  • "Skeleton crew" doesn't even begin to cover the situation!
    Team SG-A find themselves trapped on board a reality-hopping Daedalus ; shortly thereafter, they become entangled in a conflict with a small army of alien marauders.

    It’s a crime we never had the time to develop those ennemies, I would have loved a second part episode like the Aschen one, realising oh wow that’s the ennemies we faced when we boarded the alternate Daedalus.

      Judging by the sound their fighters make and the shape of their ships, they come off as an alternate version of the wraith that developed more conventional technology rather than the organic ships and weapons seen in the main reality.

      @@bombkangaroo an interesting theory. they would have to be very different biologically tho as to not need to feed. there weapons are meant for killing and the 1 that grabbed ronan didnt even try to feed just choke him to death.

    Really what they needed to do was control the directions of the jumps, back and forth, until the power ran out and marooned this Daedalus in their own universe. It might have taken a while, but a whole extra ship with new tech and data would be well worth the effort.

    It was always really impressive how the makers of the Stargate series would put so much effort into a one-time alien/ship. Far more than Paramount put into Trek.

      Apparently these aliens were suppose to have a bigger role if season 6 was Aired, i imagine thats why they kind emphasized some of the scenes. Also the ghost in the machine episode where weir was still inhabiting atlantis system, she explained there are advanced races out there hidden from the wraith, so she is probably setting up non-wraith enemies, allies aliens for the future episodes.
      Picard/discovery were such trash, the writing was so bad for s3 for picard. discovery just aggressively kept pushing an all female crew by KURTZMAN, even managed to margianlized lgbqt+ to mere background characthers by s4, they had bigger roles in s1-2.
      The use of nostalgia characters in Picard was as bad as the ending for enterprise(2001-2004), its a dumb cop out.

    2:31 Railguns - 2:45 *shows a Phalanx-like Gatling gun turret*
    I mean... sure... you could make a Gatling gun with railguns instead of simple barrels... but that's kind of dumb, since railguns can also fire multiple rounds on their own, and air-cooled guns, like Gatling guns are pointless in vacuum.
    I guess in that alternate reality, they took the "spinning is much cooler than not spinning" approach to weapons design.

    • @niflheim6078
      @niflheim6078 Рік тому +2

      Even a railgun is a gaz-cooled weaponry, so, they could use a internal refreezing system or some kind.

    • @sargon6000
      @sargon6000 Рік тому +1

      @@niflheim6078 Yes, but Gatling guns are designed specifically to be cooled in atmosphere, by having a large internal surface area, while in space you'd want external surface area, to radiate all that heat away. Blowing cold gas on a railgun/gatling gun requires having a large amount of easy to deplete cooling fluid, not to mention in the vacuum of space you can get much higher accuracy than in atmosphere and a gas cooled system could affect that.

      @@sargon6000 Don't worry mate, I know the space kinetic law, but a post-burst recooling supply with at least "operational" auto-targeting grid will be more accurate at this rate. Otherwise,one active mono-sentry Gatling gun at this will be uneffective, homing missiles are better against fighter craft.

      Low power on the Daedalus' part plus a sufficiently advanced alien civilization and it's not unreasonable that that ship could survive.

    • @Ragitsu
      @Ragitsu  Рік тому +2

      The _Daedalus_ has a couple of shots left (pay attention to what Rodney said) and SG-A has to stop the unknown vessel from destroying Atlantis; crippling the ship's weapons (which tend to be more fragile than the hull itself) seems like the priority in this situation.
