I love watching all races over the national fences from 70s 80s and 90s Sadly the fences are no longer a test of jumping and the national has been devalued for about the past 20 yrs or so...but on a different matter and i stand to be corrected but i wonder if this was the 1st time that the fence after Beechers was referred to as the "Foinavon" fence as Jim McGrath described it in this race i never heard Julian Wilson describe it as such it was always the 7th or 23rd fence
Marvellous. However, when you see the figure of a fallen rider remain motionless AND UNTENDED three fences in the rear of the screen you wonder what the hell the medical services were doing! How many injuries could have be lessened if this did not happen time after time. Let’s trust this is not the case now?

Nos Na Gaoithe pronounced two different ways here and I think in another race he was pronounced a third way.
