Solo queue survivor is actually so good in 2v8, no facecamping, teammates run good perks, constant info on everything… I wouldn’t imagine i was gonna have fun on 2v8 as solo survivor too but it’s so good (and duo killer is even better but i mean duh)
Give survivors a significant xp boost. Bloodpoints are nice but at that point they fill too quickly and you spend too much time spending them. At least xp is a tangible reward, especially for newer players
Best part is your traps can actually tell you where the cages will spawn. I was watching Pupper and Hens play and in his Trapper match he couldn't put a trap close to a corner. Mid round a cage spawned right where he couldn't place it and he ended up unintentionally trapping the cage - something the game stops you from doing by moving the cage after staying near it.
I don't think it's 2v8 being the reason you've had the most fun. I think it's because you've finally gotten to go on Killer dates with your boyfriend Zub. I heard the talk of when ya'll were getting married.
It’s crazy. Took dbd, a game awkwardly stuck between a comp game and a party game, and made it just a party game. Suddenly everyone loves it again. It’s almost like variety is key to loving a game like this
Maybe if a player plays a round of survivor, they get a temporary priority queue when playing killer? If people wanna play killer on this mode, incentivize that rather than hand survivors more bloodpoints...
The killer ques aren't long because there aren't enough killers, they're long because there are too many people wanting to play the most fun role in the game mode (killer) and not the least fun (survivor). Survivor side feels pretty much the same as regular dbd + a few little gimmicks and yet more frustrating due to the 'knight on crack' effect of vsing two killers. It doesn't matter how good you are, if they both want you, you WILL die. Anything that basically removes skill expression isn't going to feel great. It feels icky to be doing really well running a killer just to get sniped from halfway across the map by a stray hatchet, lol. And before anyone complains, we wouldn't need a 400%+ BP bonus if people enjoyed the survivor side, lol. It's simply only fun to play 2v8 as killer.
The mode's really fun, but I've mostly been playing solo survivor and I do think there's some issues the will hurt it in the long run, once the honeymoon phase is over. I'm mostly keeping this comment focused on the question of, "is this fun?" rather then "is this balanced. Most obvious, why does nurse have 8 add-ons base kit? And why does she get her iri when the other killer is within 16 meters? She's the strongest killer, so why does she have the strongest innate and team perks? More so then 1 V 4, if you go against a good nurse, you might as well wait for hatch to spawn. 2nd, getting two tapped is always going to feel bad on survivor. But on the other hand, taking this out does take away some of the fun that playing with another killer can bring. This is the most complicated problem for me, as while there's an easy fix if they want to (3 to 5 seconds of endurance apron losing a health state, and to compensate maybe make it so survivors have to repair 10 out of 15/16 gens to compensate?), I don't know if that would make the mode better in the long run. 3rdly, survivor role design / why queue times are bad. Currently there is 4 survivor roles, and only 1 and a half feel useful. Lets start with the universal perk, self care and unbreakable on "death hook / cage". The unbreakable aspect of this is useless, no killer is going to slug a person on death hook, and if they are slugging, there gonna do it from the start and hold you hostage- which was one of the survivor games I played earlier. The self-care itself is also a bit too slow for such a fast passed game mode. Now on to the role's themselves. Scout is pretty useless as of this iteration because wraith is very common, and if other stealth killers have a similar passive, this role's value will be further diminished. I also think the line of sight part of the role might be a bit buggy- but I'm not sure/ Way finder / the gen one. Good idea but they really played it safe- only a 16 meter aura read for gens? Seriously? Extra great skill check progress is good- but rng reliant. Showing the gen your working on to teammates is a really good skill, considering how (in my opinion) you should actually consider grouping up in this mode- but not worth a role slot IMO. Overall- mid to below average. The healing one is good, but the numbers are still pretty safe, would prefer to have the numbers boosted and for some killers team ability to give status aliments (like anti-heal) to M1 attacks. Seeing injured teammates is also a good plus. And finally chaser, the only role that really feels as chaotic and active as the killer side. Window of opportunity base kit, old made for this and a team sprint burst? If roles are the way they want to go with this mode, they need to take notes from this role and make the existing and future roles as active as this one (if they can). This is why queue times are bad, too few roles and even fewer active ones that feel meaningful. 4th, Customization: Part of the fun of DBD is the different builds you can run, from add-ons to perks to offering, making a unique build and finding success with it is fun. That is not present in the survivor side, and I don't really think various killer combo's will satisfy this itch on the killer side. Hopefully there's some way to add this variety found in the base game into this mode. Other then that, that's all I've noticed after playing about 15 to 20 survivor matches (I LOVE BLOODPOINTS). I know this is a pretty critical comment but I'm still having a blast with this mode, and I'm gonna hop back into it after a break.
