The animation of his transformation is incredible. The colors, the details, the drawing, EVERYTHING is AMAZING. On the other hand, the message it gives is very good: Learn to love regardless of differences and support your children when they need you most. Beautiful movie.

Kenai could not return human because he had to and wanted to take care of Koda, and it would not be right for Koda to become human and renounce all the pleasures and joys of being a bear. So that it was Nita who became a bear was the logical choice.

Because she wanted to be with Kenai. But Kenai couldn't leave Koda alone. So she became a bear to stay by his side
Both Nita and Kenai could change back into humans once Koda grows up. He won't be a cub forever.
