People use Olaplex wrong hence all the issues. It's not meant to be used weekly, especially if your hair is in good condition. It's meant to be used on color treated and damaged hair. So using it too much on healthy hair can do the opposite and make it dry. I use it on myself when I color my hair and also my clients with no issues. And I use it once a month on a client who suffers from thyroid issues and is on meds that affects her hair. It helps to give it a little bit of strength and her shedding has definitely decreased since implementing it into her routine. If used correctly it can be effective.
Curl smith bond salve - and bond repair Sally’s brand (cheaper) are also great options. I thought I had to cut the damage…now I will trim as it grows!!! Great video
Hihi Beautiful lady. Just wanted to say hello. Hope you are well. Miss your videos. Hoping your hair is recovering well. Im curuous to know how you and your hair are doing. I am dealing with a setback after an 8 year natural hair journey. Was rewatchibg your videos. They are so inspirational and soothing. Hope u will be back soon and if not God Bless and as a committed follower your videos are the best out there. You have talent and a wonderful presence here on youtube.❤
I am weary of these demonizing ingredient claims a lot of people have. They rather listen marketing then actual science. When they cite science they cherry pick through the SDS reports and weave their own story to suit their needs. Which is fear, attention and ultimately money. There are businesses and channels dedicated to propagating and sustain fear. Even the people who all of a sudden sue companies. Which more often is user error, allergies, something else going on internally or greedy. It spreads like wildfire too. I _loathe_ people who sue frivolously. I could go on but I’ll spare people my crankiness today.
I feel the same way, and it’s unfortunate with the viral social media platforms how misinformation and fear mongering spreads like wildfire. And it can completely ruin a company’s reputation and make it near impossible to get back on their feet. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, I’m glad I’m not the only one with these frustrations
My hair loves sulfate and silicones. I fell for the hype of no poo/Deva and I was going bald after 7 years doing it. Left it behind and my hair is mostly back.
I always thought if you're super sensitive, you should test things before using the products. Our bodies change just about every day. We don't know when our bodies would reject things.
I love Olaplex. I use #3, 6, 4, 5 and the clarifying shampoo and the tinted shampoo. The bond perfector was a game changer for my hair; I use it about once every 4 to 6 weeks and I don't use #0 as I did the first couple times because my hair isn't damaged. They sell an 8 ounce #3 a couple times of year, I think.
Your hair was already damaged. I found your channel because I’m looking to remove henna and use Olaplex, so I can stop the breakage that is going on in my hair.
Just discovered your channel today and love it! You seem so sweet and have such a soothing vibe. Please keep making more content! It doesn't have to be about hair!
Update - K18 usage after shampoo - 4mins then Deep condition 15mins heat - rinse, style - my curls are back - my dry time is reduced - as my curls are healthier. No need to pre-poo with curl smith bond saulve - just straight to shampoo n condition -
Hi beautiful, how are you doing? I am thinking of you and your lovely content which is so helpful, detailed, and edited wonderfully. I appreciate your effort helping me and so many people with knowledge about hair care esp curly. I hope to hear from you soon. Whichever way you want to take this channel, I will be here to support you and watching❤
Im so confused! I just used No 3 for the first time and I actually followed the directions on the bottle but to hear different application instructions than what the bottle says is problematic. Olaplex should at least update their application instructons.
This is the reason why I haven’t tried it because of what ppl said about it but I feel like they do it wrong or they either leave it in their hair like if it’s leave in conditioner and it’s not and not only that it’s expensive but I just ordered no 3 and I can’t wait to use it and see the results
Not me sitting here with sciatica wishing I could wash my hair like this! And that baby! Do you foster or is this your new kitten? Joke aside, this has solidified even more my decision to start using Olaplex. I really want to get to waist length and I keep having to cut because of crown breakage. Thanks again for another amazing video!
It wasn’t very comfortable to wash my hair like that haha it’s just so much cleaner than filming in the shower. Little Doug is the newest member of our family! We finally got Mochi a friend 🐱 I’m so sorry you’re having issues with crown breakage. I hope you find a solution soon! Best of luck ♥️
Olaplex #3 works just fine for me. If people are allergic to a product they should just avoid using it. so glad you discussed the fear-mongering surrounding this product.
I use Olaplex once a month. It works really good for my hair. I wouldn't use every week because its a bond treatment sort of like a protein treatment to repair. I believe people hair was breaking because they were using it too frequently. Great video.
The problem with your analogy is that most people allergic to peanuts know it. Why would the general public *know* if they were allergic to this fragrance to ignore it? And surely olaplex must have known that, in your words, this fragrance has an affinity of making some prone allergies over time and what the side effects of that would be. So, them not issuing a warning or just not using it at all is the problem. But considering other popular products in the US use this fragrance, even if it was a contributor, I doubt it's the *only* reason so many women who used the products have the side effects that they do, as you seem to claim.
Hi, I’m not “claiming” anything in regards to Olaplex safety. I am not an expert in this field and I do not know what it is to be “true”. I’m just sharing why I’m personally comfortable using the product. When it comes to US regulation over how to label cosmetic ingredients I am not the one to ask about it. However I do recommend watching Dr. Dray (one of her videos listed in pinned comment) she is a board certified dermatologist and has a lot of valuable information about fragrance ingredients, allergic contact dermatitis and the many many products and ingredients that can cause it (including essential oils). she also has lots of information about cosmetic safety and regulation. She is one resource I trust when it comes to questions on product safety. Also, Abbey Young has a video talking about the Olaplex lawsuit where she goes into their safety and sensitivity testing as well you may find interesting. Personally, unless I begin to feel that Olaplex is causing me irritation, I have no issues using it. However if it causes you irritation it’s definitely best to discontinue use. There’s many products on the market that I personally just cannot use because they make my scalp itch like no other (Herbal Essences is the first one that comes to mind) and I just know to avoid using it. Something in their products irritates me, but hundreds of thousands of people can use it with no issues. with Olaplex, there’s very little grounds in the lawsuit to convince me right now that Olaplex is unsafe for me to use, especially because I have not had any negative effects so far (I’ve used the product 4 times) sure this may change in the future, but for now I am comfortable using it. But please, do your own research and come to your own conclusions if you are comfortable using Olaplex or not.
🎉geez I just bought it and my hair was breaking like crazy so I wonder if I should continue let me know as soon as you suggested it I bought it 100$ later oh dear thanks sis let me know ❤
Did the olaplex make your hair break? I wonder if you are shampooing it out thoroughly? I have also heard some stylists recommend to do a moisturizing deep conditioner after you shampoo it out. Maybe that could help? Otherwise if it continues to break then it’s probably best to stop using
Please stop using henna, as much as it feels nice, scientifically it is a permanent protein treatment, meaning your hair can slowly become so low porosity that it starts break your hair strands and may cause shaft disorders :(
Yes I only used no. 3. Most stylists say that’s the only one worth your money if you’re looking for bond repair 👩🔧. I may try others in the line in the far future but I don’t see a need for that as of now.
Hi Friends, For everyone who hates long intros, the routine starts at 3:00
Thanks for watching

