So glad you covered this game. My mother bought me this on ps2 when i was a teen, i had told her i wouldve liked to try a FPS game on the console and we didnt have the most money. Brothers in Arms' Road to Hill 30 story intro still lives in my head rent-free. Growing up, i later played the rest of the franchise.
I got to stick up for Full Spectrum Warrior here. Got it from a friend who HATED it and said I could keep it after I beat it. It feels clunky and stupid at first until you get the concept. I ended up beating the crap out of it about a dozen times. I joined the Army in 2010 and found myself as a team and later section leader controlling multiple teams- the same way that game is set up. I have to say- its fairly realistic. You have your guys shoot at a general target and try to stop them from burning ammo to do it. You typically outnumber your enemy but you move in a cumbersome and logical way. A single casualty will make you less combat effective. You can't spam grenades or call artillery 99% of the time. Its down to your choices and your movement. After a fight you need to basically count up the total percentage of ammo and water remaining in your squad, team or section and figure out what you can do with it- just like FSW. Man, that game. I gotta play that again. You sold me on this game. Looks solid and flew under my radar. As a former Screaming Eagle you had me at Old Abe.
You can actually play HLL? I bought it and installed it, spent 30 minutes trying to get into a game lobby, and then refunded it because I couldn't get into any of them.
I remember playing it while blasting the sound on my Creative 5.1 speakers and I tell you, the sound design was FAR ahead of it's time, completely immersive.

My granddad was with the 764th Field Artillery as they beat Shitler's hun horde out of France and through Belgium. He told me stories before he passed, of good men who lived and died in combat. As a young man I never seemed to have the words to express the depth of gratitude I felt towards the men who we left buried over there, but I always thought I could do right by them if I were to study the actions that claimed their lives, and playing videogames like the old Call of Duty games helped me piece the war together. Carentan, Kasserine, Arnhem, and the Falaise Pocket are battles I've since studied as a historical scholar, but that fire was first lit by the characters Private Huxley and Corporal Dixon in Call of Duty 3. Those early developers honored the memory of our war dead, I think. These modern studios, whether from DEI hires or other sources, have broken faith from that course and seem to take every opportunity to wipe their ass with the flags of our fathers. I'll never buy another EA title so long as I live, as a protest to honor the memory of my late grandfather and his friends. Thank you for this video.

Man I used to play this game all the time as a kid. Never really touched the multiplayer. But then I heard they made older games that were on the Xbox. And they had splitscreen multiplayer. It was awesome because you both controlled squads and brought a really unique gameplay loop
COD games in my opinion were great up until 2014. The games after that just did not feel that good. COD WWII, MW19 and BO Cold War were the only good games during that time period.

Great analysis. I loved that game and its depth of tactics. I also loved Hidden and Dangerous 2. Even though it was a bit heavy on controls, it was also amazing and very unforgiving. Playing as SAS soldiers and missions inspired by real missions during the war, you also control a squad. I am surprised no one ever made a 3. The depth of tactics in that game was stunning
I played this as a young man and thought it was brilliant, cutting edge and different. I like “hell let loose” now, it reminds me of this game in its own way.
This game was pure ptsd authentic experience. The gore was brutal and I remember this game kinda changed the way I saw war as this epic thing. This game showed kids that war is hell.

Hey Andy, don't know if you're gonna see this but I wanna give some advice. If you want to be taken more seriously and get a higher amount of people to watch and respect you, you might wanna start using some different vocabulary. You make good points, but saying "woke mob" makes it sound like you're just using Ad Hominin to dismiss them entirely. You have great points, but you need to work on your framing
I really love you telling people and showing people about deez old games. I really love brothers in arms games they should do one in the pacific ww2 but they won’t 😢. You should talk about two another brothers in arms games tell people what different. Keep up the good work
2004's Full Spectrum Warrior based on the Iraq/Afgan war was also squad based but you didn't get to personally shoot in first person, which was kind of solo heroics/FPS action in Brother in Arms, instead it was third person so it was incredibly important to setup your squads to get into cover, provide covering fire and flank with another squad to take out the enemy. It was more like a puzzle game than an action game. It was also very punishing like real life, if your squad ran out of cover without the enemy pinned they would get shot and killed immediately. If you took too long your guys ran out of ammo and squad members could start getting hit behind cover. They really don't make games like this anymore.

