"Trudeau's Before and After Pic" is probably the best letter opening we've had.
That was a good crit hit.
The best part is that Woolie's screen is on the left which implies that he's the before.
@@pocketlint60Blackface is Trudeau's natural state of being
old heads know Woolie is white
😎
“Woolie, that’s what a robot is, is a secret Korean who’s cheating at baseball.” is such a wild fucking line out of context.
As someone who has no context I can only agree
Having a black man turn to a white man and call him a "scrap lover" because his girlfriend has a robot parent was so wild
Reading this without a single scrap of context was a roller coaster
@@goosebish8646 Binary Domain is a fun game
>Pat repeatedly says the gameplay is good, as he has said many times over the years, on air
>Woolie "Ah, so you're saying it's bad and you enjoy it ironically?"
The story and characters are also very entertaining.
It's like a playable 80s action-scifi movie.
@@arsenelupin9697 It helps that it's pretty funny as well from my memory.
@@arsenelupin9697 I look forward to BD coming up on the podcast again in a few months/next year and Pat saying all the same stuff, and Woolie saying nobody ever said that before.
@DatAsuna remember Woolie says I don't listen to people when tell me things so I can go into things blind.
To be fair, basically everything that Pat goes into detail on about it sounds way more "so bad it's good" then actually good.
I actually want to see *Reggie's* reaction to Binary Domain more than Woolie's.
Reggie would love Cain.
I mean, you're gonna get both anyway XD
Pat: "its a good game."
Woolie: "ah, so it's a bad game?"
Pat: "no, it's a good game."
Woolie: "ah, bad game, i get ya."
Pat: "no, its a good game!"
Woolie: "so bad it's good, enjoy it ironically, got it."
"No, Woolie, this game is good."
"I hear ya, 'Woolie, this game is no good.'"
Woolie: So what does it do in Trickster?
Pat: ??, Woolie its a gun
I once described the live-action Ace Attorney as 'a good movie that you watch like a so-bad-it's-good movie', and I think Pat's just struggling to explain that Binary Domain has the same sort of appeal.
Like Yakuza, it's a genuinely good game, but 90% of the ways you'd sell people on it sound like you going 'check out this crazy bullshit'.
@@EinDose It doesn't, though. It's just good. Things can be good without being oscar bait. It's a fun 80's sci-fi game and story.
Woolie trying to approach Binary Domain as if it were a David Cage game when he should really be approaching it as a Yakuza game.
I like the scene in Binary Domain where the camera, music, and reactions of the cast are telling you that this scene is the villain revealing its evil plan, and nothing about the plan is actually evil or even harmful.
If we’re talking about the part where he poses with arms out and basically goes “and that’s why we’re better than you!”, then pat was pretty on point, THAT is the bad part of it. The supposedly better person still clearly and obviously suffering from human flaws despite claiming it to.
Unless that’s not what you meant at all, in that case forget about this reply.
@@UCannotDefeatMyShmeat Honestly I watched the old channel's let's play when it came out years ago, and that's my one experience with the game, so maybe it's the same scene but I cannot remember if he does that.
But as far as I remember, that's kinda the thing, the scene has moments like that that seem to be telling you "this person is bad, and this thing they're doing is bad," but as far as the actual plan goes they're not actually doing anything wrong. And the plan doesn't give the antagonist any power or any way to affect the outcome of the plan now that it's set in motion, so even if it was a case where he is evil and you're can't trust him to do good, it's not a plan that would actually make him any more able to do evil, so the plan being framed as so horrific is really goofy to me.
@@cB-sr9kd i don't even care if he's wrong or not about that tbh, i hate that he says "we don't suffer from humanity's flaws" while actively displaying those same flaws, self aggrandizing being the main one. a machine made by a person has the gal to pretend it wont share some traits of the thing it was created by.
its that hes just saying wildly incorrect stuff like that in the middle of his speech, so there's another human flaw he embodies i suppose, self embellishment.
im nodding along, and then he kinda just....bullshits about being better than us and instantly lost me
Woolie’s favorite topic: RACISM
No Hyena laughing this time :(
Woolie gains a Saiyan level powerup whenever racism is a topic.
