Awesome video!!! One correction. What you are calling Virgula is actually called retrocesso. Easiest way to remember Virgula is initiated moving forwarded to change direction and retrocesso is initiated moving backwards to change direction. Retrocesso almost always includes the shuffle step. Virgula can be done without the shuffle.

You just answered a question that I was asking myself because I could feel the similarities between the virgula and the retrocesso.
I'm intrigued man.. Could you share more about your kizomba journey?

Thanks for clarifying that for us. I learned this concept from my teachers in 2012, and perhaps I did not fully understand the concept as they taught it, or perhaps they gave us the incorrect terminology. As someone who believes that terminology is vital in good teaching and learning, I'm always eager to learn.

@@paradisoacademyonlinedance7667i, yeah great video. A few things I would love to see in videos: 1. I know loads of moves and can join them together in a fluid enough way, but often end up doing the same moves over and over because I just can't keep a lot of moves im my head all at once. Especially, with ladies I often dance with- I feel pressure to be more original. I worry I am boring them. Do you have an strategy for that. 2. How to lead touches well? 3. Let me think I have a lot more questions..... 3. Keeping good posture..

Also, kizomba feels so deadly serious a lit if the time. Any ideas to lighten it up. I feel like people focus so much on 'connection' that they often don't acheive it because they are so tense about it.

@@ronron9410 1)The best way to multiply your moves and to be more musical is to play around with tempo changes. 2) Make sure that your core is engaged and then lead from your center. 3)It's a big issue in Kizomba. Many of the stars that we look up to are usually looking down at their feet when they dance. Good luck with that issue bro :)

@@ronron9410 I always add levity by smiling at my partner from time to time when she gets a tricky move. The smile also validates to her that she did the right thing. It's a win win situation.

Wow, congratulations maestro! As a dance teacher of 20 years I understand how challenging it can be, so I salute your long and hard work. Great teachers recognise great teachers, and it's the bad teachers that sometimes cause others to become great by being bad at what they do. Thank you for your lovely comment!
