Nice to see you using the Lamello Zeta P2. I debated whether it's just an overpriced gizmo. I've concluded that it is a very useful tool and I really like it. I've heard you say that when you like something, you tend to forget what you paid for it...when you wasted your money, you never forget how much it cost! I'm the same way. I can't really remember what I paid for my Lamello so it must be worth it. Thanks for the videos Steve.
Hi Derek. One of my favorite quotes is from John Ruskin: "It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money - that's all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot - it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better." I don't remember exactly what I paid for the Lamello but it was not insignificant at the time and it has been worth every penny to me. Steve
I haven't been dabbling with wood too long but, when I do have something I would like to revisit letting time pass seems to be the way to go if the option is there. Sometimes you have to let 39 years pass. As usual I learned some things here. Flipping the feet on the pocket hole jig being one and I see ways to use the routing jig you made elsewhere.
Thank you William. I even learned a few things doing this. I was not absolutely sure I could assemble the Lamello Clamex into a corner but thought it might so went ahead and made the cuts anyway. I ended up rocking the gusset into position which was the trick to get it together. I did have an alternate plan just in case. Steve
Steve, I always love your videos! The things you learn! I am sure the progress with glue quality in 39 years is pretty significant too! You also busted out an old reliable PC router! BTW - When did you acquire the Kundig Uniq? That machine is on my short list! What do you think about it? I really liked it in Joe's shop.
Thank you PK. I have had the Uniq since 2010. Overall, it is an excellent machine and I have only 2 gripes about it. First, it is grossly overpriced for what it is. It would be a much better value if you can find a used one. Second, the rubber sleeves for the spindle sander are very difficult to get on and off. I have found that baby powder improves the situation somewhat but this should be a much better system for a machine in this price range. The spiral bands are also metric and are difficult to source in the US. I have found the 1" spiral band works as a suitable replacement for the 25mm version but all other sizes haven't worked. Steve
@@extremewoodworker I was also looking at the Rehnen SK-2 that is much more affordable. It does not offer a tilting function, bur seems to be a really nice machine.

@@pkwoodworking In 13 years of use, I have only used the tilting function a handful of times at most.
Looks like you made a few mistakes fixing your mistakes...