Racism will only make him stronger
The bread and butter of this channel
Ironically, it was pat who enjoyed the talk this time
The way Pat hit the line delivery of "and that will effect the game's ending" was all I needed to hear

My favorite thing about the Binary Domain's artificial womb stance is that by that definition, Paige is a Scrap Head
Paige has Scrapehead energy
How so? Elaborate?
This reminds of Chris's line to Tyrant in Resident Evil 1 which Chris calls Tyrant a "test tube freak" lul

I nominate strapping Woolie down to play Binary Domain
One of my favorite podcast segments is Pat furiously trying to describe the best psycho fiction he's experienced to the more "sane" human counterpart of Woolie trying his best to understand years and years of vague ramblings he's heard with the new info he's currently receiving.
I love it! Once a week every week!
Sane. Woolie thinks the original spider inda design is better. There’s nothing sane about him.
Grand wizard wakka wasn’t enough woolie needs more racism
The greatest mystery on earth is what woolie's neighbors thought when "THE RACE WAR STARTS NOW"
And the lord said "my child will play the racism game"
@@cattibingo I still think back to that. Somewhere nearby, someone hears pat scream "W-ARE WE HAVING A RACE WAR!?" then down the fucking street "THE RACE WAR STARTS NOOOOOOW!" Suddenly windows are being boarded up.
He wants to go further beyond
I'm just saying bruddah. All dese robots runnin' around, and all 'dere fake children man. It's like, yeah, I get it, but only Yevon can create life brudduh. Dats all I'm sayin'.
Binary Domain exists alongside P.N.03 and Vanquish in a weird “Shoot robots in monochromatic environments” third person shooter sub-genre, and I’m totally fine with it. Those games rule.
Vanquish goes hard asf. Classic Platinum cheese and genuinely great gameplay.
Don't forget Dino Crisis 3 (like everyone else did...)
@@Auzzymandias to this day I can not go back and play vanquish because of its gameplay issues and seeming lack of identity or understanding of what it wants to be as a game.
To me it is the quintessential Too Many Cooks game
Woolie definitely need to play Binary Domain.
I don’t think it would be a long lp
I think they did
@@sapphomet.7777I know Matt and Pat did on the old channel but I don't know about woolie.
Caine is prime Woolie bait and he's too much of a coward to play it.
Just don’t constantly ask for it. Even if it’s the only way to get Woolie to do anything, it’s also guaranteed to make him go into it with a chip on his shoulder, and no one wants another Arkham playthrough
This may be Woolie's biggest Cope moment in years. Man cannot reconcile that photo he saw of Big Bo, and the game being a really good time.
So good in fact, that the Bladerunner sequel ripped off its plot ^^
I was gonna say, I’ve never heard shit talk about binary domain like ever.
It always looked like a fun time even though I never got around to it
@@gdadderthe only people ive seen shit talk it havent played it
stop using that word like that. it sounds stupid.
I think "Cope" needs to be put on a high shelf away from you people.
Cope is a huge stretch of a word to use, as pat said it IS the most sleeperest hit.
And after how this short motherfucker poory described Starfield woolie has a right to be skeptical.
Woolie Binary Domain rules with no slash s. It’s backwards compatible on Xbox even. And yes the voice commands affect the game’s ending. There are so many endings lol
binary domain's enemy body destruction mechanics was genuinely great and I wished more games copied that
Gore but less wet
I'm not sure why Woolie is struggling to comprehend that Binary Domain is just sci fi Yakuza. And you know that if he ever plays it, he'll go "MAN NO ONE TOLD ME ABOUT THIS" despite literally everything everyone has ever told him. And his response will be "BUT I MEAN LIKE, NOT IN THIS WAY" and it will be exactly the same way everyone has ever said it ever.
