    I liked this convo very much. Worth listening. I now have a different perspective of TMK. I think, if he did not unruffle the feathers of traditional carnatic music by criticising the old and existing patterns, or finding fault with the doyens including Thyagabrahmam, practice of so-called casteism, and instead concentrated on his ways of purveying Carnatic Music, he would not become a pariah to C'Music. That is, say what u want to say and follow what u want to follow, but why do that by attacking the existing system or its pantheon of erstwhile and extant Greats, just because he finds faults in them or their behaviour. Let him be a path breaker, but in doing so, let him not stir the hornet's nest. Let him show he's different, but not by making others look silly. Let him not tread on the lines of Kamal, who had the audacity to call T a beggar. Or behave like Periyar. I don't want to say more ...
    But this interaction was very good. And that it happened in Mysore, it feels even more good.

    TMK is a genious,scholar,ready to face any challenge looks fine.If so why he instead of wasting his time and energy in simply finding fault with the traditional Carnatic music and early composers come out with his own new Carnatic music and train millions of people and popularise it? I was an admirer of. TMK later his attitude and mano dharma was totally opposite to his gimmicks on the stage.In our indian system of education questioning is encouraged.But he is simply blowing his own trumpet for the sake of popularity.

    I dont agree with him on spliting Sahityam for the sake of Ragam or ghamakam. Seems he is trying to validate to an extent the way Tamil Singers sing Tyaagaraja kritis by killng the richness/essance of telugu sahityam, bhavam and bhakti and make it just a musical rhetoric of Ragam. One should not put ragam above sahityam or vice- versa. In my opinion both should go in tandem and compliment each other. The best reference here is for example In telugu there is an old saying I quote "Ramuni Tho Kapi varundiitlaniyen" . If one says RamuniThoka pivarunditlaniyen" the entire meaning changes. It becomes "The tail of Rama" or "Rama's Tail" instead of " The KAPI (Hanuman) told Rama..😀😀😛
    Having said that "Saadhinchene Manasa - Aarabhi" sang by M.Bala Muralikrishna. Listen to it the way he presented it. Really a text book presentation.

    Deplorable Views By TM KRISHNA ON KASAB HANGING:
    The first concerns capital punishment. The laws of our land are, purportedly, founded on certain moral guiding principles. But I fail to see any moral justification for capital punishment. Not very long ago, when we fought and earned the right to govern ourselves as a nation, we did so by wielding a very powerful weapon - ahimsa or non-violence - one that defeated the enemy not militarily but morally. Isn't it anachronistic then that today we seek to punish criminals in the most violent way possible: by taking their lives? The judge who condemned Kasab to the gallows proclaimed that he was inhuman and undeserving of any mercy. But is it just being merciful to spare someone the death sentence? Isn't it also the morally right thing to do? Agreed that any punishment must be proportional to the gravity of the crime but if we are serious about preserving our identity as a nation founded on the principle of non-violence, shouldn't we at least debate the morality of capital punishment?
    By TM KRISHNA ON KASAB HANGING
    Mr TM Krishna hope you are made to serve in BSF for 5 years. Would see whether you speak the same rubbish after that experience.

    I have enjoyed Carnatic music throughout my life without any complications as TMK professes here. Many connoisseurs without technical knowledge exist and they enjoy music. Is there any use of these discussions . Every sentence is complicated , but he says keep it simple He has made money, like other musicians, singing creations of All great saints and creators without paying any royalty and belittling the Bhava in an insinuating way. He should restrospect if all these deliberations make any use for music perse.

    • @sivasudhanr3456
      @sivasudhanr3456 2 роки тому +15

      You make lot of statements. Atleast I don't understand any of your statements as they are not connected to each other.
      For instance, what if the questions are rehearsed? After all, many non-controversial people (musicians) anyways practice their korvais ahead of the kutcheri. T M Krishna doesn't say, I don't like,dot, he gives his argument. Ofcourse, you can disagree. May be write an article or even better author a book disagreeing with T M Krishna's views sequencentially.
      He is talking to music students, what is the problem if he talks about controversial views? He never begged the audience to accept his views. Mysore indeed has so many scholars but should it mean the person of your choice should be there ? I guess you could suggest if you have any speakers in your mind. If the organisers are not listening to your advice, you could upload it in UA-cam yourself :).
      Good luck 🤞

    He is clearly abusing the God given gift of singing carnatic music. T. M. Krishna makes it look like he has been schooled extremely well with a single minded focus on destroying the entire repository of South Indian classical music like the invaders who destroyed the Nalanda and Tashashila universities. Speedy action is required to bring T. M. Krishna's highly destructive efforts to a grinding halt. This TTK family, once very reputed, has allowed the DMK goons into their family with Dhayanidhi Maran marrying Ram's (owner of The Hindu newspaper) sister. Ram's brother Murali heads the Madras Music Academy. T.M. Krishna is a nephew. So he clearly has been given the license to destroy the foundation of Carnatic music. It is time a more prestigious academy be opened completely run and governed by musicians and we all stop patronizing the Madras Music Academy hereon.
