When first hearing this song I was going to skip it. But then I listened to the words and realized that is was a song about drugs and how they might ease the pain, they will never truly get rid of it. I am sorry for your loss Amanda and I hope this song made your father proud looking down.

I just want to let you know that the first time I heard your band was the live/acoustic version of heroin. And the way you infused the song with pure emotion with your voice completely moved me.
When a song is powerful enough to make me stop everything I am doing and just watch in awe and feeling taken in with emotion, I know it is something very special. And when I found out the reason why was because the song was about your father, everything made sense.

Your story is one of true inspiration and strength and one I can relate to. One as a recovering addict of 13 years this hot home for me and made me feel so greatful inside for all the times I could have overdosed and didn't and was able to find music as my new addition. Also it hit home for me because I've had friends in recovery who were not as fortunate and I have lost them in the past several to last couple years and for them I must live on. I am so glad you shared your story and were able to write a song about it. That takes incredible strength. You Rock Amanda.

Great song, sorry it had to happen, I'm a addict for over a decade, struggling, most of my friends are no longer here, my friend danny only 19 yo died the day his daughter was born, they never laid eyes on one another, I had to be brought back w Narcan, sometimes I wish I just died, I was doing great and slipped & have a habit, horrific downward spiral, I thought I had it beat, gotta try again, to my friends that are no longer with us ::: Danny, Amber, Jessica, Dawne, Jennifer, Robin, Mikey & Beautiful blonde Kristen just passed only a month ago ....rest in peace,miss you all..

I've nearly lost my son to heroin and fentanyl more than once.
I sleep a little better at night now since I've put it in God's hands, but it's such a hurtful ordeal.
All I can do is keep him in prayers and be there for him when he is ready for help to get better.....
This time last year he called me to come get him one afternoon when I hadn't heard from him in weeks. He was pushing a shopping cart full of his things in a heavy rain. He was at least 40 pounds light of his normal weight. The memory of him approaching me that rainy day haunts my sleep.....