Most sane comment I've seen on this. Killer is a blast, but getting teamed on by any combo of killer gets old after the 1st few times and is like going against knight (which most find annoying) on steroids. Some kind of altruism needs to be an incentive otherwise you're just a gen jockey.
I would have been ok with a 2v4 mode where killers are massively nerfed and in which you can still play competitively, rather than a 2v8fest where you cant even fill a comp team in because who really has 7 other friend to play surv with? Also what are the 8 survivors really meant to do when theres still only 2 killers. Fixing gens is not the high point for playing surv so i think this was a major fuck up for survs. Also this gamemode is just obsolete for survs now thanks to the 2 ranged killers and it was not that fun playing alongside a nurse/huntress. Also also i mostly only play killer, and mathematically i cant think how is this fun.
What makes me sad is the guide class bonus only applies to other people on the gen with you hitting skill checks so if I run it and hit great skill checks on my own I get nothing. The aura read and stuff is nice but people don't exactly have trouble finding gens to work on. Scout can be okay if killers split up but yeah I feel like you want 4 escapists always and then the rest don't matter they feel bland and too generic to push you in that direction
I personally find it exciting getting chased and hit by two killers. I take the game as fun, i dont care about balancing at all. I just want chaos and fun.
Iirc back when you could bug lobbies with multiple killers there were weird interactions with Freddy and doctor where you couldn't snap out of madness while asleep
I had this once and recorded it, once I was under the influence of the doctor's shock, I wasn't able to interact with anything for the rest of the game
Iirc Overwatch used to give out priority passes; if you played the roles people didn't want to play (support and tank) for like a couple games, you could get quicker queue times for the role most people wanted to play (DPS). Maybe they could do something similar?
Priority passes OMEGALUL. Use priority pass just to get stuck in queue for dps for 1 hour instead of 2. I don't want to see that dogshit system ever again.
Add irridecent shards for playing survivor or something like 50-100 per gane or something much harder to earn than bloodpoints and would add a lot of incentive to play surv.
The game was fun on survivor when you're not getting double fisted by nurse huntress and your randoms are actually doing gens, but that was unfortunately a rarity.
Something many people overlooked is that many long term issues with 1v4 are being experimented on, for example by changing the hook mecanic. There used to be a lot of proxy camping, tunneling and slugging and survivors could gen rush very fast, but now, since you can instant hook, there is a lot less gen rushing. So this is a nice trade off that somehow fixes the problem of BOTH sides. The class system means that we see a lot less lame builds that are just here to be op! No more 4 gen slow down, no more 4 second chance perks, just predetermined classes of (soon to be) balanced abilities. Loading is now a lot quicker because there are no offerings, no more sending the other to a broken map, and now when in solo queue your chances do not change much weather you have comp teammates with the best builds or casuals.
The class system removes what kept dbd fresh over the years, survivor is boring after 2 games as its just gens and healing with shorter chases where instead of looping its just delay the hit as your being zoned by two ppl
@@1-seed-slot-pvz-YT when i get in 1v1 situations it seems to me that only two things happen, a normal loop but the killer leaves the chase earlier than usual as they have nore options, or it doesn't stay a 1v1 for long.
@@Rich-AF the fun part is trying to find a way to counter 2 powers working together. The escapist skill allows you to get away at high speed, so the other killer does not necessarily have the ability to join the fight (unless you pick a garbage skill like he generators one).
I think part of the core problem with the matchmaking imbalance is that Killer is infinitely more interesting and fun than Survivor. In the effort to balance the mode, survivor was streamlined and simplified to such an extreme degree that you're only doing gens, healing, or chases (with it heavily leaning towards gens/healing, the most boring part of survivor). Altruistic actions like taking hits are far more difficult to do when there are two killers, and things like pallet/flashlight saving are downright impossible given how the mode is structured. I played a few games with some friends on survivor, but the gameplay got really same-y real fast and we just decided to move back to normal gameplay instead. Meanwhile Killer feels more varied because of the different combos you can do with the other killer, and you're able to be more tactical and coordinated if you're playing with a friend. It's a much more unique experience, so it draws in people way more. In order for this game mode to be sustainable, they need to find a way to add more variety to Survivor, but I'm not really sure what the answer to that is in order to keep the mode balanced.
I can't wait for all killers to be available in this mode. I've said this elsewhere but the possibilities of so many team ups is insane. Myers and ghostface, bubba and billy, xeno and demo, nemesis and wesker, nurse and doctor, so many combos that would be super iconic.
the pure chaos of running around the map, downing people fast, and moving on right away as objectives pop left and right is really reminding me of Deathgarden, and honestly that alone is good enough for me-
playing survivor at the moment feels really weak, because you have no big weight in the outcome of the game and getting double teamed by the killers feels cheap from your POV. Maybe they can give a strong buff to survivors, so killers NEED to cooperate to reliably down survivors, like 10% permanent haste or health state regen in 30 seconds. Of course those changes are strong, and would be more suited for a 2v4 or something. I hope they make survivor more FUN to play, so it's fun, of course, but also to unclog the killer queue. And they should totally add attacking the other killer to stun them, so if 2 killers try to attack you and you juke them they slam into each other. Or bring back hooks so survivors can protect each other after being downed.
