What if i don't lock hands and just hold my opponent tight instead?
For Freestyle and Greco you are allowed to lock your hands in the top position. Locking your hands is the best way to get the leverage and power to turn your opponent. There are variations of the gutwrench with a tight waist and an arm bar or a tight waist and posting your opponents elbow as you drive. Trying to squeeze without a lock will not work unless you are using one of your arms to weaken his post arm.
@@KOLATCOM is there a variant that could work in folk style?
@@andretse1440you don't get points for this in folkstyle
@@andretse1440 maybe a 2 on 1 from the top like you’re going for a tilt or even just breaking them down and reaching around their body with one arm, but this doesn’t make sense for folk style because 2 point exposures aren’t a thing in freestyle, the closest would be back points from a tilt
I thought that you're supposed to bridge with your heels.
Am I wrong?
Was trying this in jiu jitsu practice today it’s awesome
Great to hear!
Hey I know this is an old video but I’m gonna ask this anyway. I haven’t done freestyle and I’ve been looking to potentially get into it. You showed how to set but not really how to do it. Just from what it looks like, it looks like a strength move. All the people I’ve seen use a gut wrench are really strong wrestlers like Kyle Dake. Is this mainly a strength move or is there some technique to making it work? If it is mostly a strength move, what strength would mostly benefit this move? Your arms? Your legs? Core?
Like most moves gutwrench is 80% technique and 20% strength. Technique and position will always beat out pure strength in wrestling. Here is another important part of the gutwrench. A good arch. ua-cam.com/video/PVGS8OIaELU/v-deo.html
What do you do after you flip them over
This is a freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling move. Exposing the back by rolling them across their back earns 2 points. After the first turn it's best to try to use that momentum to try for a second turn etc.
I did this while my friend was holding my neck with both arms,my head was on the side of his body and his neck got really hurt,my coach said if it wasnt for his elasticity his neck wouldve got broken or got permanent damage was it my fault or my friends?
Don't know - but if your coach was watching this while it happened he should have stopped it.
@@KOLATCOM my coach told that he didn't understand it fully and was curious but thanks for the answer
Good
Thanks!
Pull over half
Its funny every new wrestling move i learn u got a video for it😂😂 ty
Great to hear! We are doing the job right!
no.
In this situation I would stop at the top with them on my shoulders and put them in my saddle. At that point I should get my swipes and possibly a pin. If not then I still have the leverage.
Can you gutwrench in freestyle if you chop the arm and hold it to the weist with your right arm?
hi cary sir....im ur fans ...... really good techniques......i like that
Is that considered locking hands if you don't have the arm?
Charles: This is a freestyle technique or international style of wrestling hold so there is not penalty for locking hands in this style.
Thanks I needed this
is this legal in folkstyle?
No
Is this legal in high school?
U won't get any points this is only a freestyle move so not recommended to use this in high school you'll get called for locking hands
