Strangers from hell is so underrated the plot twist was so unpredictable and so mind bending I highly recommend its my favourite kdrama
It's among my top 10 dramas I ever watched, like shit was so great and horrifying. Way better than your typical jump scare stupid horror. The fact that people around you can lead you to insanity at some point like ML is just...
The darkness in Lee dong wooks eyes was so scary. He did a great job at acting.
I want to watch it but Netflix doesn’t have it anymore 😭
Edit : I watched it yesterday!! It was soo good!! I’m going to read the webtoon now !!
i absolutely love it like extremely, i wanna rewatch it but i dont trust myself not to ruin it for myself. all the actors, the plot, everything was so perfect. i cant believe the only reason i watched it was because im siwan was in it.
Right, me too ❤
Seo Ye Ji's performance was phenomenal in the drama save me
YES!!!
so much. i was really scared for her while watching.
@@erinnvan1941 same! I was like that's hunting n I'm just watching imagine how did she felt shooting it
@@mayakkari exactly, she's one of my favorite actresses. one thing scary about it is that it happens irl. and it's frequent.
@@erinnvan1941 one of my favorites too all her roles are so captivating
N yeah which is really scary
i haven’t seen the other dramas mentioned but i have seen save me. i can definitely believe that drama took a toll on seo yea ji because it was a very unnerving show for me. the darkness of that show honestly felt so palpable i couldn’t even watch it alone.
You should watch strangers from hell and the glory!
Lee Dong Wook did an amazing job in "Strangers from hell"! He's so talented and versatile! My favourite actor 💜👏
Insane how method acting or getting so invested in the role, impacts you subconsciously and psychologically.
The movie…I think it’s called Silenced or Silent. Broke my heart. The scenes that depicted child abuse were too real for me. There’s a scene where a man is on top of a little and pulls her underwear off. Another scene where an old man man is bathing with these little boys and he was touching their butts. It was too much for me.
That and hope I know I won't watch because they are based on true stories
I watched that movie too. Even have it on DVD. It was the first time that I started to hate an actor. ( I know that he was just playing a role) but that movie woken up so many emotions in me. Hate, sadness, frustation and more.
I don't even know ehy I have this on DVD. I mean I will never watch that movie ever again. But yeah I know what you mean when you say it was to much 😅
@@asiafan08 Oh yeah ! I heard that even the actor's friends were looking at him in a different way, everyone was uncomfortable with him being in the same room as a Child and he even had a hard time finding another role after this movie.
Apprently the movie was so scaring it re-opened the real life case that inspired it.
@@LemonRose59 that with re-opening the case i knew already. i think thats good and fair but that he had such problems after this role is new to me. I kinda feel sorry for him. i mean it should be a good sign, when you hate a character the actor did a good job. but i think because the case involes children, not just childen but handicaped children. but in the end that movie was cruel but eyes opening.
@@asiafan08 agree
Through the Darkness really did a number on me. The journey of Kim Nam Gil's character was so intense. There is that moment where he identifies too much with a psychopaths he's chasing & almost commits murder. The desire to kill on his face mingling with his terror of this feeling. I've never seen anything like it & he rightly got awarded for this one. His story was definitely helped by the realistic portrayal of the serial killers he pursues, the cases are based on real events incorporating very authentic details. Not an easy watch but wow 🖤
Yes through the darkness is really good a worth watching...
dude i loved this one
from all the list, "Save me" gives me heart breaking every episode
I'm always thinking about the actors and their mental health when it comes to certain parts. Once you let those thoughts in you have to be careful. I hope they all have people around them to help keep them true to themselves.
Heath Ledger as the Joker in the Dark Knight...I hear he fell into a deep hole of depression during the filming. Some people scoff at that idea. Why? Why would it not be a given that playing a role like that well would cause a disturbance for them?
Strangers from Hell was one hell of a ride. It suffocates you from beginning to end.
That is one dark and gritty drama. It was soooo good.
strangers from hell has to be the best thriller I've seen. Even later on, I saw the actors in other dramas and saw them as increasingly creepy adn dangerous
A Korean movie named "silenced" was the most and extremely disturbing for me and the fact that it was based on true events was even more terrifying! I didn't know that Korean society was like this and the court and police both don't help at all! Every issue is solved by money! The one who has more money, is the one who wins. I certainly feel sooo bad for the victims, and the thing that harassment, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, and physical abuse happens with not only normal kids but special kids as well is very disgusting, and horrifying. Another movie named "hope" which was also base on true events is another movie which was disturbing, if u search silenced and hope's story online by reading the story u will think that hope is way more disturbing but when u actually watch both of them u will know how disturbing is silenced while hope is not that much disturbing as in movie hope they don't show u the scenes, but in silenced they legit show u the sexual abused scenes! but let me tell u people who have a very light heart these movies are not for them! I love how writers and people are trying to spread awareness about the actual Korean society, but nothing is changing. I wish I could support the victims and kill the culprits
I mean it’s nothing new in the u.s. with the legal system as well. 99% wealthy people can get away w their crimes because they can hire the best lawyers and what not. It’s sad really
Korean society is worse
That’s legal system everywhere, it’s always about money and power.