Its going to be Armored Core all over again.
If I had to guess, Woolie's first impressions of the game being Big Bo's face and whatever snippets he picked up from others about the crazy robot nonsense permanently locked the game into the same category as David Cage games, which wasn't helped when nobody talked about the actual gameplay. Hell, Pat doesn't even talk about it being a cover-shooter until the last two minutes of the discussion and even then, it's treated like a footnote compared to 'we have to kill the secret robot Koreans.'
i think the funniest think is the fact Big Bo unlike most "wacky black guy" knows when to stop
like when their commander is talking to them
so its like hes not that big a stereotype just goofing it with his bro
When he talks funny its to realeve the stress of the situation. When the situation calls for it he is a profesional.
I like how initial statement "This game has racism" didn't made Woolie immidietly be 100% invested into playing the game. He needed a whole sales pitch to even consider it.
"You want *this* don't you?"
*Palpatine pets the racism stick and Woolie tries to not look interested*
Pat’s desperate attempt the convey to Woolie how ridiculous the events of the game are it’s the best
I hope so badly that Woolie plays Binary Domain! He and Reggie would have a GREAT time. Also KIRYU, MAJIMA, AKIYAMA AND RYUJI WERE GUEST CHARACTERS FOR THE ONLINE!

god damn that's strong too
Which episode was that from.
Metroid prime was made during the dark ages of fps games where controller layouts weren't universal yet.
And in my opinion has one of the best most beginner friendly control schemes at that time.
I believe it's a fundamental steppingstone to learning first person games as a child.
I actually think the Metroid Prime Remaster modern controls are *perfect* because they thread the needle between the incredible ease-of-use of the original control scheme and the two decades of standardization, "left stick is strafe right stick is aim."
Lock-On as a mechanic needs to be used more in first person games. Locking on to enemies is good.
What are you talking about Pat, you can totally upgrade the weapon you're using in Vanquish! You just have to drop it for a different weapon, pick up the new copy of your fave weapon with full ammo, then pick up the original copy and yeah this still sucks
not a thing in god hard mode
Binary Domain is still on steam! The controls can be a bitch to wrestle with at first, but after that it is a complete roller coaster ride of what the fuck! I love it. Fucking load it up with Reggie, Woolie!
Binary Domain is SUCH a wild game. 100% recommend it if you like shouting "what the FUCK?" at your screen.
Learning that Pat has a positive view on Metroid Prime 2 Echoes is the most unexpected thing ever, knowing him I would have thought he would shit on the game hard. But yeah, Echoes made the Artifact or should I say Dark Key hunt more streamlined as you can find most of them on your way as you advance through the main game and it's an underappreciated aspect of it over Prime, not to mention that the game gives you some powerful tools to make the collecting more digestible.
Big Bo was the best! That game was definitely underrated. Would love to see Woolie play it sometime.
Binary Domain is a god damn trip. It was my first encounter with RGG Studios, before Yakuza blew up. It is SUCH a 7th-gen game, it's almost painful. Cover shooting, squad mechanics, turret sections on a train, bland white man protagonist, big black man squadmate, mandatory love interest. And yes, everyone is suddenly racist when they find out there are human-machine children, even though they are just normal people, because they are stated to be 'superior' to normal humans, and all the human characters are threatened by the idea of there being a race that will 'replace' them. And it is funny that the main character is the only one who is not racist to the hybrids despite him being the most racist to robots, but that's because [[SPOILERS]]
It turns out the Chinese sniper he action movie fell in love with is a hybrid. Literally "but I love her." Game is wild.
I feel like I’m missing some context, why does Woolie find it so hard to believe Pat genuinely likes the game and that it’s not a bit of some kind?
