I upgraded from X-T4 to X-T5. I feel there is a huge difference. More resolution and substantial autofocus speed improvement. Add to this the 3 way tilt screen and I can say I am 100% convinced upgrading was the right choice
@@FujiRumorsOfficial Never a bad idea to upgrade. :) But at the time, there were some negatives about the XT-5 in some reviews that made my decision. 1) Despite the difference in sensors and 'resolution': The X-T5 and X-T4 image quality were very similar. The tests I saw bore that out. 2) Most importantly for me, was that eye tracking needed to be on par with Sony and Cannon. Sadly, the XT-5 is still WAY behind. Once that was known to me, I couldn't see upgrading just yet. 3) My other wish is that FUJI make it 'Netflix Compatible'. Although the video for the 4/5 are 4K they fall short. @@FujiRumorsOfficial Thanks Patrick! I know that’s the most popular question these days. We really need some solid details on the timeline and some key features. Appreciate everything you do for the Fuji community!
Plenty of room for improvement for the X-T5. The AF is still way behind the better competitors. The buffer is ridiculously small. The EVF is not as good as X-H2. And so on...
@@vintageflanker7096 ahh you’re spot on, on all of those. Haven’t shot digital in a while so whenever I pick up my Fuji everything feels so much faster that I couldn’t think of what more a person could want
I don't think that there will be another X-Tx camera in 2024. Several reasons : each time an X-T camera was released, it was because there was a new sensor and processor available (exception made of the X-T4), and there isn't any signs of Fujifilm moving from the 5th gen processor and sensor yet. Matter of fact, they still haven't refreshed their full lineup of cameras yet, the only "lower budget" option with the 5th gen processor is the X-S20 which is more of a mid range camera now. Time between releases is vastly irrelevant. And even if it was, the only thing that Fujifilm could do the X-T line right now would be a refresh of the camera with the same specs. That already happened with the X-T4, but that camera is a really odd one in the whole X-T lineup (I highly suspect that it was supposed to be the X-H2, but that it was quickly switched into an X-T camera after the X-H1 flopped horribly. That would explain the weird viewfinder housing compared to other models, fully articulable screen and the fact that it's internally identical (minus the IBIS ofc) to the X-T3. My guess is that the X-T4 was supposed to be to the X-T3 what the X-H1 was to the X-T2). So even if they wanted to make a refresh, they probably couldn't really do much and that would be seen as a spit in the face for X-T5 users to release an X-T6 that is so similar. In my opinion, the X-T5 is already good enough as it is, other lines need attention from Fujifilm right now (X100, X-Pro, X-E, X-Tx0)
IIRC, Fuji have released or announced 5 cameras since 2022, 4 of which have been PASM (X-H2, X-H2S, X-S20, GFX 100 II) and the other being the X-T5. I don't care that we're not getting an X-T6, I just want literally any product line confirmed to be still alive with the retro dials. They're getting so much buzz and word of mouth for those retro designs, yet haven't released any updates or provided announcements for the X-E, X-Pro, or X-Txx lines. Instead, they're doing the coy, "Will we, won't we? We're gonna be like Apple with our announcements" thing, which tends to not work out for companies in 4th place of niche industries.
