I absolutely agree on the bit at the end talking about what makes their style shine. People be saying Rubix is getting repetitive, but he's just being himself and constantly challenging his dance. People be saying it, but it's just because the man's at every event, so peeps are oversaturing themselves with his dance, and then take alot of what he does as granted, but let's get real for a second : what this guy can do is still absolutely complicated to pull off, not to mention hardly risk-free .... He's committed, not only in his dance, but also in his battles.
Like you can definitely tell that he's trying to make his spins and flexes weave more naturally and seamlessly in the stories he's trying to tell. If these are the things he loves to do, then more power to him ; he's still one of the most creative storytellers in France right now, and only getting started mind ya. I'd say him & Kuty are equally creative in their own style, and both are pushing the boudaries of Hip Hop Freestyle even further.

Rubix improved so much and he continues to improve even more! I seriously think he won this. However, BTM being judged just doesn't hit like the old and original BTM where they can experiment with no pressure. Gonzy is a beast and he did win some rounds but overall Rubix edged it for me and won. GG Rubix!

What i like about Rubix right now is his subtle movements earlier in 2021 he would dish out big wide spaced movements which where good but after he dishes them out his dancing would be kind of boring till he dishes out another one
Without the time limit, this let's them be their most creative self. Their was moments when I'm like wth hell they are doing but they were so dam committed to what they were doing... you gotta respect it.

As much as pop-the-fuck-off rubix is great, the Rubix that repeats the same moves, or motifs, is the one that produces the best rounds. What he does in those rounds is experiment with rhythm, meaning of that motif, change it to match different parts of a track. And he does that with crazy subtle changes to the same motif.
He only gets better on those rounds as he gets more capable of switching out of tricky positions in new ways, or holding the same shape for so damn long. From there, he can just make more changes to it, surprise the audience every time.
If you told 2013 laurent the kind of stuff 2022 Rubix can do to work the floor, he might just have quit dance altogether right then, I honestly think that sometimes.
Also, further to what you said, I think "vocabulary" is a great way to describe what dancers like Rubix and Gonzy can do. They have a far bigger range to pick from without repeating themselves, it's that simple. More ways they pace and change one specific movement, like having more words to describe the same thing. It's flavor and style, it changes the emotion of the movement without changing too much about the core of it.
I'm a writing graduate, and I remember how challenged our class felt when we started out just doing 2500 words for an project. That's about the length of a fairly short short story, but some people in the class really struggled with it and it usually showed through how repetitive their work was. There could be heavily repeated phrases sentences apart and they only realized how poor it sounded when it came to reading it out loud in the workshop. I was pretty guilty of it for some projects too honestly. Doesn't matter how good the ideas are, they're marred by how much you're wasting space.
Rubix judges here and there for smaller events. He was a judge on a UKSB. I forgot which number, but I could've sworn you already watched it.