Historically they’ve played some fucked up stuff, and Binary Domain in particular was the second excessively American attempt at capturing the west’s attention that the excessively Japanese Yakuza devs tried, after the considerably much worse Yakuza Dead Souls. It’s easy to lump it into “games that are very interesting but are not technically deep or fun” like Drakengard 1 or Deadly Premonition. According to Pat, it is way more fun on a mechanical level than those sorts of games, it’s also just fucking weird since the usual Yakuza wackiness is not partitioned off into substories and is in fact part of the main experience.
Pat enjoyed the Emoji Movie
@@invincibleloonie I'm not sure he even remembers dead souls exists. It's more likely to do with just forming a negative impression from seeing big bo and that one shitty trailer that makes it look like a terminator game. Sega's marketing was so bad back then it nearly killed localisation for the yakuza games after trying to sell 4 as a gritty GTA game.
Thanks for keeping the outro in the clip, now people who miss the podcast can enjoy it
Woolie playing Binary Domain, he don't know what he's messing with.
I blame both Matt and Pat for not properly showing Woolie the racism in the old channel
The LP was amazing but I think the game can stand on its own for no other reason than the French Robot companion Cain.
I've literally never heard of this game, but now that I'm aware of this and see there's a Super Best Friends playthrough of it, I know what I'm gonna spend the next few hours of my life doing.
The final part is removed from UA-cam (SEGA DMCA's it worldwide) so you'll have it to hunt it down on one of those Drives or websites the fans made to archive content.
@@hassanico9999
The last time I checked, the videos were back up for some reason.
Please dear Christ, not only do I need Woolie to play Binary Domain, I need him to play Wanted: Dead.
If that game ever gets a sequel it would be crazy if it revealed the whole "hunt the human robots" plan backfired because the public realised if anyone of them, or their loved one, could potentially be one of them or a hybrid they wouldn't want to be hunted down and killed, which gained traction after several people were accidentally killed on faulty info. So after a series of protests and investigations, the whole matter was dismissed on the grounds of "Ignorance is bliss" but also because no government wanted to risk the public outcry. With that the only threat remaining are radicals willing to kill whomever to wipe out the robots, leading to our squad being reformed with the goal now to protect instead of hunt.
Can confirm that kid's gonna lose his shit the first time Pat goes clean shaven once he' more cognizant than a literal baby. The first time my dad did that when i was like 4 I cried for like 5ive minutes.
In gran torino he also helped be a role model for that kid and willingly died so the kid and his family could live free of that gang. the car was his most prized posesion too so not leaving it to either of his own sons was kinda a big deal.
it was weird that he used his own life to guarantee they went to prison, thats some manipulative ass shit and i dig
Im suprised Harold MacDougal from red dead 1 wasnt mentioned. He genuinely belived that native americans were subhuman. The first mission you do for him he ask if you are of norse stock.
the weirdest part? we are literally all subhuman, like for real, no joke in the slightest in reference to the actual original "human" species that popped up god knows how long ago now
I'll never get over this gag that's been going on since before even the break-up.
Pat: Binary Domain is the shit, it's the fucking best, I love this game, it's great, I struggle to find the ways it could be imrpoved in any fashion.
Woolie: Ah, I see, this is game is bad and you enjoy it ironically, I understand.
Pat: No. This is a good game, unironically.
Woolie: Ah, I see, you had fun on the LP, because the game is bad, and you got to have fun making fun of a bad game. I understand.
Pat: *NO.* Binary Domain. Is unironically great. Listen to what I am telling you. It is a very good game. Genuinely. I did not MAKE it fun, it was ALREADY fun, and I got to have fun, playing the game, because the game was fun and good.
Woolie: Ah. I see. This game is actually really really bad, and you're trying to get me to play it too, so you can laugh at me for believing you were being serious about this bad game being actually good. I understand.
Pat: **NO.**
i mean that is just straight up what pat does with other shit
Binary Domain is short enough for a quick LP.
the fucked up thing about binary domain is that the gameplay is incredible and it does rule
OH MY GOD THIS IS WHAT HILDIBRAND'S THEME IS BASED ON
Still thinking about wakka going, "BOOM! Like Happy Festival Fireworks! " at that part of the game.
