I'm debating between the self-paced and live online prep course. In your video, you love the Kaplan online resources, which the self-paced course allows 5 months of videos, Q-banks, and more. Do you think starting my MCAT prep would benefit in self-paced or live online?

    • @ZachRana1
      @ZachRana1  4 роки тому +1

      Rose Blot I think it’s up to how you work best. If you need someone else to hold you accountable and talk you through the process then the live online would be good. If you’re already good at self-study (for me I had some bad professors and had to teach myself entire courses sometimes) then I would go with self-paced. Hope this helps :)

    In terms of books, would you recommend The Princeton Review books or Kaplan books?

    • @ZachRana1
      @ZachRana1  3 роки тому

      Hmm that's a good question. I have only used the Kaplan books so that's all I can speak on and they worked quite well. I've heard that the Princeton review ones work too but are a bit more dense. But again, I didn't use them so that's just what I've heard.

  • @Piequalse
    @Piequalse 4 роки тому

    How would you use the Kaplan CARS book? I’ve heard that it’s better to do passages and learn from mistakes because there is no actual content to learn. So should I read the whole thing?

    • @ZachRana1
      @ZachRana1  4 роки тому

      I read about half of the book and didn't find it very helpful so I stopped reading it lol. Honestly it's not that long so if you would feel better reading it and knowing things like the different questions types, common pitfalls, etc. then you might want to read it. Otherwise, I found that making those mistakes myself on practice tests and learning from them worked well for me and I improved from scoring 70th percentile to 90th on CARS just through practice and review.

    • @Piequalse
      @Piequalse 4 роки тому

      ZR Fitness I’ve read the first few chapters it’s helpful to get my mind into the reading zone. I feel like the chapters on understanding passages and question answer strategy might be worth my time. The passages at the end of chapters also seem worthwhile. Should I purchase practice tests individually or buy the bundle from the AAMC. I feel like 4 or 5 practice tests isn’t a lot but each one does take a day.

    • @ZachRana1
      @ZachRana1  4 роки тому

      Andwun I would get all of them honestly if you have the time to take them. I took one a week and then studied my mistakes and reviewed chapters for week points in my content knowledge.

    I know this is a long shot but, do you think utilizing these Kaplan books as a study tool for someone who does not have a science background work? Thanks!

    • @ZachRana1
      @ZachRana1  4 роки тому +1

      I think it depends on how comfortable you are with teaching yourself. I would say start studying the books and see how well you learn. If you’re still struggling after self study then you could enroll in a course. But I think everything can be self-taught.

    If I buy the self paced course, would they teach me the best test strategies or not?

    • @ZachRana1
      @ZachRana1  3 роки тому

      I'm not sure exactly what you're question is, but they go over the same testing strategies in self-paced vs. synchronous classes if that's what you're asking. The synchronous classes are better if you want more accountability

    • @ZachRana1
      @ZachRana1  5 років тому +1

      I found the Kaplan books, AAMC flash cards, and AAMC practice tests to be the most helpful. If you got those three things (around $250-$300 total) you should be set! Kahn academy videos also help when learning a new concept and they’re free!

    • @ZachRana1
      @ZachRana1  5 років тому

      I would practice recalling equation yes (the flash cards help with that) and also get as much multiple choice practice as you can.
