Every Year in June we fish at Mary, but not this year due to the snow. Thinking of going in July instead and hopefully the snow are melted by then. But Twin Lakes in Bridgeport was the hot spot for us this year. Me and my 13yr old Daughter caught 24 trout in 3days

    • @ExploreNaturesCatch

Hopefully they don't have another huge snow storm like they had this past year. It really did make fishing difficult in the beginning of the season. Glad you and your daughter did great out there. How old was she when she reeled in her first fish? Im trying to prepare Amelia to reel one in. I bought her a small 3ft pole, she just needs more practice using the reel. If i end up going up one last time ill stop by twin lakes in Bridgeport. We like eating at the restaurant in mono village. Did you fish Upper twin or lower?

@@ExploreNaturesCatch my daughter was 5 when she reeled in her first fish. Around 9yrs old is when she started tying her own knot. Rhinos Bar and Grill has good food in Bridgeport. We normally fish Upper Twins but I’ve limited out at Robinson creek with mini jigs i bought from you.

Hi my friend, incredible as always, do you know when that guy caught that 19 lber? Unbelievable, that restaurant at silver lake has old pictures on the wall from the early 1900's the fish were huge in those photos, June loop has had a reputation for huge fish back in the day, jacks waffle house in bishop most of the fish on the walls are from June loop, you guys always Grind out!! Looks delicious tri tip rocks, that was a huge bear, saw lots of them up there, I always carried while fishing, in the state of California it's legal to carry a firearm while fishing, family is looking beautiful as always my friend, appreciate your channel it's great 👍🇺🇸🙏🎣🎣🌲🏔️

Thanks for watching. That big brown was caught back in 2020. There was a 22lb 10oz brown caught at upper twin in Bridgeport recently. That must have been an exciting fight. I was just thinking about getting everything set up to carry as well. I need to take a class at turners to get it all going. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Always appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment on the videos. Hope all is well with you and your family. See you out on the water! 🎣

Looks like your daughter is ready. I remember starting out both my kids on the Micky pole. They had the most luck. Have you thought about some type of camper/campervan? Much easier to get out there and stay out longer with little ones.

I just bought her a 3ft dock demon pole. On the next trip I’ll try and have her reel one in. I actually was heavily looking into a camper. That would be really convenient being out at the lake. Like you said, would be able to fish a little longer too.

You should try rock creek lake by the restaurant side, left side of lot. Fish of the big rocks with sliding weight and a 4-5 foot leader. Cast out as far as you can using an inflated crawler. Then continue past rock creek lake and hike up a bit. You will find all kinds of trout including goldens.

Not much of a secret spot now, but we consistently catch at least 50 trout a day in that spot. One time no one else was catching jack and we couldn’t stop. It gets boring honestly.

Great to see you and your family and friends having fun up there, Cary. Reminds me of my kids on fishing trips to the same places, 40 years ago. My son and I are going up on an overnighter fishing trip to Bishop area this weekend. We'll try fishing the valley, the sand traps, Bishop Canal and Big Pine Canal, and the Lower Owens. We've never done a whole trip just fishing the lowlands. Might take a quick drive up the mountain on Sunday to see the fall colors, before heading home. I want to get a rack of ribs from Copper Top BBQ in Big Pine on the way home. Hoping to catch a few fish to freeze and have for dinner this winter. Won't be long before Amelia will be fishing with you guys, and you can go more often!

Thanks for watching! That sounds like it's going to be a fun trip. Let us know how it goes. We are thinking about going up one last time before the season ends. I've always wanted to try copper top but we always head up early in the morning to mammoth and they aren't open yet. Fall colors are always amazing out there. I've been seeing a lot of recent pictures from out there and it makes me want to go. Amelia is almost ready to reel in that fish. I bought her a small 3ft rod and slowly showing her how to reel in. Hopefully she brings in her first fish soon! Good luck on your trip and safe travels!

We've never tried Copper Top either, always drove past it going both ways. They were declared the best BBQ restaurant in the US in 2016 by Yelp, so now, we gotta try them.@@ExploreNaturesCatchWhen I was three years old, my dad bought me a three foot fishing rod at Thrifty Drug Store and took me to fish at the East Fork of the San Gabriel River. He baited my hook and had me dip the bait in the stream behind a big rock, and a trout dashed out and bit the salmon eggs, hooking itself. I got scared, dropped the rod, and ran away, so dad had to land the trout, ha ha. My introduction to trout fishing. I had walked all the way down to the river with him, but he had to carry me out when it was time to go. He did that for the next two years, several times, until I got strong enough to do my own walking uphill.

Hi Cary, we fished George Creek Sand trap; Big Pine Creek Canal and got zero bites. Couldn't get to the Lone Pine Sand Trap because they are doing road construction there. We caught two limits of rainbows and browns at the Bishop Creek Canal fishing two hours Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. Lots of fishermen there and heavy pressure on the fish, but they were biting on night crawlers. No bites on jigs, minnows or Trout Magnets. Lots of fun. Copper Top BBQ was very good. Had their pulled pork sandwiches for lunch, and brought home a vacuum sealed rack of BBQ ribs and a pound of BBQ tri tip, also delicious. Copper Top is very busy but worth a stop on the way home, since you can get the vacuum packed meats already cooked.@@ExploreNaturesCatch
