Great looking box set, and fantastic version of Low Budget! The PiL poster that just says "POSTER" reminds me of a metal sign that used to be hanging in my workplace. It said "Caution - the edges of this sign are very sharp. Do not touch the edges of this sign."

Hi Mike, the PiL box is great, I’m very jealous, defo my favourite PiL album. I didn’t know Ginger Baker et al were on the album. Probably a good job they didn’t tour. I can’t imagine John Lyndon and Ginger Baker managing to make it through day 1 without falling our spectacularly let alone a full tour. Great Performance more Kinks please 🙏. Andy

Thanks James, the Kinks have got a lot of great guitar riffs in their repertoire, they are good strong riffs to learn that you can easily play along with. Low Budget is a stadium anthems record, well worth pursuing. Mike

Demos and outtakes can be extremely interesting. I’ve never heard of Ralph’s either. Must be regional. EBay is a crapshoot so I’m happy it worked out so well for you. Great fun Gary, have most recipients of the challenge now responded? Sorry the band didn’t do it, but it would have been a few more weeks and I wanted to do it for you now. Thanks for including me in the video challenge. Album is a great record with some great performances especially Stevie Vai and Ginger. Mike

Just catching up on videos, and here you are with a threefer! All Mikes are cool, but you would know that already. 😉 When that PIL was first released I was just starting to buy CDs so that is the format of my copy. That is a beautiful book with the box set. Really nice. I like how they kept the generic labelling thing going with "Book!" What an excellent live performance of Low Budget! I loved it, and also your blazer is fabulous! ✌
All Mike’s are indeed cool and funky and I’ve heard it said highly intelligent beings 😂 …or is that just us Mike 😂 I’m loving the PiL Album boxset, my favourite album of theirs. Glad you liked my Kinky warbling and blazer! 😂 Mike

Some good information about that P.I.L album. Interesting there was basically a super-group for the recording.
Steve Vai toured New Zealand last year by the way.

Oh good a Doyen box unboxing!!! Mike got me into Yard Act too. I've got both albums and a 12". Great band. That 10" seems right up my alley too. I have the square Metal Box box set and I'd have to say that's my favourite album. Although they're all pretty damn great. That is a beautiful box and well presented by the Doyen Of The Box. That's bizarre that Laswell didn't think a road hardened band weren't up to snuff, but you can argue with that band he put together. Bloody hell! Doyen what sort of amp do you use. That's a great guitar tone you've got. Cheers....The Bish
Hi BofM, I’m trying to get the Super Deluxe boxset of Metal Box, I have original, but the Deluxe boxset is really expensive in Blighty. Yes, lots of great PiL albums but Album is just my ‘go to’ for PiL. The guitar tone was a ‘56 relic Strat going into a little AC15, low master, virtually max channel volume, lots of guitar, no pedals. Lovely bit of distortion! 😁 D🎸

When a mate got me into the Jam in 1978, aged 11, it changed everything to me end I suddenly discovered The Kinks, Small Faces and The Who. I’d love to see your tribute band one day! Take care fella.

Mike, that was some great VCLT, and wow what a cool boxset of a great album. And so cool that you got tickets for a Q&A, I would love to listen to that, hopefully you get the chance to get something signed, If I would get one of those boxset cards signed by him I would frame it asap.