Metro is my favorite solo fps series. It is fun, scary and very intense and bloody. It’s so good
Metro is the shit. The redux versions should've kept some old things from the base game like bayonets

I was 8 years old when I played Brothers In Arms Hell's Highway and I almost forgot about it entirely until I saw this video
I remember playing it for the first time as my grandfather watched me and was just as stoked as I was
Him telling me about how when he was deployed in Germany he actually used one of the guns my character was holding
(it was a grease gun) and him ranting about all of the cool guns I picked up and how he used them during the war
It was definitely a core memory that I will never forget
(I also remember stumbling upon the cat gun)
Bro thats so cool
😂 just started my annual playthrough of the series while I do my annual rewatch of Band of Brothers with my Dad.
There’s no scenario where this series is forgotten in my household. This is peak computer gaming as far as I’m concerned.
Also worth mentioning is the “Full Spectrum Warrior” games. Basically a 3rd person version of BIA.
Not to mention the memorable camera shots this game will give you during battle
I GOT A BORDERLANDS 4 COMMERCIAL IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS ROFLMAO, RIGHT AT THE POINT WHEN YOU STARTED ABOUT GEARBOX AND RANDY
I got a kingdom come deliverance 2 ad😮

As a Finn, we aren't useless, we brough the plague of phone gaming with nokia, angry birds and even taught that to other countries, with our whale seminars...
But that greed costed us our independance (EU,NATO, no money or people borders), as we are the most happy fucking nation in the world.
So, come and camp everywhere you want, it's not a community private owned beach or anything and why don't you throw some trash on the ground while you are at it.
It's fine.
Sweden is gay outside and before gaming too, except somehow the hockey team, unless they win the cup.
Finland seems more based to me than sweden. Is it?
@@andypantsgaming Used to be, most people here are "sleeping", I would say it's the same feminism+ shit, but not so "amped", cause we have so few people here, small cities, so spread out and our country motto is "why speak, unless you are drunk", you never can tell.
EDIT: So if you ever wondered why finnish people talk like they do... we don't, but give us a bottle and the stories start.
In this "generation terms" we would be the selfcringe capital of the world, so it's pretty easy to talk over us and so you never can tell there either, cause we have lost two things, our sense of humor (which is gay now, no bite) and our fight, even when we have a word that can't be translated "sisu", which means "mind over matter, no mattter what your mind says".
@@MarkoJuhaniMussalo I'll never forget that 80 years ago the Finns took everything the Soviet Army could throw at them and didn't back down One. Damn. Step. They fought them so hard and held them off so well Stalin killed all his commanders.
They lost that war when Stalin came back with half his army, but that's what it took to crush the Finns.
First thing I think of when I think of the Finns.
Trust me it’s only central Sweden that’s full of gays.

The very first FPS game I owned was Medal of Honor Allied Assault. It still is one of the best WW2 games I've played. I played Medal of Honor Spearhead, Breakthrough, and Pacific Assault after that. I picked up the OG Call of Duty 1 and 2 as well. Those old WW2 games were great.
The dumbest shit is how, the Companies are like: "Why is no one playing our game?"
It was originally developed alongside the army as a simple squad simulator. They made it into a game after.
Grew up on Medal Of Honor and Medal Of Honor Frontline. Those games single handedly established my passion for WW2 history.
I appreciate the brutal honesty
You earned a subscriber 😄👍
The only thing better than playing HLL is the voice chat on HLL.
You can actually play HLL? I bought it and installed it, spent 30 minutes trying to get into a game lobby, and then refunded it because I couldn't get into any of them.
@@cavalieroutdoors6036 The game is highly worth the trouble.
I remember playing it while blasting the sound on my Creative 5.1 speakers and I tell you, the sound design was FAR ahead of it's time, completely immersive.
Fantastic game, fantastic story, fantastic graphics, incredibly memorable.
COD2 was peak "you are a grunt in WWII, life is cheap" and I LOVED it
I really hope UA-cam wont take this video down or shadow ban you from feed or some shit.
Great video keep it up!
@1:25 “Gay of Duty” 😂😂
Absolutely love the content! It’s such a breath of fresh air. Stay strong brother 😎
Guys just imagine a new game like Brothers in arms Hell's highway but in the future called terminator Skynet invasion you have to choose different T models for a unit T-800,T-70,T-600,T-20,T-400,T-500? The strategy will be insane you use T-20 repair unit or T-800 infiltrations unit, T-400 close quarters combat unit or T-500 defensive unit.
Love your videos bro. Man, am now 36 years old and feel like I don't fit with any social circles. I just go to work and hang out with my girl. I am okay with this, but it is also weird. I feel like if I hang out with my coworkers long enough I may say something that offends them or I may have to sit there and tolerate some of the BS they bring up. I am oversharing a bit, but my main point is that I appreciate your videos dude. keep it up!
the thing is that because of how busy people are, generally, they just like to turn their brain off and play some CoD
Brothers In Arms requires actual thinking, which most people don't want to do these days when it comes to entertainment
Imagine still thinking that we won the war.
"muh germans are bwaaaad!!!! "
Republic Commando is another game where you have to fight and instruct your squad mates to take position, at the same time.
I still replay these ww2 games all the time especially medal of honor allied assault,.always liked it more than cod 1/2 , its authentic as fuck.
Honestly, these days the Valkyria Chronicles games feel like a more faithful depiction of WW2 than what we've been getting of late
Yo, finally someone with the balls to talk about why we need manly games lmao. Btw Andy, you ever play Sleeping Dogs? Def a hidden gem that is a manly game with a really cool protagonist and interesting story. I 100% recommend it.
Thanks! just bought the whole series because of this video!
I miss tactical shooters with great SP like Socom, Vietchong, conflict serious, Swat and old school Tom Clancy games.
Brothers In Arms Road to Hill 30 was so accurate to what happened to the 504th PIR that the HISTORY CHANNEL used the gameplay as a background for a show talking about the Normandy landings.
I miss this series, so glad it did not become "Inglorious Bastards: the game".
fun fact, the Germans where actually the first to fight the rainbow mafia
I don't sub to many gaming/movie channels, but you've earned it. 100% correct, my fren.
bro mentioned full spectrum warriors, bro is a gigachad
Damn 108k subs! I remember when u were chilling at 5k. Congrats bro 👏 well deserved.
He said all the right words and wasn’t afraid of the rainbow GOOP squad sliming in with their autistic word salad. His channel is a breath of fresh air so desperately needed. I could see him at 1M one day if he keeps not giving AF.
I'm more into stealth, so I really like the Sniper Elite games (aside of Metal Gear, Splinter Cell, Hitman, the first 5 Assassin's Creed, Dishonored, etc). Also, Spain made the blasphemous games (putting aside the government).
I remember when my history teacher in school actually recommended Medal of Honor Rising Sun, when we were studying about Pearl Harbor because of the realism of the opening mission....That was such a good time in gaming.
Just want to point out, unfortunately Turkey and Azerbaijan are NOT Christ-pilled countries.
ok so I stumbled upon your video and i have got to say i can't in good conscience close the tab without subscribing to your channel and leaving a like.
actual facts about Sweden. I literally spend 3 months early this year over there.

