Elder Sing was my first modern board game, but it's ages since I played for last time.This video made me remember the great time I spent playing to it.
Elder signs is definitely on my wishlist thanks to this video

This was super easy to follow, unlike most playthrough videos of board games. I just ordered my Omens of Pharaoh so I'm stoked to receive it and play it with my group. Thanks for the great video!
This expansion looks really cool. And I think that when I previously owned the base game, I tried playing it mostly with others, but it definitely seems like solo is the way to go. Thanks for the playthrough!
Yeah my favorite expansion is Gates of Arkham, really amps up the difficulty in a good way

Love this game. I don't own it, but my friend does and it's always a fun time when we break it out. Really hard game.
It can be very swingy!
This expansion adds a lot of cool stuff. Choosing when to move to Act 2 adds some interested choices, and ditto with the mythos cards giving a choice rather than both required immediate and delayed effects.

absolutely FANTASTIC board game!
I am amazed by the design, it's perfect!!! Or at least as perfect as it possibly can be.
It captures the excitement from Arkham horror and eldritch horror but in a more simple straight forward way. There are so many awesome mechanics that just click, without getting too complicated. Setup and cleanup are all real fast.
What is needed to make this game as good as it can be is one of the modules expansions. Streets of arkham will always be my favorite but the omens of pharaoh is my 2nd favorite! The relic cards are so much fun!
NOTE!
You might know this and play with the gates of arkham because you feel like it, but it's not intended. In case anyone read and don't understand, notice the little "!" icon on the bottom monster at 15:46, that means that that particular game piece is only supposed to be used when playing with the gates of arkham expansion. It's not intended to be used with any other game expansion, like this one, omens of the pharaoh for example.
Several game pieces are only meant to be used with a certain expansion.
Ofc you CAN combine them if you like to, but if you use the components they might be useless, if a item card show up that refers to mechanics that are only found in that expansion for example :)

If I recall correctly (my copy is on lone) you don't resolve the midnight effect right away if it hits mid turn. I think you finish out the action, advance the clock, and then trigger the midnight effects.
Huh I do not have mine on hand either, but that would make sense! Granted it is past midnight then so it feels funny. I will look this up!
For some strange reason I love dice-chuckers and Elder Signs has moved up to one of my favorites. I really need to get the expansions as they seem to actually expand the game instead of convoluting it.

Interesting to see this. I've played plenty of Elder Sign, but only the base. With your dice rolling luck I'm surprised you didn't beat this in the first round. 😉 Need to roll 3x unique symbols? No problem, Colin will do it twice.

Out of all the expansions to me this seems the most interesting. I have only played the game 4-5 times and lost miserably every time so I do not know if I will be buying any more expansions. I do not mind randomness and dice rolls in games but in this one it is a tad too much.

Great video as usual. Never tried Elder Sign, but can't figure out if I need this when I enjoy Arkham Horror so much. How do you like Elder Sign compared to Arkham Horror tcg Colin?
No comparison. The lcg blows this out of the water. The only thing this has over the lcg is the cheaper factor. Hardly a story, minimal surprises etc. But if you want to chuck dice this is a good one!

I’ve always enjoyed this game, just have the base game however. I’ve heard the expansions really add a lot.
I really liked what the gates of arkham added. It made it more difficult, I think, but also way more thematic.
I have Elder Signs, but was a bit unmotivated to play the game as I do not have any expansions. You may have just sparked my interest once again. I don't know how you do it. Should change your channel name to "The Wallet Breaker".

Combining Gates of Arkham and Unseen Forces is a great start. Gates has (gates/portals) and Unseen has the cursed/blessed dice mechanic. The Adventure card or Mythos card will tell you when to add the special die or gates.
The "Unforseen" expansion? I mean, I guess it still has the same idea of "Unseen Forces" XD

23:52 This is a five year old video so i don't know why I'm commenting this but unless the expansion changes something in a way I'm not aware of this whole section with resolving midnight before claiming the card is incorrect. Midnight only happens in the clock phase which is after you finish your turn as far as I'm aware so the midnight effect on the card should not have triggered.
And the trophy should have been discarded

I do not think you were playing that terror effect right. It is not logical to do it like that. The way I read it I thought that it only counts when one green die is LOCKED somewhere - or maybe even that you should just roll with three dice in your example, which sounds unlikely as these games never reward you like that lol.
I think Colin is right. Locked is not the same as removed. I agree its confusing to have a positive effect on a terror condition but unless there is a faq to clarify this I would play the same way as Colin did.
But that way it is basically just a re-roll? Now, I know FFG likes to sometimes complicate things on their explanations but still, they could have just called it a re-roll unless I am missing something.
It is crazy, but based on how I read it, I did this correctly!! Weird card if you ask me. . .
I have played Dragonfire and it has a enemy that will actually help you out, if you fail your “save”, so it does make sense.