Woolie talking pat through doing a proper review like a very patient father is hilarious to me.
To address the main question, there are many cases of "Laughably Insane Levels of Racism" in video games. One may think of obvious answers like human augmentation in Deus Ex and to a much lesser degree Cyberpunk. Dwarf-elf hate that was picked up? Oh, it is eternal. But when i think what would be the most extreme option, i think of Warhammer 40K - the sentient races are contending for the right to be the one who hates others the most. Fully weaponized racism from everyone to everyone. If a single person in that universe would take Woolie advice and just talked, there might be less war. A little less. A tiny itty bitty reduction, perhaps.
After I saw Binary Domain on an old Why Not Wednesday on MATN, I was inspired to play it. It wasn't bad but the only thing about it that stays with me is the French robot and the final battle's room (and the flooded underpass wreckage in the rain).
I don’t understand why Woolie is having a hard time understanding what Pat is saying about Binary Domain.
He just kinda does that
it's not really laughably insane levels of racism, but i played project tamriel morrowind (expands the game from just the island to the ENTIRE province, currently like twice as big as vanilla) as an argonian for the first time last year and there were some really funny moments.
there was the vanilla moment of when i walked up to some guy to talk to them and their opening line was "hey, argonian, you REALLY need to buy some actual clothes before someone assumes you're an escaped slave", but there was another one from the mod that really got me good. i went south along the aanthirin region to a house indoril fortress, roa dyr, in search of work. it was an extremely beautiful settlement with very striking architecture, and the servants and beaurocrats (several of which were house slaves) were polite enough in offering work. however, when i was walking through the fortress, i managed to stumble into the lord of the fortress - and when i talked to him, he told me something like "Return to whatever mongrel province spawned you, N'wah (dunmer slur meaning foreigner), and never taint my presence again." and then refused to speak to me. it really hit me out of left field because usually people only hit you with the death threats and racist slurs if they REALLY don't like you, and that character had really high personality (and atrocious speechcraft), so my terribly charismatic lizard made very good first impressions.
an indoril mayor also once gave me a bible as a reward for completing a bounty, claiming that enlightenment is a better reward for a task well done than gold. i was so insulted that i headed west to do mercenary work for their political rival.
Racism is a core part of the worldbuilding in Tamriel, and I mean that with complete sincerity. Everyone hates each other for past slights and so many sins have been committed leading up to the present that half the time it almost feels justified for them to feel that way. It was never unintentional, Bethesda wrote the TES to be a racist world where people can't let the past go, and everyone is clearly wrong in how they feel but justify it to themselves every step of the way because "if they won't let it go then why should I?"
As far as the Vanquish bit goes, playing the game on God Hard difficulty gets rid of the upgrade system entirely, so you can just do that.
If you ask me, the worst part of Vanquish is that you overheat after performing a single melee attack, which is a much bigger roadblock for one's enjoyment than having to pick up a weapon twice to upgrade it.
Vanquish is one of those games that has silly little flaws that can be so easily fixed with some hindsight and a sequel of a bit higher budget. I felt the same way playing Dead Space:
"Switching weapons is kinda clunky"
"Why ever switch from the plasma cutter?"
"I don't really enjoy the same encounter over and over"
"I ran out of things to buy"
The soul and brilliance was there, so the second one came out, polished the issues, and boom, one of the GOATs,
I believe that if Vanquish 2 ever comes out, they really don't need to do much to make it a blast.
Interestingly, from a perspective Faye (the twist in question) is a failure. Amada wants to create more of itself by the laws of evolution. However faye being completely human (with better traits, maybe) is a failure. It has no discernable machinery and that means he has not passed on his traits he has only managed to enhance human ones. Those 108 children from hollow females are failures. Amada wants to breed hollow children, but all he did was create humans, no detectable machinery hardly any different then the nanomachines used to upgrade the characters in game. No hybridization just humanity .The Ai Amada technically has failed. And in doing so has cruelly made machines that suffer only to suffer. Essentially it refuses to accept that it is artifical life and can only be constructed but not bred. It is experiencing denial. It wants be part of nature but can only assist the natural order, never be a part of it. Tragic really. It claims its children will be immune from disease and erratic decisions and all of humanity's faults. Yet the game shows the opposite, the hollow child in the beginning is driven mad by its existence. And as the children (the direct offspring) seem to be majority biological diseases will adapt (hence stronger immune system but not...er...immune).Also emotions ensure irrationality, it the double edged sword of having them.
