  • This video is a continuation of Trailer Loading (Part 1).
MANAGING HANDLER EMOTIONS. I've discovered over the years that many problems with trailer loading disappear when you address the emotions in the person handling the horse. Horses are naturally searching for a confident leader, and often when the handler gains confidence and keeps their emotions in check, they'll notice the horse responding more confidently to the trailer.
USING THE TWO-MAN APPROACH. It's handy to know a two-man approach to trailer loading, because it can be used in an emergency situation, or when a horse simply needs to be loaded and there's no time to spend on training due to the circumstances.
I hope you found this series informative and helpful. Until next time, may God bless the trails you ride!

How would the process change with a straight load two horse trailer, where the horse cannot turn around when teaching it? Should I remove the chest bar and open the suicide door? Should I remove the divider to create stock trailer conditions? Thanks.
