Ngl, Sora’s downthrow kinda reminds me of of the Failsafe RC in the same way the Morning Star one does, he throws the Nobody into the ground with his left hand; it’s just not quite as fast. Pretty good connection nonetheless, thank you!

Up throw also seems pretty close to Sora throwing the first Larxene upward. The way he turns the keyblade during his final smash reminds of several of his KH1 summon animations

I noticed this in some KH2 videos lmfao I think finishing with certain attacks midair make you default back to the standing pose for a few seconds if you finish the battle with it Sometimes you'll notice him suddenly snap to his falling animation before the screen fully fades like "OH WAIT SHIT I'M FALLING"
I think Sora's down throw might pull more closely from the Assassin's reaction command. Also as many have mentioned the up tilt seems to closely resemble the Neoshadow command the most.
So wait, was the move showcase linked to the clothing option? I would say the ending for stamina mode is more similar to KH1 since Sora doesn't need to use a finisher. The camera movement and blurring effect was more KH1 than it was KH2.

It was designed for PS2 resolutions on older screens, so obviously they omitted the details in such a busy scene. Doesn't make it any less awesome or iconic.

@@roybusiness6929 Sakurai and the devs had a rule where characters that did not originate from games can't be repped at all in smash so no disney characters heavily referenced makes sense and its perfectly fine. Idk how long this rule will be around but i kind of like it honestly.

Due to that exact diagonal angle you're complaining about, it looks more like KH1's retaliation move Sora uses after a successful Guard. It's not entirely clear but in that case the move would have the exact same trajectory as in the original game.
Would've been too slow for what they wanted for Sora's playstyle, but then you have to ask why they didn't go with Blitz? Probably because it would pop him in the air like the Finishing Leap inspired down smash, but they could've just used Explosion since they already pulled up smash from KH3's Magic Flash. Really, I think Blitz should be down smash, and Guard Break should've been forward smash, that way you have a different finisher from each numbered game.

As for the sora being a bad character, he’s had decent characterization I think the big issue is whether the characterization is good or well written, but whether they’ve remained mostly consistent in said characterization. Which isn’t the case. Sometimes they develop backwards lol I think we should all just be glad KH has some competent writing from time to time lol

I would have loved that fire key move from the trailer. I believe it's a reference to kh3. It would have been a bit more creative.
His Guard + Retaliation is kinda key to his moveset in the original games, so while I get your point I don't think it's much of an issue. I'm a little bummed his Final Smash isn't Ars and that Strike Raid is missing entirely, but overall he's pretty well represented imo. Most of his gameplay will revolve around aerial combos, so it's gonna be just like the original games, which is awesome.

I think the aerial combo im smash resembles KH2 soras base air-combo more than KH1 soras air combo.