It looks so fun, I just don't see survivors enjoying it for very long at the moment. I am worried its not going to be playable once the "new toy" feeling wears off. Edit: To further expand on this, if survivor population drops que times are going to stay insane. Maybe adding a que that has BOTH 1v4 and 2v8 at the same time, and just prioritize finding 2v8 games over 1v4. But idk.
I don't think 2v8 is that good either, playing as killer is as fun as it is in core, but survivor is way less fun. i prefer my games longer lasting with less players.
propose to fix to queue times, everyone killer main has to alternate to survivor once every x amount of killer games and add some sort of requirement so people can't go in the survivor games and grief match to die fast. if that is too forceful then lower the priority for people that are spamming killer games by a percentage every game so their queue times are longer and reset it after they get into a survivor game
The only real way I can see Behavior fixing queue times is by making survivor more fun. You could do this by adding more roles for the survivors. Or a crazy one I thought of was that now you can have killer synergies, why not do the same thing for survivor, for example if you run Thalita and Renato in the same lobby a certain buff gets activated for the trial, probably not feasible with the amount of survivor combos they would have to implement but just a wild thought I had.
Let’s be honest with ourselves, Scott could cooks a lot when it comes to his opinions. Sometimes he’s Gordon Ramsey and sometimes he burns the kitchen down…
Only thing i would argue is that the event is rougher on the survivor side. My friend 2-3 chases in different 2 games was him just getting teamed by the killers. other chases was just normal DBD. If they give some extra spicy on the survivor side to sortoff deal with 2 killers. maybe like some haste (if 2 killers are near you) just something in that area and I think it would be a lot more enjoyeble on the survivor side atleast. Wich can also gather more people to queue for survivors instead of killers. But thats just the experience with me and my friend today.
Agree on the haste paste completely, some the potential fun to be had with this mode you don't get with 1v4 is juking two killers at once, but as it stands its basically game over anytime the killers decided to gank regardless of your input, which isn't as interesting as it could be imo
I wonder if this gamemode is going to suffer the same problem URF does in League of Legends where people play the hell out of the game and it becomes a huge steroid for the game until it burns out and people take huge breaks or even straight up never return to the game.
Easily the most fun thing they've ever done. The balancing so far is fantastic, I expected a shitshow but games could quickly go in either direction. Also, they actually made Trapper feel good to play,? Like someone will step in a cool trap cross map and you aren't sad you can't punish it because you simply don't gotta, your Wraith, Hillbilly or Nurse is already on it! Awesome.
Maybe I'm the only one who feels this way but 2v8 feels INCREDIBLY killer-sided. I have never seen a game where we got the exits unlocked via generators. It always ended with people ratting around for the hatch. Keep in mind I'm low MMR. (My friend got a game where all 8 people escaped but that was because there was a missing tile and the hillbilly yeeted himself over the edge & ran around the outside of the map, so it was a 1v8 essentially)
The queues definitely suck, but this is definitely the most fun I've ever had playing this game. I'm doing solo q killer, and it's a blast. Haven't been paired with a hillbilly yet though.
Ok so I have played some solo queue with survivor (not with killer yet). I think it's still fun as solo queue for survivor because you can basically just do what you want without too much consequence since there is 7 other people, you can just not even do gens and go around helping people out or scouting out the killers. But it's probably more fun with more survivors.
there's another bug where you'll load into groaning storehouse and it's a normal sized map that still has hooks. the cages spawn inside the hooks and sometimes survivors literally cannot save
Honestly all they have to do is implement a feature that disables killers power for a brief period of time and that will allow them to add every killer in the game. Make it so that pallet stuns and flashlight blinds disables their power for 30 seconds and it just automatically turns any killer into a basic M1 killer for 30 seconds. Trappers traps get disabled, pigs trap timers are paused and she can’t dash, myers loses his tier 3 etc. Oh yeah and don’t even give nemesis his zombies to begin with. It might sound too OP at first but all you have to do is start respecting pallets and turn away when they shine a flashlight… which is what good killers should be doing anyways. Besides, if they want a flashlight they’re likely gonna have to dig through multiple chests which takes them off the gens. Then they have to actually GET the flashlight save successfully.