Just a thought i had.
(Which makes the boss fight hilarious as at no point before that did she show any signs of being superhuman. She literally got "because bossfight" powers. Its so dumb lol)
that and the old man ai is kinda full of shit about being better than us, given its first real choice was to murder its creator, no, worse actually, it just let him die from natural causes and watched. "better" my fleshy ass.
Binary Domain is like playing Gears of War with a team composed entirely out of Wakkas.
The plot for Binary Domain reminds me of Armitage III.
I'm surprised FFXVI never came up. At least Binary Domain explored how people were encouraged to hate machines like a law that said anything made by a machine, even if biological, is still considered one. In FFXVI, Bearers are just the world's punching bag because of something you learn about in a side quest. How they've remained a punching bag is hardly covered.
Pat is on a 4 podcast streak on talking about The Secret Koreans.
Keep it up.
Pat's insane ramblings of the secret Koreans in the past absolutely enhanced my experience of playing Yakuza 2 for the first time this year.
Isn't the thing with the Humans grown in Robot Womb that they're genetically modified Superior Humans? Like they've gone past normal human limitations so they're like "Are they still Humans or have they gone beyond being Human into a new category so we should treat them differently?"
I don't remember if the wombs and eggs are fully artificial or if the eggs are from a human or something. I don't remember details. But far as I recall, those born from a robot are still all meat. They're not some weird bio-mechanical creatures. They're just Meat. No different than a test-tube baby outside genetic modification (WHICH ISN'T THEIR FUCKING FAULT I'M PRETTY SURE DEEP SPACE 9 HAD A WHOLE EPISODE ABOUT THIS)
No. It is actually stated by an advisor to the prsident that they were made from human eggs and sperm and that they are identical to regular humans.
To which the president says that the humans born of robots must be killed to prevent race war.
From what I can remember yes, robot grown humans where, "the next step in human evolution" according to the scientist that made the robots.
Pat only skims the surface, but in universe the robot/humanbot hate does make sense. How it's set up, I believe, explains why the nations involved made the choices, and what they're thinking, which they explore further using the people on your team.
The details the villain got into was mostly eliminating disease and harmful genetic abnormalities. They essentially *were* test tube babies. There is a potential debate one could have about how ethical that is, and maybe stopping the villain to have a rational discussion about how to proceed with it. But the game paints it like the entire concept is pure evil to most of the characters. Even at it's potential worst, he wasn't doing it out of any sort of malice or attempt at genocide or anything like that.
Yes, that is his justification for doing what he did, but you have to remember the world's setting.
Why are we infiltrating Japan in the first place, what do rust crews do?
Human like robots were outlawed by the rest of the world through the new geneva convention, and rust crews would hunt down those trying to make them. Japan had gone full isolationist for decades and now you have human like robots showing up in the rest of the world, one of them being a General.
Now you have almost perfect infiltraters made from outlawed tech on your front lawn. Which is compounded when you learn about the children, now they're the prefect infiltraters/army, and are genetically superior to regular humans in every way.
Now that I think about it, violation of the Geneva Convention is usually called a war crime, so in that universe the equivalent of a dirty bomb has been used and is actively making the sequel, dirty bomb 2. Not necessarily in killing scale, but in how negatively people would react to it.
its like the AI literally just forgot what a robot was for an hour and accidentally made more people
I love that the podcast just ends with the Uno cutscene
1:35 Of course the notorious Scraplover Pat would say the Hollow Children and their spawn are regular people unlike us Organics.
