Timurids(the dynasty) called themselves Gurkani, which means "in-laws", cuz Timur married a descendent of Genghis Khan, so he was Genghis Khans in-law. Baburid brench kept this official name, despite Babur being fully descendent of Genghis.
As for the people, they did not call themselves Uzbek yet, but Chagatai.

In most of my runs as Ajam into Persia I've focused military and gone in on the Timurids as soon as A) I'm on tech 4, and B) Shah Rukh dies. As long as the subjects are disloyal their armies stay in their borders, so I've been able to crush the Timurid army, siege the fort on the Baluchistan border, and then just siege as much as I needed to to grab Shiraz, Yazd, Kerman and the province with the fort in it from the Timurids, before turning my attention north. Sometimes it's frustrating but it usually works out.

This my first proper King of Kings campaign and so far I am loving it. I took a slightly different route, though, by keeping the Persian ideas. I'm not absolutely certain they're better, but I kind of felt like they are. They have more of the bonuses I usually focus on. The most important of these, that you sadly lose with Eranshahr's ideas, are goods produced +10%, discipline +5%, and dev cost -5%. You get some better ideas in return like more cav combat ability and 3 or 4 completely unique bonuses, but they don't really seem worth it. Maybe I'll try them in another campaign though. -20% overextension impact looks like something, that could be powerful during the age of absolutism and later.

timur was more turkish than ottomans.
thats why when they attack anatolia, turkmen tribes sided with him.
some historians says turkmen beyliks in anatolia invited him to fight against ottomans.
and ottoman army was basically christian knights and devshirme balkan soldiers against him,
ottoman never had a chance and completely lost anatolia until death of timur.
actually he was thinking to conquering china but first he wanted to destroy ottoman threat at his back.
after that he died on the road of china.
if he lived he probably would destroy the ming dynasity.
he said himself a mongol to claim genghiz's succession.

Never make the closest province a war target, cause the province you made a war target in a conquest/reconquest war will become cheaper to take in a peace deal. Cannot remember percentage (25 or 33) but it's quite significant for a high developed province.
Sometimes it will help you to annex a nation with 105% percent of war score for all of their provinces if you made their highest developed province a war target (it may cost 98% war score or less).

Official name of Timurid state was “Gurgani” which is Turko-Mongolian word (Kurakan) for “son in law”. Because Timur was married one of the Chingizid princesses. And Timur himself mentioned in chronicles as Amir Timur the Kurakan. He never was an official sultan, emperor or anything, because he wasn’t a Chingizid.
In fact main argument of Shahrukh against Ottomans was: we are the Gurgani, the son in law of the mighty Chingizid, who the hell are you?!
After that Ottomans created that fake family tree claiming themselves as descendants of Oghuz Knagan.

ive seen the ai form this nation as zorastrian and it seems so rare, they got released from timurids, converted by rebels, and then managed to beat all the other small nations released in the area!

Someone should try to form Zoroastrian Persia as Mazandran. It would make some sense historically speaking and their EU4 icon is litteraly the Derafsh Kavian (Basically the Sassanid Persian flag)

He didn’t mention it but forming Persia as the Caspian Sea minors gives a 4th type of legacy when you form Persia, “Legacy of Eranshahr”. I just wish Mazandaran had an actual mission tree

    • @BigScreamingBaby
      @BigScreamingBaby 10 місяців тому

@@pedrampakkhoo6088 The lack of mission tree is what makes it a challenge and ultimately if you're successful you get the Persian/Eranshahar mission tree

Guys quick question, as I don't know if it's a bug or I'm missing something. I went Arbadil-->Persia-->change name to Iran-->Eranshar (just trying to see how much dev I can push into Persia region for fun).... I've noticed I can't convert ANYONE to zoro via war. Not due to cost or anything, the option is simply not there even in a was with a country I can swallow whole twice over and it's independent. Bug or I'm missing something?