I’ve found survivor to be super fun too. It’s just nonstop chaos, hardly any time spent hooked/slugged. No three gens or solo queue lack of info. Mode is 10/10
Killer is a blast, it was always going to be, survivor is fun as well, but queue times ARE a problem lol. I really think on the survivor sider, long term, they will never be able to make 8 survivors want to play for ever 2 killers In terms of playing with all of your friends too, killing in this mode has so much potential meanwhile survivor, 8 people in a comm is complete and utter chaos. (Text incoming, Love this game mode, just big game design junkie so I just love to speculate on how it could be improved as well) Personally what I'D like to see is them take the gamemode from 2v8 and make it 2v6 or at least 2v7. Alot more actual possibility for surv friends to get a team of 6 people to play together rather than 8, a lot more reasonable that they'd be able to play reasonably coordinated (probably the biggest fun to be had in a mode like this as survivor) Queue times would be better for killer, gameplay for killers change minimally. Also I'm a bit sad there is no hooking, or a type remote hooking, just picking up the survivor before you send them away. not being able to flashlight save, or defend your killer bud from BEING flashlight saved is a crime against funhood. Alot of potential fun to be had here is the experience of juking two killers at once as well, the issue being currently that once the second killer shows up to the chase its basically over immediately every time. I think it'd be alot more interesting on both ends if when your both chasing a survivor they get at least get some tools to compensate (options could be sumn like a free dead hard, or big haste buff), forcing you to coordinate to take them down, since chances are they are giving you trouble already if your calling over killer number 2 to get them. and just to give the survivor a little more options in that scenario, To me It's been alot more fun being chased by one killer than another another than has been both at once. It luckily it seems the optimal strategy so far has been to split up most of the time, but for the games I played where the two killers stuck together like glue, the gankfest of chases were amusing at first, but not very interactive on my part, so I can see it getting tiring over time without some sort of change to give the survivor more of a fighting chance One more eency weency thing, I really do enjoy the class system they have for survivors, I honestly wish it was partly base game as well. But the player expression and synergie potential available from perks is too much to have literally no inclusion in the mode, and while I agree that 4 perks on 8 survs would be ridiculous, or 8 slowdown on killer, but I do think 1 or 2 perk slots would not go unappreciated, assuming that they drip feed them into the mode a few at a time as they are doing with the killers.
This mode got me to try killer again after years. I feel more comfortable messing up in this mode and learning. Worth the queue time for me tbh it's so great!
I absolutely agree with you here. It's insane how much fun we had as duo killer. It's so satisfying having someone chase someone, hit them and then snipe them with Huntress for that sweet double tap. If queue times weren't this horrible I would genuinely play this more as well.
I LOVE playing killer with a friend, but I do think they need to tweak the survivor roles a little to make them more unique and rewarding. Killer gets a whole new experience (which is fine since that's the whole point of the mode), while for survivor it's just more of the same, with classes that can (for the most part) all be achieved in a normal match using perk builds. There's also the connection issues resulting in BS hits galore, as well as randoms that are seemingly even more boosted than in your regular solo queue games (which is honestly almost impressive.) The mode is great, but it's a bit of an issue when one side is so much more fun than the other that everybody only wants to play that, especially when it is to a point that it affects the lobby times this much. TL;DR: They need to set the survivor experience apart more and make it more unique, so that killer doesn't seem like the objectively better way to experience this mode.
If, in future, they keep this mode permanent alongside bringing back Chaos Shuffle, then those 2 additional, permanent modes (alongside adding other modes as limited time game modes) will be the best thing for this game.
They can really add to this game mode with new killers and like new classes. One Idea I had was a brawler class with a passive that makes pallet stuns last longer and maybe basekit dh or ds.
My theory is that queue times will become better, once there are more killers to play. If 10 players queue up as huntress, and one as nurse, the other 9 huntresses will have to wait, because they're not able to play with each other obviously. I don't know which killer is the most popular in this, but I can imagine that the distribution is not even.
Haven't played it yet but maybe this is a great way to balance maps in the future - the biggest outlier maps for 1v4 could be used solely for 2v8 with some tweaks. Either way, it seems cool to make/balance some maps specifically for 2v8 and some for 1v4 imo.
I've had my own problems with the azarov's maps. In two different killer matches, there were missing chunks, the ground was red and the outer wall was open so survivors could fall out of the map.
It is extremely fun playing killer, but playing survivor is fun... until every game is huntress nurse combo, then it's just gg go next. Also, has anyone experienced people not being able to be saved because they are between a hook and wall/tree? I did see map chunks not loading, billy having no sound on saw, and vaulting without sound, and wraith' s bell just floating in the air.