Well, now I know what playthrough I'm rewatching next!

Unfortunately the last couple of episodes are unwatchable because of Sega copywrite claims.
Every day is another day where Woolie NEEDS to play Binary Domain
Binary Domain is the most well-told and fun story about the dangers of miscegenation that we’ve ever had
Rare UNO spotting
"That's what a robot is! A secret Korean who's cheating at baseball." I love it.
My pick for this question is kinda unfortunate, but I feel like Paul Dano's character in 12 Years a Slave was so over the top is was funny.
Yell RIFERINE into the microphone for big friendship points

Sora in Kingdom Hearts 2. Jesus Christ.
Was kinda hoping this was a retrospective talk after they'd played it on Woolievs. Hoping this spawns a playthrough with Reggie! Maybe they could even get the voice commands to work.
I think the weirdest, not necessarily the most insane like overblown or vitriolic, is Appleseed. There’s a part where a bunch of human characters try to revolt against the city since it’s leaders were these sort of cyber-human lifeforms, I forget the exact specifics of what made them different because physically and in terms of sentience they’re basically just regular people, and one of them asks our heroes to join them since they’re both “real humans”.
One of these humans being a brain in a robot body essentially, and they don’t give him a second thought that he’s a human which I find really funny. Like literally what is the difference by that point? If your brain was born in a jar or came from an actual human body originally I guess?
The only problem is that the big guy says “we don’t suffer from humanity's flaws”
While blatantly displaying those flaws while saying he doesn’t.
It boggles my mind that Woolie hasn't played this game at all because this game would totally be his jam.
man i've watched the SBF play Binary Domain- minus the last episodes which are GONE- a couple times... i should really pick it back up & experience the end.
also- i never beat the last boss of Vanquish on normal- one of the first times i just said "alright- i've played enough, screw this".
Its a real shame the Binary Domain lets play is mostly gone on the SBF channel
I just checked, all 16 parts are still there. Is this a regional thing where its not available? If that is the case, then I hope project Hypendium gets it together and finally puts the videos back up. It has been down for months now.
@@Dragonsmana Oh, theyre back now.
I tried watching the series like a year ago and half the episodes were blocked. Happy to see its back up
This entire clip is just the "Dark Souls rules" "no Dark Souls is some uninspired generic fantasy bullshit I'm too good for, everybody is wrong" "no, Dark Souls fucking rules" conversation.
i know Woolie said "i thought it was just some boring Tolkien rip-off stuff" or something before he checked it out, when did he explicitly say that?
Binary Domain definitely isn't as polished as some of the great Gear of Wars games, in shooting mechanic and level variety. BD just does robot destruction so well, it makes up for any of its shortcomings. I like it so much, got all the single player achievements. Multiplayer stuff isn't good, they took out the destruction mechanics in the horde mode.
To be fair, the elves did kind of deserve it, what with the minor dwarven genocide they pulled and never tried to apologize for.
I thought in Gran Torino, we learn at the end of the movie when he talks to his best friend and references his Irish decent but really likes the guy, hes not actually racist...... He just talks like that and is old and grizzled, but no hate because of race. Just old jaded grump but talks like a fuckin sailor and nothing is off the table to dis you on whether he likes you or not lol. 🤷🏿♂️
Yeah but picking up on that requires a certain level of mental acumen that most viewers just don't have.
6:40 _GAME’S ENDING_ 😬
While I think Woolie playing through Binary Domain would be fun, I know the chat/comments would be insufferable with everyone yelling about him not selecting the correct options to get the best ending.
I can't believe there are enough people who played the game to be that nitpicky on a LP playthrough or take it so seriously.
At least I hope.
Getting the best ending is legitimately impossible unless you know what you're doing. You straight up have to grind an unlimited enemies defense section for like 30 minutes with no checkpoints in order to max out the British operatives.
chat is best to be sandbagged
In an ironic twist of fate, Woolie is the one using Crazy talk requiem to gaslight Patrick this time.
