Very interesting and informative video! And, I could understand the narrator perfectly. I personally don't like dry cleaning because of the chemicals involved and the fact that I have extremely sensitive skin and acute asthma, but my husband and other family members would not survive without it! The dry cleaning process though is absolutely fascinating and I have to admit that my husband's and other family members' clothes look absolutely beautiful when they return from our beloved neighborhood dry cleaner! ❤
Thank you for sharing the details with us! I've noticed that many companies, such as OXXO Care Cleaners, are now adopting eco-friendly technology and discontinuing the use of harsh chemicals in their cleaning processes. They're also providing 24/7 pick-up and drop-off services, as well as same-day laundry services.

Thanks so much for the detailed video! I had honestly always suspected that "dry cleaning" was a colossal waste of time and energy. Now I know for sure! 😎
I wash my Superfine Polyester with no problems but I'm using a high efficiency front load machine with appropriate soap and no problems or shrinkage but it all depends on the fabric type of machine and detergent used.
And here I was thinking they just kind of rub it down with a damp cloth or something. Now I can go buy non-machine-washable clothes knowing there's actually hope they they will be cleaned properly lol
Thank you for your very informative video on this particular subject. I was always curious about the process but I’m still concerned if the chemicals are harmful though. I’m looking that up next. Thanks again.😊

Hi. This is just to be helpful. Can you put subtitles in your videos? Your accent is really heavy. It makes it really hard to understand some of your words.
It’s sad that many places simply wont care and that those machines will destroy clothes fast. Never bring a blazer or sport coat with a rolling lapel because they will DEMOLISH it. PERIOD.
I repeat. Hand ironing is key. With a nice tie NEVER let them press it. STEAM only. You can steam yourself but the ironing part I’ve heard if you want to do it right several hundred dollars if you want the real equipment to do it right.
For dry cleaning, traditional water-based washing cycles are not used. Instead, dry cleaning employs chemical solvents, with the most common one being perchloroethylene (perc) or other less toxic alternatives like hydrocarbon solvents. The amount of solvent used in a dry-cleaning machine varies, but it's typically much less compared to water in a regular washing machine. Here's an approximate breakdown: Solvent Usage: On average, dry-cleaning machines use about 0.5 to 1.0 gallons (1.9 to 3.8 liters) of solvent per cycle for each 10 to 15 pounds (4.5 to 6.8 kg) of clothes. Recycling: Most modern dry-cleaning machines recycle the solvent, reducing waste and lowering the amount of new solvent required per cycle.
They still put the clothes inside the machine and spin them. Clothes with vulnerable materials will not survive this, like if you have clothes with embroidery or sequins, it will completely destroy them. I wonder how they dry clean wedding gowns or any party gowns, do they also load and spin them in the machine? I guess I would never dry clean my dresses anymore after knowing this. Maybe I will just do them myself at home. My friend who owns a laundry business taught me how to do dry cleaning at home. All I need are just solvent, stain remover if needed, a spray bottle and standing steamer. It costs a fortune as well to send them to dry cleaner. Imagine how many wool, cahsmere clothes, down jackets and coats we are wearing during winter, and each time winter ends, I am broke 😂
All I’m trying to get across to anyone in the comments section is don’t believe every dry cleaner is nice or will handle your clothes correctly. You can lose a lot of your financial invest on people who won’t care.
That would be too expensive. Like you are trying to replace the water with liquid solvents. Who wants to buy giant jugs of chemicals every so often just to wash your clothes. Besides, water does not damage your clothes. You just have to be more delicate with washing and drying your clothes. They only put dry clean only because throwing in the machine might cause damage that they don't want folks to complain about to them.
Someone's got trichloroethane and trichloroethylene confused, and also you're showing Miele wet cleaning/commercial washing up machines while saying they're dry cleaning machines