The only thing I can think of to improve matchmaking would be an unpopular option. When you queue you select both a survivor and killer and which you actually get is RNG. Similar to Friday the 13th. Once a lobby is filled, THEN it would choose who plays the killers based on their selections. Unfortunately there would probably be people DCing if they don't get their preferred role. And the system would have to take player groups into account when deciding who plays the killers (not splitting up parties).
idea: weekly or bi-weekly event mode rotation, rotating between different special modes such as 2v8, chaos shuffle, anniversary mode, etc but there will always be one special mode active to play other than the base game
2 changes would make survivors experience better for me: - Make it 2v6 but every survivor has 4 hooks to die instead of 3. - When two killer chase one survivor he gets high haste effect (or both killers get hindered).
The fix is simple but tricky to implement. Make it more engaging for survivors than sitting on gens. Thats always been one of the biggest issues with the game but one thats rarely brought up. I have to bring up friday the 13th as an example. The counselors had SO many options to escape the match. Cars, boats, calling for help, outlasting the clock and so on. One of the biggest complaints I've seen with 2v8 is that they added a lot with killers (team ups) but nothing really new for survivors besides more gens.
I played solo queue survivor as someone who’s not very good at it, It felt really bad to be tunnelled off cage by huntress’s hitboxes and thats not even a 2v8 issue
I would honestly be okay with them not allowing certain killer combinations if it helps at all with releasing new killers into 2v8. I’m more specifically thinking of infection type killers like nemesis (main), plague, wesker, etc. Being infected by two killer powers at a time would probably suck
I doubt they'll add any licensed killers soon cuz the legal issues that could come out of it but if they add Freddy I feel like he would bug the game out the most
a few ideas for queue times: - add a “squad” system with voice chat. 2/4 people per to keep things quiet. add extra bonuses for the squad that does best (maybe in some random challenge determined at the start of each match) - spawn power ups as the game progresses. crazy shi- like +30% movement speed, insta downs, etc. - remove survivor movement limitations like window vault blocks, pallet vault cooldown, etc. - add some rare/busted event items to make people hyped about the survivor side and yeah, most of those kinda hurt the balance. but for fun, i wouldn’t complain either way ✨
I haven't actually played DbD in around 4+ years. This mode finally made me reinstall, and I spent the entire day playing 2v8. Not ONLY because it was so fun and, like you said, suprising balanced, but because nobody is absolutely sweating ass. Went back into a standard 1v4, and back to back, I got just absolute sweat lord Spirit players. I was quickly reminded why I un-installed those many years ago. Went back to 2v8 and have no intention of looking back.
i played the mode yesterday only as survivor and it was surprisingly fun as well. knowing that when u juice up a killer for a bit that is a massive treat for your team and frustrating only when both killers gang up on you.
The shallowness of 2v8 compared to main mode + the atrocious killer queues (that also impact 1v4 ones) make me think that this mode will cause more harm than good at long term.
Adding special abilities for survivor would definitely help the queue times. One class gets a toggle to slug crawl, one class gets old deadhard that injures them, just fun silly shit to make survivor gameplay unique too
I mean a really rudimentary fix for the queue times is for a pity system on killer where after two minutes or some amount of time you get added to survivor queue as well and after getting a game or two of survivor you get increased status where you get next killer game available, im sure people wouldnt be super happy getting survivor matches but it will add players to the survivor pool as well as you will probably end up getting a killer match at around the same timeframes anyways
Solutions: Make it custom game avail number one, my friends are all on standby to buy it JUST for 2v8 with the boys Allow you to queue for survivor and reserve your slot in killer if a match is ready so you don’t sit there for a full episode of a tv show to play the game listening to huntress breathing
I thought Azarov's was the most killer sided map, frankly. Pallets are fairly unsafe, map is extremely open so survivors can be seen from very far away, and there is no godly main structure. Also, multiple times me and my friend were able to 6 gen, which is hilarious. If we didn't at least 6K, it was on us (my friend is very inexperienced as killer). On the other hand... Red Forest was the hardest map for us by far. We didn't 6K+ once, and got trounced at least once. Pallets chain like crazy, map is massive with so many LOS blockers, with loop structures pretty solid on average, meaning you either need to break the pallet or have your teammate with you to get downs. Also, the main building is just godly. Especially if the god window is in the right spot on the 1st floor. Note: I mostly played as Wraith, with my friend as Huntress. So mayhaps it is just a really bad combo on that map. Could also be our play style just doesn't work on that map. But it felt like the strongest map by far, while Azarov's felt very fair, heck, even killer sided. Even with all the bugged areas/glitched pallets, we pretty thoroughly destroyed the survivors every time. Love the new mode, btw. With some polish, and of course faster queue times, I'll be very happy.
To the Bugs: I had a match with 6 friends. We had a map on autohaven where the borderline of the map was OPEN at one point. So you could run arround the map outside. Behind the Escape Gates etc. So that was weird.
