Thank you for watching!
do i have to have existing broadband to connect it to? or can i just plug, connect
You need broadband and a modem to use this router.
I'm trying to game competitively and live stream my game at 2k or even 4k simultaneously. My current download speed is around 350 mbps and upload speed is around 10 mbps. I understand I need to increase both, but I don't know if its better to pay my wifi company (currently spectrum) more per month or get this gaming router to do that.
Which one would you recommend me getting? And if its both, which one would you recommend to get first?
Are you getting close to the speed you are paying for? If the answer is no, you should get a better router or a mesh system or ethernet
Honestly switching to an IPS that supports better uploads is the most ideal. Gaming and streaming is hard on 10mbps alone, even worse at 2 and 4k
Im in the same boat as you, I decided to just buy it to see how it goes.
Will this be good to pair up with my survoard s33v2 modem and xfinity?Just purchased the eero 6 plus yesterday with survoard s33v2 and have xfinity and it already disconected 4 times and internet kinnda slow😡😡
It's going back to store
Sorry I have not tried it with Xfinity however I can tell you it's better than Eero in my opinion.
For maximum usage.. Install Gnuton Asus custom firmware.
What port do I connect this on with the virgin media hub 4? The wan? Into TEL 1? I just can't seem to get internet to work?
This router will not work.
Thank you for your review. I have bought this one, refurbished from Amazon. I'm having trouble getting it to work. Is the WAN LED light (the nearest one to the back of the router) always supposed to light up. I get the error message that it is not connected to the Internet but the RED LED does not light up. Could this be a faulty unit please?
Have you connected it with your modem? If you have and it's still not working, then yes it's faulty.
@@GrumpyMansREVIEWS I've connected it to my Virgin Media Hub 3 wifi modem using a new modern ethernet cable. I don't suspect the cable of being faulty because I connected something else with it and it was ok. The user manual says the WAN light will show a red LED if there is no connection but it doesn't show red.
When you put the Hub 3 into modem mode after that did you power the Hub 3 off from the mains? Rest the Asus router using the pin hole keep it pushed for 15 seconds and then set it up. Turning the Hub 3 off from the mains after putting it into modem mode is a must, as this will give a new IP address to the new router.
@@GrumpyMansREVIEWS Thank you. You mention putting the Hub 3 into modem mode. I understand this and somebody told me I didn't need to do this. Also you mention turning Hub 3 off afterwards to give it a new IP address. I didn't do this so I will try this. Thank you again, I'll tell you how `i get on. Cheers
Yeah unfortunately I've been through a lot of frustration until I finally learned how to do it the proper way. kids would be like when is the wi-fi back on. Let us know how you get on good luck!
Hello sir this is really worth to buy and mainly for HOME USE for personal works and professional works so plz help me
Yeah it's a decent router
Thank you for the video, very helpful. Any idea if i can just connect my fiber to the asus via wan? What is my wan connection type? It is asking it at the time of seting the router up. I have tried with every option but my internet does not connect even having the router recognized
Which ISP are you with? Some ISPs need to give you details. If you can get the router going make sure DHCP is enabled and then put your router into modem mode.
@@GrumpyMansREVIEWS i am with T-Mobile, Amsterdam. So i do not connect the new router to my fiber cables directly? Or do i connect the asus router to my original one? Appreciate your help
@@DEMON..-.. So sorry I don't know how they work, your best off doing a Google search.
can I configure it without connecting it to the modem?
No.
The tp and its lan is good choice too
Can I set up a vpn with this router ? For travel purposes ? Let me know please… thinking about buying this tomorrow
Yes, I think most Asus routers have a VPN option.
@@GrumpyMansREVIEWS awesome another question the vpn option can I add a vpn server like nord vpn or express vpn to change my location for work purposes…looking to travel and some how my work vpn on my work computer doesn’t allow me to log into different counties except the one I am located in..
what is hoof? and how to turn off
Hoof?? No idea sorry. I'm not using this router anymore.
Can you plug in a house phone into this?
No.
I can even log into my router had this thing for 2 years and haven't had to mess with it, how do I recover my damn password?
If you changed the login information, you will have to reset the router and the details will be at the bottom.
I have a big problem pls help me do you have discord? It says it can not connect to internet bcs my cable is wrong. I dont know how to connect it and i dont know what cable i need

Terrible latency. Unplayable when it comes to competitive gaming online
Thank you for sharing your experience.
@@GrumpyMansREVIEWS thats your experience 😂😂😂 Not mine
@@sebastianm3505 So why did you comment that for? Lol
Did this router improve latency over a wired connection? I’m looking to better my gaming experience, cheers
AX82U is nearly 2 years old now and not worth buying - there are much better ASUS routers on the market for a fraction more. Plus Merlin is an absolute must for ASUS routers that’s support it.
Thank you for your feedback!
“There’s something newer and better on the market that costs more money”
Yeah bro imagine that
@@Someone-pg3on that’s not the point I’m making…
But it is the point you’re making lol