If they didn’t show the scene i would never ever realized the depth of "child sexual harassment"
I mean we often get to hear it but watching it was terrifying and the fact that this what those children got to see even worse maybe when they were being molested. I can't even imagine.
@@Ian-bi4sn yep, they should get life sentence
The fact that these dramas are reality based makes it more horrifying like how dangerous our society is
"Save Me" really creepy tough 😅
Okay I've seen lee Jung suk in "mouse" and no spoilers here but seeing him give that unsettling smile with the innocent face of his I mean you could never imagine him being a psychopath but there he goes with that smile.... I've got a drama/movie for my bucket list.
haha..."no spoilers" huh?
@@multicolor8476 I mean i didnt drop a spoiler. Just mentioned his smile which makes him almost pass a pyschopath check. Watch the show and you'll get what I mean.
@@Sunflowersarepretty Yes, I have watched it and I remember the smile.
It was a little bit hard for me to watch Lee Jong Suk as the villain character...and the ending was so cruel...total of 5 bullet was shoted on him...and the tragic death of that high school girl...I was so shocked while watching...I didn't expect it.... anyway I understand it was really hard for Lee Jong Suk to act in his role....but I still like him....
lee jong suk wasn't in mouse
The show SOMEBODY on NETFLIX was sooooo good. It was super creepy but the actors were amazing in it! I found myself really attracted to and scared of Kim Young-Kwang. 😂❤He said that role took a huge toll on him.
omg yes! That series was super unsettling. Ngl Youngkwang gave me the creeps due to how good he was at that role
SPOILER WARNING - Somebody (without context)
I binged through it, even tho I was feeling uneasy the whole time - I just couldn't stop.
The final tho. I was completely overwhelmed, I didn't knew how to properly react to what just happened so I was just sitting there and trying to process everything.
@@ellieisnotcool yesss the ending was crazzzzy
Extracurricular is one of the best shows I’ve seen in Netflix. Watched it twice already.
Same omg I love that drama it’s so underrated
It's totally underrated. I am eagerly waiting for the second season.
Can a highly sensitive person watch it..???? I don't wanna get shocked. I know I have a weak heart 🥲
@@dreamer-ou7ml it has violence and a lot of thriller elements. So see what deems you fit 😊
@@sage8111 Oh! Thank you for letting me know!
“My Name” is quite disturbing. But it was a really good drama. Han So-Hee was excellent in her role.
I think it was more sad than disturbing
@@bekcha4170 I agree that it was sad. But the reason why I found it disturbing is the guy who tried to SA her was beating her like she was a man. The battle, that she had to endure was no joke. It was great that she was able to protect herself. If I had been in a situation like that I KNOW I would have gotten owned. 😭
I remember watching Save Me and Strangers From Hell at the same time 😩 too much anxiety
I think Missing 9 should be added too. It was creepy watching how a celebrity would turn into a murderer inorder to survive on a deserted island. What was worse was how he continued this even after being rescued and returning to Seoul just to save face and not get arrested.
I have seen "Strangers from hell", "Save me" and "the glory" all in this chronological order. Save me was really dark for me. Unlike "strangers from hell" which I enjoyed even though it deserves it own spot in how creepy it was. Like seeing lee dong wook in goblin and then him as this crazy psychopath was just mindblowing. I mean he's a versatile actor. As for "the glory" it was too painful for me. I was furious, heartbroken, felt helpless but the revenge was the satisfying part. Save me must've taken a toll on the actress because I can imagine how she must've felt giving life to her character. Cults are the scariest and if you get sucked into them may God help you. The ending cant say it was a good or a bad one but at least she got out of that hell.
you should watch the penthouse
@@georgiana1147 planning to watch it soon
@@Sunflowersarepretty damn it will change ur life😭
@@georgiana1147 kdramas have changed my life.. how else would this one change?😭😭
Not a drama, but Lee Byunghun's "I Saw The Devil" terrified me. I've only seen it once and I'll never watch it again, but it was some of the best acting I have seen. Major props to those who worked on it
Is it horror?
@@OA_2121 It's more of a thriller
@@diorkunge ohh
Still one of the most disturbing film. the ending was so satisfying.