The dbd cycle is they just coast off past achievements until it becomes OVERWHELMINGLY OBVIOUS that people are leaving in mass, then they finally do something. Either way, we got the game we wanted eventually so yayyyyy?
What if they made it like Friday 13th where there isn't an option to expressly play as killer, but it selects two random players from the lobby to play killer (if grouped it will make both killers from the same group). If you DC, your chances of getting killer drop a ton, but if you complete a match as survivor, your chances go up. For players that just want to play survivor, they could opt out of this lottery system for extra bps.
There's that one map where you can just walk off the map, because the textures are just missing there. I didn't test, but you could maybe escape the game early trough that hole in the wall.
About bugs. I found 2, kinda. 1) One game out of 15 I think, we got spawned on default Coal Tower. Even hooks were there. It's was too small for 2 killers ofc but well, that was not a very big deal 2) Hits even worse then in regular game. Huntress can miss the hutchet but still hot you. Maybe it's just the one day thing because of the number of people playing
I think making the survivor classes (other than escapist) worth using in comparison would help queues a ton. I was super excited to play Medic, but it just seems so pointless in comparison (based on reading numbers alone, I haven’t been able to try it yet)
I think it being limited will also not help the que times. "I only have these two weeks to play duo killer? I guess I will have to play as much duo killer as possible while i can!"
DBD being so fun we can’t even get into matches was not on my 2024 bingo card
Survivor queues are instant... even in a 5 stack.

Seeing Scott straight up HAPPY with DBD is a rare treat. Hope in the future we get to see more of it.
The reason survivors are getting a BP boost at all is probably because everyone wants to play Killer.
@@Technature7567this is the reason the devs even admitted this
That's a good idea
They should use Mid-Chapter patches to add content to 2v8 so it doesn't compete with new content during new chapters.
Trapper is by far the most fun imo, placing traps in unusual spots is so satisfying for some reason
If you can find out if the cages are in the same spot in the same map everytime I'm sure you could become a Cage Trapper.
I don't think it's 2v8 being the reason you've had the most fun. I think it's because you've finally gotten to go on Killer dates with your boyfriend Zub. I heard the talk of when ya'll were getting married.
They are each others end game without the collapse
@@chemicalimbalance7030 I hate that I found that unironically cute
It’s crazy. Took dbd, a game awkwardly stuck between a comp game and a party game, and made it just a party game. Suddenly everyone loves it again. It’s almost like variety is key to loving a game like this
Maybe if a player plays a round of survivor, they get a temporary priority queue when playing killer? If people wanna play killer on this mode, incentivize that rather than hand survivors more bloodpoints...
it can end up with people queuing as survivor and running at killer to get killed ASAP, so they get priority without really having to play survivor
Idk if the OW route is the way to go
@@jokere9880Make it a reward for escaping
Nah they should focus on making survivor actually fun don't force me to play another role if u wanna do another.
Excited for when we can do Nemo and Knight at the same time so it can be 5V8. :)
As much as i hated the full rpd map it should be brought back for this mode
The blocking in corridors would be legendary I love it.
Add old RPD with the new locations they have in the new one.
Map seems too small imo
They literally only did that cause of GOATS meta. Forcing someone into a certain role stops that
That is one of the worst queue systems in gaming. Keep that away.
Don't bring this filth into DBD. Delete this post or I'm reporting you from 20 smurf accounts.
Priority passes OMEGALUL. Use priority pass just to get stuck in queue for dps for 1 hour instead of 2. I don't want to see that dogshit system ever again.
@@shreeanshmahapatra2313 quick play was not an hour wait lol.
3:21 Such hallowed words shall not be beckoned so rashly...
Actually enjoyed myself playing as both sides. 2v8 is a huge W!
Yeah this is so insanely good it feels like the idea already should’ve been had 5 years ago
Hahaha legit
Funnily enough, every survivor game I’ve played so far I faced huntress and wraith. Every single one.
Yep because its the most annoying duo and everyone knows it so they play and most op as well
Funnily enough, never ran into that combo.
@@Rich-AF well a lot of killers do not work together and you can still somewhat chase 2 killers
I've played 5 matches as survivor and it's wild fun. They need to keep this for sure.
I can't wait for all killers to be available in this mode. I've said this elsewhere but the possibilities of so many team ups is insane. Myers and ghostface, bubba and billy, xeno and demo, nemesis and wesker, nurse and doctor, so many combos that would be super iconic.
playing solo q survivor is actually very viable so far, assuming at least 3 or 4 survivors know how to loop and use the loadouts
the pure chaos of running around the map, downing people fast, and moving on right away as objectives pop left and right is really reminding me of Deathgarden, and honestly that alone is good enough for me-
playing survivor at the moment feels really weak, because you have no big weight in the outcome of the game and getting double teamed by the killers feels cheap from your POV.