the most craziest PTSD, underrated, Masculine, game I ever played was, SPEC OPS: THE LINE on the PS3
also, never forget about COD2 and MOHAA guys, those were the games that set the standard and are parts of many childhoods
I'll call a WW2 game honest when it portrays the lead up and cause of WW2 accurately. Or how America's president took payment to drag America into WW2 despite no American wanting it
America saved your ass bud
Shut up whining. Who is gonna buy a ww2 game with a 2 hour intro of politicians fucking up a load of meetings with Hitler ffs?
@@andypantsgamingAmerica had no business being in WW2 all it did was cost us lives, 96% of Americans wanted nothing to do with WW2 as Germany wanted nothing to do with us, Japan only attacked us because we blockaded them and cut supplies off.
Oy gevalt quit noticing!
@@andypantsgaming I'd prefer the American lives not be lost especially for no gain. Especially since no one who got paid to take us in to war actually had to fight it
There was not a single benefit to the American people for taking part in ww2
You are my new favourite UA-cam channel. No nonsense. Not afraid to offend the wokies! Love your direct approach!
my ancestors were from Sweden and it pisses me off to see a country once made of Vikings turn into whatever it is today.
Brother, I salute you! Greatest game of squad combat single player experience! I loved it! Story was so epic and emotional!
There was definitely time when the market was completely over saturated with WW2 games, so this game was already fighting uphill. Remember when COD 4 Modern Warfare came out, and then Treyarch went back to WW2. Nobody wanted that shit.
"I'm gonna name a game most of you never heard of" then names a game from what was, at the time, a decently successful franchise that most people knew about
0:58 NOOOOOOO MINECRAFT IS GONE!!!!!!!!
You just reminded me all the CoD and MoH games I played at weekends. Those were the days. I guess Single Player mode was more fun back them.
Everything you are complaining about is the direct result of Germany losing.
Hate to say it,but I've wondered about this too.
Good guys lost WW2, it's pretty evident by now
Great analysis.
Yo what's the game at 0:08?

Darude Sandstorm
Battlefield 3 I think?

I like “hell let loose” now, it reminds me of this game in its own way.

This game was pure ptsd authentic experience. The gore was brutal and I remember this game kinda changed the way I saw war as this epic thing. This game showed kids that war is hell.
0:19 Wait hold on, women DID see action in the western front, but they weren't americans, they were mostly Russian, ya'll should look at all the women awarded "Hero of the soviet union", there's even a wiki article about them.
Russians and the USSR fought on the Eastern Front, not the West. While there were female combatants on the Western Front, they were in resistance groups, and weren't part of a uniformed army, nor were they frontline troops.
@@detiderrickkafui1033 Oh right, I confused the fronts (english is not my first language). You're right, but women did see action in the front lines.
And incredibly small % compared to the millions of men who died and fought on the front line.
Man I love your videos. Straight talk and no political correct sanitized speech.
Pure facts.
I missed checking out Brothers in Arms in the old days. I’ll definitely check it out now cause I prefer the slower more tactical gameplay instead the bunny hopping Call of Gaylords.
I think I skipped Brothers in Arms cause I always thought it’s just about British Army and I was not interested in that.
Nobody takes you seriously bud
Hidden and Dangerous II was probably the best WWII FPS I ever played, definitely worth taking a look at on Steam.
Becoming a big fan of the channel us straight conservative dudes gotta stick together. Stay strong boys.
Imnso glad to see a based channel exploding in popularity so quickly. Love the channel, love the content, W takes all day long. Quality.