Save Me really got into me. I saw signs from our church related to the drama but not to that extent nevertheless, I never went back to the same church. 😅
mouse had it's fair share of disturbing scenes didn't it
And the plot twist.... I didnt see that coming.
Yeah I can see how being in something like Save Me would mess with you 💯 I'm just watching it and it definitely messes with you emotionally
Stranger from hell is like a nightmare for me .. that story stays with me for so long... Usually i watch dramas at night but I was not able to watch this drama at night bcoz I was too disturbed 😅😅 but it's a worth watching and after you watch this just watch a romcom drama if you don't want a disturb mind .. may be I am a very sensitive person that's why this happened with me 😅😅
is it 18+?
Seo ye ji was phenomenal in "save me"
“Through the darkness” was another disturbing watch, especially one killer who keeps popping up my mind was the one who said that after he killed he experienced a feeling of euphoria… 🥶🥶🥶 though the drama was a hard watch, it was definitely worth it. 👍
method acting is scary, dаmn!! i hope all the actors are talking care of themselves and got to recover from the experience
Here are some more recommendations..
Through the darkness
The guest 2018
The king of pig
Children of a lesser god
The smile has left your eyes
Beyond evil
Hometown
These r soo good and some of them are underrated
Good list =)
Another one i would add that was a movie is "Hope"
VIP reminds me a little bit of the drama Justice staring Choi Jin Hyuk. I will admit I am not a prolific k-drama watcher and maybe the subject matter has been covered before (actresses forced to exchange favours to stay in the game). This was the first time it was so blatantly in your face about what goes on with some of these rookie actresses, its horrible what these women have to go through
Save me and the glory mainly seo ye ji and hye ko iare superb. Acting
Thanks for the vid, I am going to see the one you just talked
Thanks to this video....i saw strangers from hell 😭😭🥺🥺 n i freaking love it 😭🥺
The glory still touches my bone up till today, because it was so real life
Strangers from hell is definitely the disturbing one for me but lee dongwook and im si wan did an amazing job on they're roles
What a coincidence ye jee started to have sleep paralysis coz of her role in her first drama that went super hit globally and then she acted in her super hit drama it's ok not to be okk in which her character ko moon young hade sleep paralysis
Kim young kwang in Somebody got to me!
Because of the VIP, it introduced me to Lee Jongsuk and fell in love to him, I watched my very first kdrama with him as the leading man. But the movie was intense and had a lot of intense scene but Lee Jong suk played the role well, I liked it.
A Frozen Flower pretty much shows everything! It’s actually a great story and shows the depth of all emotions!
Thanks for drama recommendation, I'm gonna watch these all
Strangers from hell really did not sit well with me, I really could not bear watching it, but I wanted to get through it to get to the end. Kudos to all the acting and the directors and everything, but it was horror at its finest…
the glory" for me i started out Unsettled and angry (as someone who was builled hit home)But that feeling turned into Empowering and rooting for ML/FL
the pain,anger,empowerment,revenge,love (i loved it.)
i think Korean social issue dramas are more scarier than horror ones... sometimes they even change the way you think..the writers man..
Strangers from hell is one of my favorite drama and i love that😂
Song hye kyo did a great job in the glory 💯
This is what I've been saying. I've been refusing to watch dramas that depict the mean parts of Korean culture. I've never known in my life that bullying could get that brutal. But its no wonder if the Korean culture is being truthfully depicted concerning parent, teacher, boss and spouse abuse. Do parents really tell their children that they're a disappointment and useless and compare them to their siblings and others? Do they threaten to abandon them or kill them? Do women emasculate their husbands regularly, bossing them around and hitting them and calling them names? Do those in authority really kick their subordinates in the shins and hit them with books? They're also OBSESSED with revenge. I don't watch that stuff. If the nation is so concerned about bullying, why are they encouraging parents, teachers, bosses, and spouses to treat people like dogs? No, in fact, if someone treated a dog like that, they'd be fined. And pouring water on someone's head...and throwing salt at them? Seriously?
strangers from hell is one of the best thrillers ive ever seen.. like its so good i cant even explain
i literally finished strangers from hell yesterday and the plot twist in the last episode really fucked with my brain
I couldn't even finish episode 1 of save me...
where is this available??
I saw VIP and I thought it was well done and compelling. He did a great job at portraying a serial killer. And wanting everything light and fluffy pretending that this is not a reality in every country is foolish. People need to learn that sometimes the most evil people in the world hide behind a pretty face and sweet smile
I was bullied in high school to the piti wanted to end it all so the glory for me hit different
Strangers from hell is my favorite. Slow-burning horror that messes with your head.
