I love Audi’s. The first car I’ve ever bought was a Audi at the age of 18. Lived and learned to maintain (drain my bank account) and enjoyed every moment. I’ve owned two more in my lifetime. Currently have a 2013 A5. Looking forward to my next purchase in two years

Here in North America, we still get the V6 petrol with 350 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque for the S4. I'd still get the B9 version though.

Yeah why Europe doesn’t have a V6 petrol variant is beyond me. But we are jealous you guys get some of the bells and whistles we still don’t get over here in the US, like the real _full functioning_ LED Matrix headlights, auto parking pilot, etc.

paralelmind - Yep it sure isn’t. The US NHTSA puts a lot of safety restrictions on the vehicles, including banning the use of these _ Full functioning_ LED Matrix headlights. Unlike EU, the US only has the LED Matrix- *_design_* headlights- meaning, the light housing looks the same, but all we get are the auto on/off High beams (not the true Matrix LEDs).
With the true LED matrix functionality, the high beams are always on, but it automatically blacks out individual sections for cars in front and oncoming traffic (see this link for demonstration - ua-cam.com/video/hDJi240E_ZA/v-deo.html)

I'm still fighting hard to finding anything to like about them. They look like puppy eyes and don't fit a car like Audi at all. But I'm trying hard to like them ha! B9 headlights will be hard to beat.
had a 2018 S4 and loved the silky smooth V6, this has less power than a golf R. Not impressed. Audi should have allowed the 2020 S4 V6 continue to sell in the UK

I really like what Audi did with the rear lights but I cannot say that about the front lights. I liked the pre facelift better. Also the lack of the mmi wheel is a big nope for me.

What does b8 means
@@19coldfire it's a generation code. B8 refers to the generation of Audi's 4 series cars produced from 2008 ish to 2012 ish, b8.5 refers to the facelifted version of that generation.

Meh, I greatly prefer my B9 (2018, US version) to my B8.5 (2014).
It feels lighter and more excited to get up and go.
The transmission is better (DSG vs ZF) and smoother.
The suspension isn't nearly as harsh (both fixed suspension).
Obviously better nav/infotainment system.
No driveline bind when navigating tight corners at low speeds.

I love the “real exhaust openings on both sides” statement at 1:04 min. It’s such a shame to see Audi and other manufacturers to install fake exhaust opening on even S models! Like the SQ5...
Diesel:s often have fake exhaust, 45 TFSI is a petrol engine.

I have the Same engine in an A5 2door Competition plus. Its really really good... but not exciting... or engaging. Its fast but not rapid, it handles Well without being on edge ...

Own a 2008 a3 8pa 3.2L and on it’s good days it could smash this, i paid 9k when i bought it but they are valued around 6-9k now. Good entry into the audi family with exceptional performance for the price. Only problem is slightly less tunability because it’s naturally aspirated.
The B9 S4 is/was a fantastic car with more ticks than boxes. It's replacement - diesel + fake exhausts...WTF. I'd have this 45TFSI over the new S4 any day.

I definitely wouldn't take this over the S4 TDI, but I really like it nevertheless. I am considering to buy this generation of the A4, actually. It will be either an A4 with many extras or an A6 C8 with only the basics. I love the A6, but it's really expensive.

Nobody knows, I have exactly this car. 45 tfsi limo Turbo Blue with black accents. First thing I changed where the Audi rings they are black now front and back but still it hurts my eyes to see the chrome strip in the backlights besides the black strip on the trunk it’s just a fucking design desaster.

I have this car, same spec and color. It is amazing. I also have a Golf R, and this feels just as quick but a lot nicer;) I deleted BOTH resonators and she farts nice and juicy!

Why the 45? Reminds me of the Mercedes A45. Should have just made it a S-Line. The S-Line should have always came with a small bump in power over the regular A4.
S-Line has nothing, and has never had anything with power increase. Just as M-Pack, it is just a styling package. Don't confuse the A4 S-line with an S4.

In every other test facelifted a4 45tfsi got 6,5s 0-100kmh, why VAG got chip tunnig tests cars?
Ther is no way on earth that it does 6.5 seconds. Maybe uphills with 4 people!
Test after test with a VBox it does 5.7-5.8 seconds any time.
This turbo blue A4 is much nicer than the S4 diesel. I never liked S line trim though. At least is not as bad as all the fake M cars running around.

Yes of course, you can see it in the video, and it's also written.
1. Hold the ESP button for a few seconds
2. Put into dynamic and S
3. Break hard with left foot, floor the gas pedal with right and let the rev go up and it will hold itself in a certain rpm
4. Release the break and off you go.
Auditography there are some sign, text, or light which indicates that the launch control is active?
No sign or text showing it is active. The RPM rises to 2800 and stays there till you release the brake (it falls after 5s if you don’t do anything I believe).

Audi A4 B9 2.0 TFSI quattro is 252hp and 5,1sec to 100km/h, just sayin
It is a pity that Audi didn't add the 3.0 V6 engine as an option to A4's after switching to TDI in the S4. It would be a way to complete the void generated by the S4's TDI for those that are more fond of the petrol V6.
For example you can choose a petrol V6 in the A6 instead of a TDI S6.
Do you feel any difference vs the pre-facelift 252hp versions?
Also do you know if 13hp power bump in 40-45 TFSI engines for 2021 model year will be available for Europe?
No, hardly any different is felt on those 7hp the OPF took away.
Second question is hard to answer, since EU is changing the laws all the time and automakers have to adapt to that. We'll see!

Your 35TFSI doesnt have the dynamic led lighting. It's smaller engine and smaller pack than this top of the line one. But beauty it is. Congrats

LED headlights are close to the colour of daylight, dynamic indicators use a fluid motion and LED daytime-running lights use white light for visibility.

No, but we can talk about this: When I got the car it had horrible small ugly wheels. Audi told me "we got beautiful performance wheels we could put on this but the centre caps are missing". I said "no problem. Filming and shooting it without a small thing as center caps, is billion times better then these ugly baloon wheels."

This engine works must better in the A5 than it does in the A4. The chassis in the standard A4 can't cope with the engine revving harder other than in a straight line.

This engine pushed hard can drink a lot and even more than 2.9 petrol. On the long run ways the diesel is more economical and has better torque but lacks of soul...

This is just a facelift. It's too expensive for a automaker to fully redesign an interior for just a facelift. A brand new interior that looks like the A6,7,8 etc, will come with the B10 platform in 2022.

Why is Audi continuing with the old dashboard for A4 and A5 instead of the much better-looking dash of A6, A7, and A8...heck even A3 has the new one.
This is just a facelift. They can't make a whole new interior just for a facelift. It will come with the B10 generation in 2022.

That's simply because Hyndai copied (as they always do) Audis design in the first place from the 2nd gen A5. Nothing new.
Auditography Not quite so... Audi’s head engineer from the B8 generation now works for Hyundai... so does BMW’s head engineer from the E92 gen (same year)... notice Hyundai’s are slowly getting faster?