Solo Survivor is actually pretty fun in 2v8 imo, you have to focus less and it’s pretty easy to just get lost in the chaos, it’s nice
Optimism and hope are dangerous things Scott
It looks so fun, I just don't see survivors enjoying it for very long at the moment. I am worried its not going to be playable once the "new toy" feeling wears off. Edit: To further expand on this, if survivor population drops que times are going to stay insane. Maybe adding a que that has BOTH 1v4 and 2v8 at the same time, and just prioritize finding 2v8 games over 1v4. But idk.
Haven’t played as killer yet but didn’t enjoy it as solo q survivor
Same
I don't think 2v8 is that good either, playing as killer is as fun as it is in core, but survivor is way less fun. i prefer my games longer lasting with less players.
Found my ppl
@zarovakalex9272 Hey, 4v1 is right there
propose to fix to queue times, everyone killer main has to alternate to survivor once every x amount of killer games and add some sort of requirement so people can't go in the survivor games and grief match to die fast. if that is too forceful then lower the priority for people that are spamming killer games by a percentage every game so their queue times are longer and reset it after they get into a survivor game
im not a fan of this mode but im happy others enjoy it. more content is better.
Same
The only real way I can see Behavior fixing queue times is by making survivor more fun.
Scott: knight is boring because zoning survivors for free hits is boring
Also Scott: zoning survivors for free hits is so much fun!
To be fair if both killers are on one survivor, then 6-7 others are doing gens. So it isn't as frustrating
Let’s be honest with ourselves, Scott could cooks a lot when it comes to his opinions. Sometimes he’s Gordon Ramsey and sometimes he burns the kitchen down…
If you're repeatedly 2v1ing people you're almost definitely losing is the difference
@@tyrone5619you got an 8 stack? Not seen more than 4 ppl on a gen yet
Knowing this mode will leave in 2 weeks hurts 😭
I don't want to wait a year for it to come back
Only thing i would argue is that the event is rougher on the survivor side.
Having a new killer added to the 2v8 mode every few months would also be a nice little thing to look forward to along with new chapter releases
3:20 lmfao glad it's still being remembered all these years later 😂
Easily the most fun thing they've ever done. The balancing so far is fantastic, I expected a shitshow but games could quickly go in either direction. Also, they actually made Trapper feel good to play,? Like someone will step in a cool trap cross map and you aren't sad you can't punish it because you simply don't gotta, your Wraith, Hillbilly or Nurse is already on it! Awesome.
The rubberbanding is real again 😭😭
Obviously the way to fix the queue time is to increase the number of killers to 3 and decrease required generators to 4.
there's another bug where you'll load into groaning storehouse and it's a normal sized map that still has hooks. the cages spawn inside the hooks and sometimes survivors literally cannot save
I played a lot of soloq killer today and it was really good, people were way more wholesome than I expected.
I really think on the survivor sider, long term, they will never be able to make 8 survivors want to play for ever 2 killers
In terms of playing with all of your friends too, killing in this mode has so much potential meanwhile survivor, 8 people in a comm is complete and utter chaos.
(Text incoming, Love this game mode, just big game design junkie so I just love to speculate on how it could be improved as well)
Personally what I'D like to see is them take the gamemode from 2v8 and make it 2v6 or at least 2v7.
Alot more actual possibility for surv friends to get a team of 6 people to play together rather than 8, a lot more reasonable that they'd be able to play reasonably coordinated (probably the biggest fun to be had in a mode like this as survivor)
Queue times would be better for killer, gameplay for killers change minimally.
I think it'd be alot more interesting on both ends if when your both chasing a survivor they get at least get some tools to compensate (options could be sumn like a free dead hard, or big haste buff), forcing you to coordinate to take them down, since chances are they are giving you trouble already if your calling over killer number 2 to get them. and just to give the survivor a little more options in that scenario,
To me It's been alot more fun being chased by one killer than another another than has been both at once. It luckily it seems the optimal strategy so far has been to split up most of the time,
but for the games I played where the two killers stuck together like glue, the gankfest of chases were amusing at first, but not very interactive on my part, so I can see it getting tiring over time without some sort of change to give the survivor more of a fighting chance
One more eency weency thing, I really do enjoy the class system they have for survivors, I honestly wish it was partly base game as well.
Worth the queue time for me tbh it's so great!
i honestly hope the devs see how much people love 2v8 and switch over to focusing on it as the main mode
ok got it!
playing this with a friend = good time
playing this by yourself = bad
wow! who could have seen that coming
There's also the connection issues resulting in BS hits galore, as well as randoms that are seemingly even more boosted than in your regular solo queue games (which is honestly almost impressive.)
The mode is great, but it's a bit of an issue when one side is so much more fun than the other that everybody only wants to play that, especially when it is to a point that it affects the lobby times this much.