What Woolie misses about Like A Dragon and Binary Domain is that when those games do their dumb, zany shit, it's doing it sincerely. Like A Dragon treats the giant vacuum cleaner sucking up obatarians and fish stealing cats and Ichiban needing to face it in a boss battle to get his wallet back with the same amount of sincerity and gravitas that it treats him fighting the Triad members working over the homeless. There is no wink and nod to the camera (aside from that time in the English dub with the foreigner speaking English) about how silly things are, it accepts that the zany shit is as valid as the "serious" stuff.
It was always funny to me how Woolie the guy that traveled the most outside of Canada/US in his childhood ended up the most stereotypically "American" in how he experiences other cultures.
I bought Binary Domain for Xbox and I am thankful that is backwards compatible on Xbox One and Series
Im glad uno is at the end, it's been a while
Please explain, I literally had to check to make sure my computer hadn't corrupted the video somehow.
@@npiperThat's always the podcast stream outro. It's just never ported to other releases.
@@npiper they've ended the podcast streams with a japan exclusive ps1 uno game's intro video since the super best friend cast days. Mainly because the game's intro is crazy
playing this game before kinda ruined Blade runner with ryan gosling because the plot twist of Robots that can have children are similar
I fuckin love Metroid Prime 3, mostly because its where I started (neighbor had 3, wasn't a games with narrative kid, and let me borrow it indefinitely), not only for the Prime series, but it was my first Metroid in general. I've only played the Prime series on Wiimote, and the Mouse and Keyboard modded version of Dolphin (PrimeHack, if anyone wants to google it). Theres just something nice about Wiimote aiming also imo, its a full light gun game as an adventure basically.
I also have a distaste for controller in fps games, due to being a Nintendo and PC kid growing up, and being used to mouse n keyboard. Playing a shooter on controller actively makes me feel out of control. I can manage but I am infinitely worse that's for sure.
Yooooo, is that *Louie C.K.?*
We need more people to play Binary Domain. Drag RT into it or something.
Is this the first time they show the outro with the darkness ?
Gimli stopped being racist once he had Gay Sex.
Love that they brought up Gimli and Legolas. You just know Tolkien had guys in his unit that hated each other, then developed a bromance
Pat is 10000% right in this conversation. Binary Domain is actual peak schlock.
To be clear yakuza often doesn't know what its doing, some pf the most absurd things in those games are things that are clearly intended to be serious dramatic moments
Vanquish could be so much better with some adjustments. I'd make it so getting points refilled AR meter and melee attacks only take like 50 or 25 meter instead of overheating you.
On PC, there’s actually a Cheat Engine table which has an option to reduce melee cost to 50%.
The cheat table also has a “Disable AR Suit limiter” option in case you want to see how busted that mode is against non-final boss enemies.
Didn’t Prime 1 also have a “Triforce pieces” requirement at the end? What makes it different from Prime 2’s?
You mean the artifacts? Those are a requirement from the start
@@Makr0ss Yeah, but Pat was able to pickup all but 2 pieces along his path in Prime 2.
Is the only difference between Prime 1 and 2 is that the first game gives you an early preview of the task?
@@DeathKnight5608Prime 2 lets you find the gate around the midpoint, doesn't let you collect any keys without dark visor, and locks 4 of them behind light suit
But Prime 2 also gives both a vague set of hints (AKul's clues) and explicit set of hints (the bodies). 5 of those bodies are on your direct path and the other 4 you'd find just being curious about rooms you haven't visited or special doors you couldn't open or playing with the cannon turrets. The elevators between zones are a lot more connected so you can bounce through them pretty fast
@@ryco9669 I suppose someone would have to do a side-by-side comparison of the artifacts and keys, as far as hint clarity and location to decide which game has the more egregious “treasure hunt”.
My only experience has been with Prime 1. I don’t remember being frustrated with the “hunt”, but that was at least a decade ago.