Yep. Suddenly everyone was using Olaplex. I only started using it after I dyed my hair.
Curl smith bond salve - and bond repair Sally’s brand (cheaper) are also great options. I thought I had to cut the damage…now I will trim as it grows!!! Great video

Hey girl I hope you’re doing ok it’s been long time since last time you posted
I recommend you using the curl smith bond builder as well! You see results after just one use 😊

Thank you for doing this video. I was considering getting the No. 8. I will try the number 3 instead.
I’ve heard good things about no. 8 however for bond repair no. 3 is best!

Thanks for mentioning the ingredient
Lilial is also in Eco styler gel
Im so confused! I just used No 3 for the first time and I actually followed the directions on the bottle but to hear different application instructions than what the bottle says is problematic. Olaplex should at least update their application instructons.
Looking at the pictures from the lawsuit, it seems to be in the areas where people tend to forget to rinse properly.
Love the video. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the topic. Well what a crazy different. What a crazy difference.

I miss you sis ❤
Its so nice when you find something that works❤
I have used olaplex and I just recently used K18 and I have to say I like k18 better. Maybe give it a try
K18 did nothing for my hair but olaplex no 3 is magic for it
Hi do you have an update of how it’s going repairing your ends?
Olaplex #3 works just fine for me. If people are allergic to a product they should just avoid using it. so glad you discussed the fear-mongering surrounding this product.

Yay! Glad it worked for you!! ❤
So it is a protien treatment right?
Olaplex is a bond builder, there is no protein in the formula.
@@VyalaBloom ooh good
Thank you🤗

Kitten!!!! 🥰🥰
Where are you.🥺
Can olaplex work on henna hair?
Yes!
@@VyalaBloomThanks, was asking around about using it on henna hair, but like you said what may work for one may cause another issues😏
Guess I should have washed my hair soon