TL;DR: They need to set the survivor experience apart more and make it more unique, so that killer doesn't seem like the objectively better way to experience this mode.
Fun thing: soloq in this gamemode actually feels so much more fun because it's just chaos and good times
I don't know which killer is the most popular in this, but I can imagine that the distribution is not even.
look at killer duo wait times. Yes huntress players have even longer wait times. But billys (least popular) and duos also have very long wait times.
Haven't played it yet but maybe this is a great way to balance maps in the future - the biggest outlier maps for 1v4 could be used solely for 2v8 with some tweaks. Either way, it seems cool to make/balance some maps specifically for 2v8 and some for 1v4 imo.
First time I’ve had fun with this game in about 3 years. Think it’s solely because people can’t choose a perk loadout
We already had a gamemode dedicated to that tho
I've had my own problems with the azarov's maps. In two different killer matches, there were missing chunks, the ground was red and the outer wall was open so survivors could fall out of the map.
It is extremely fun playing killer, but playing survivor is fun... until every game is huntress nurse combo, then it's just gg go next.
Also, has anyone experienced people not being able to be saved because they are between a hook and wall/tree? I did see map chunks not loading, billy having no sound on saw, and vaulting without sound, and wraith' s bell just floating in the air.
It happened to me, wasn't fun. The others had to get Huntress to go over and move me.
@@dr.fiction7 yeah that's what we had to do, was run the killers by hook. We had it happen 3 or 4 games.
It's a lot of fun, I also really like chaos shuffle. Killer CS felt so balanced compared to regular games
idea: weekly or bi-weekly event mode rotation, rotating between different special modes such as 2v8, chaos shuffle, anniversary mode, etc but there will always be one special mode active to play other than the base game
2 changes would make survivors experience better for me:
- Make it 2v6 but every survivor has 4 hooks to die instead of 3.
This is the most fun i've had in the game in years
2v8 is the best thing to ever happen to killer😭
"I think they did a pretty good job so far" -Scott 2024 on 2v8 mode
I would honestly be okay with them not allowing certain killer combinations if it helps at all with releasing new killers into 2v8. I’m more specifically thinking of infection type killers like nemesis (main), plague, wesker, etc. Being infected by two killer powers at a time would probably suck
Absolute Cinema would be 5v5 gamemode.
I just want team based gamemode where killers can work with survivors vs enemy killer survivor combo
It's not just you Azarov's has so many pallets in this mode, but I play Huntress with a Wraith duo so the hit pressure is insane.
I doubt they'll add any licensed killers soon cuz the legal issues that could come out of it but if they add Freddy I feel like he would bug the game out the most
a few ideas for queue times:
- add a “squad” system with voice chat. 2/4 people per to keep things quiet. add extra bonuses for the squad that does best (maybe in some random challenge determined at the start of each match)
- spawn power ups as the game progresses. crazy shi- like +30% movement speed, insta downs, etc.
- remove survivor movement limitations like window vault blocks, pallet vault cooldown, etc.
- add some rare/busted event items to make people hyped about the survivor side
and yeah, most of those kinda hurt the balance. but for fun, i wouldn’t complain either way ✨
I haven't actually played DbD in around 4+ years.
I haven't played Dbd in 2 years. Came back for 2v8 and having so much fun. Very happy with Dbd.
i played the mode yesterday only as survivor and it was surprisingly fun as well. knowing that when u juice up a killer for a bit that is a massive treat for your team and frustrating only when both killers gang up on you.
The shallowness of 2v8 compared to main mode + the atrocious killer queues (that also impact 1v4 ones) make me think that this mode will cause more harm than good at long term.
Adding special abilities for survivor would definitely help the queue times. One class gets a toggle to slug crawl, one class gets old deadhard that injures them, just fun silly shit to make survivor gameplay unique too
Survivor needs to be more fun in the mode, needs something added to it so the player count is more spread
It's because there's no pick up/hook factor. Have you watched modded 2v8 gameplay?
I mean a really rudimentary fix for the queue times is for a pity system on killer where after two minutes or some amount of time you get added to survivor queue as well and after getting a game or two of survivor you get increased status where you get next killer game available, im sure people wouldnt be super happy getting survivor matches but it will add players to the survivor pool as well as you will probably end up getting a killer match at around the same timeframes anyways
Solutions:
Make it custom game avail number one, my friends are all on standby to buy it JUST for 2v8 with the boys
Allow you to queue for survivor and reserve your slot in killer if a match is ready so you don’t sit there for a full episode of a tv show to play the game listening to huntress breathing
I can understand why they limited the killer selection for now. Some killer combinations would be a complete cluster fuck.
It's was too small for 2 killers ofc but well, that was not a very big deal
2) Hits even worse then in regular game.
