@@PopalongRC sounds like your rules weren’t nailed down tightly enough. Should have specified to be built as per manual, no modifications or changes, and using nothing but what was supplied in the box except a servo and paint 😅
Its just great to see all of you guys have huge fun with the hobby! And this is the main reason - to put a smile on your face 😊! Thanks for sharing your passion with us 🙏
Genuinely funny vid that one. Anywhere when you get people competing there is always going to be bending of the rules, skating as close as you can to the limit.
Like i said to Talbot and TomleyRC, For the next UA-camr race, you guys should take a road or rally car from HSP/Redcat/Exceed, way over power it, and see who can make it last the longest. Most laps wins.
When I raced at event's I would walk the pits and see all the "modifications" made to go faster or corner harder or walk on water. But in the end it was the guys who had driving skills with clean lines that always came out on top. And that's why you two and Vinny won.
I remember folk buying 10+ Tamiya silver can motors, running them on the dyno and selling off the worst of them. And other folk re-canning the motors after fettling the innerds. Granted, I used to run a fan before fans were 'cool' and also use freeze spray to cool the motor significantly before a run. Oh, and use 'comm drops'. Everyone looked for their own way to bend rules and get an advantage which made it interesting at times. Sadly our Tamiya class went from being TA04's and TL01's to TB evo's and TRFs as some people threw as much money at it to gain advantages. Pretty much killed the Tamiya class sadly.
I think you guys should have a re-race, with everyone's car being setup with the basics of at least endpoint limits, so the cars are a bit more drivable. It was fun to see that illegal upgrades don't really help, if you don't know what you're doing. Obviously a locked front diff would be a massive advantage if you knew what you're doing, but luckily RCkicks kicked himself in the leg with increasing the steering making his car even harder to control and making his dogbones pop out. I think it might've been a fair thing to go through a few of the basics setups before the race, as it would probably have been a bit more of a fair race, instead of watching everyone without touring car knowledge basically stepping into the same setup cowpot at once. I recall starting out myself, my tt01 truck was basically not drivable, because I had full steering, and the truck specific front tirewall glueing wasnt done, so it just fell over in fast corners, and made too agressive turns, either falling over, scrubbing or just doing too big lunges when turning. I think racing is the natural progression of going into the RC hobby, because for lots of people, you drive that basher in your backyard for 10 mins, a couple of times, and then you're bored out of you mind. Racing gets you into a different space, where you can compete with others, and yourself, and improvement is something you can visibly see. Anyway, cheers for doing what you guys do, you deserve a lot more views but sadly RC racing is a tricky thing to promote, as its one of those events that are fun to drive in, but not particularly vivid to spectate, as its just a blur of colored boxes going around without a clue of whos leading etc etc.
@@PopalongRC or maybe you all build a chassis, number them and then a 3rd party picks numbers and you get that chassis to drive... You turn up, get your assigned chassis, add radio and control batteries and off you go.
What a bunch of Benders!! (that's new terminology for us Americans). -- How about you do a RTR challenge. Everybody brings a sealed box of a specific model, they just get to choose color. Somebody else is responsible for buying all the batteries and charging all of them. -- So ... everyone opens the box, puts car and remote batteries in, then 1 hour group practice. Then race!!! No bending at all.
It annoyed me that Talbot was the only one without an Audi body. And as far as I know the porsche is on a short wheel base. that is a big advantage on a short indoor course. Never the less you guys where on the podium *thumbs up* Greetz Dennis.
A bunch of benders eh?🤣🤣 Seriously though, despite the 'rules amendments' that some people were running with it made no difference, Vinny beat you all fair and square. It was a fun video, as was this one, keep it up guys!!
Showing up to race a 2s class on 3s is ridiculous. People try to sneak in 6s buggies in 4s class in my area, and they are the biggest hack drivers too.
I really enjoyed this video. I had never heard the term benders as it relates to cheating with r/c car rules, but it's perfect. Here in the states we would call these person cheaters or other words which I won't use. I guess Kevin and Gavin were so desperate for more attention they cheated. Kevin definitely was the biggest cheater. Why have rules? Congrats to Vinnie for great driving and to the racers who didn't bend the rules.
I hope this is just a poke for fun. The thing I have been liking on the channels I subscribe to, is the comradery and support for each other. There's enough competitiveness and pettiness in the world as it is. I certainly don't like seeing so many of the channels I usually like thinking they can abuse the rules. I'm really surprised the competition wasn't made simple: just use current IFMAR/ROAR rules and that can almost eliminate cheating except in actual cases of cheating, but that would be for the location judges to enforce. Luckily, I don't care who won, and i would like to see more of the multichannel meets, but you have to have enforceable rules, otherwise you will get fueds.
Well at least one of you was a moral victor then😉good fun though I’m sure, watching vids I was only surprised Mr Talbot didn’t turn up with 1/8 brushless buggy🙂

haha you benders 👀😂. A 7.6v HV battery usually has a higher internal resistance than a 7.4v battery so assuming they are both charged to 8.4v actually has less punch. A shorty can improve the handling though 😛. Gav probably made his car worse with his mods 🤦😂