DP was chilling. There’s a lot of it in USA military as well. It’s just buried.
Penthouse even through i didn't watched it i just watched 2 episode of that drama and that's enough for me to get mentally disturbed
do a review on duty after school
I've seen half of the list the rest I haven't so I won't watch those parts yet
I'm recently watching " Save Me " these days. I found that the drama is very very disturbing but also interesting. After watching Sang-mi trying to run away from bad guys and being tortured I had nightmares.
the first episode of extra-curricular i was already tremble by watching
I've watched VIP before and I can definitely see why that people think the movie was really distasteful. I was very disturbed when I watched it
I cant belive the glory actually happened 😮 i cant belive ppl like this exist 😮 but i dont get why she let it go this far 😮 its scary that these movies are base on reality poor people who have to go through this how scary our society is
I'm comenting at 45:44 of "Silenced" movie....
I paused, idk if i can continue anymore....
If they didn’t show the scene i would never ever realized the depth of "child sexual harassment" I felt like i was being raped, when he looked through the top of toilet i got scared so much fr
I mean we often get to hear it but watching it is terrifying and the fact that this is what that child's got to see even worse maybe when they were being molested. I can't even imagine.
The most disturbing kdramas/kmovies I’ve ever seen were definitely Strangers from Hell, VIP, Oldboy and I Saw the Devil
1:52 SAVE ME portrayed by my Queen Seo Yea ji.. Just phenomenal performance 👑😩❤
Love her.. She sleeped paralysis from that for 3months 👀
Now I want to be an actress so bad...
Lee Dong wook he's a great actor from goblin, tale of nine I love him, seo she's so good to good I feel bad when they do such scenes 'go thru depression that's bad, Glory even watching I felt bad
LDW woke up his dark side with that role, it's good that he notice 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. 'Save Me', 'Beyond Evil' and 'The Guest' got me into K dramas
when i was watching the first episode of save me, i already felt the direction of where it was leading. it was too heavy/disturbing for me so i stopped watching it.
Alone from the thumbnail I knew immediately what drama she means… girl it did not only disturb you 😭
0:40 😱 I gotta see this!!!
i don't watch them drama yet because i don't the heart to watch them i need more energy to watch them drama i think in summer after my exams
you forgot Weak hero class and silenced but that all nice, save me was freaking disturbing it make my heart grown anger to the man pastor of the church, after this drama she was sooo affected the actress that she played another one that affected her more it was It's okay to be not okay. But this time they gave her some great memories and romance so she won't be that affected like Save me.
I see as 6drama you should definitely watch
Its a technique to drop the character, but the heart is a sponge. It’s impossible not to be effected by darkness when you work on long projects.
Some may not understand but when you get close to the occult you’re crossing a line. There’s a price to pay and effects they will occur. And as to Glory i felt that the young Lead was so much stronger and braver than Song.
I think Weak hero class 1 should be added too :'(
Out of these all, i have only seen Save Me and Extracurricular but I think Save Me was... disturbing af
ok so i knew that lee dong wook is the psycho in strangers of hell but i never knew that this drama would be this effed up. IT WAS A NIGHTMARE. I have a habit to watch something while I am eating and I DARED myself to watch this show while eating but guess what... I almost puked but anyways I liked the trauma
Save me was the most traumatic one. I was one of the first kdrama i watched and first thriller and that drama was suffocating in a bad way. It was good but leaves something inside of you and due to this feeling i never watched the season 2
Save Me was so unsettling and depressing.
The guy who was the dentist would make a great vampire.
Save Me was truly terrifying!
I'm so confused why did lee dong wook said he hit rock bottom after starring in goblin i love that show😭
Oh i didn’t know Lee Dong Wok was in it
Lee dongwook 😍😍😍😍
I am glad they did not show any animals being actually hurt. Or small children. That is when I feel I would turn it off.
Save me is just woww
Its okay to not to be okay is the disturbing for me. But, great actors, and ambiance to. Just didnt like the other etc
Haha, omg i've seen 3 of these. I wonder if that makes me good?
VIP was so upsetting to watch, thank goodness the ending gave a satisfying result. I would definitely not watch it more than once though.
Everyday I’m looking for shows like strangers from hell
I love movies like V.I.P it was really good
Goblin was amazing though!
I think the worse one I've watched is old people raping mute children and that was based on a true story. 😢
Save Me is the only one, ive seen...
I understand the grownups being killed as it is acting but animals or small children do not comprehend.
v.i.p is my favorite movie
Now I`m worried for all male kpop idols who are in military service right now and will go soon :( Stay safe and stay strong, guys
penthouse is the most disturbing drama for me
For me not at all, you should try save me
