- See the breakfast options on a Cunard cruise, including room service menus and what the buffet & main dining room food were like. These were from our June 2022 Transatlantic cruise aboard the Queen Mary 2 ocean liner.
Overall we thought the breakfast food quality was excellent at both the King's Court buffet & the Brittania main dining room restaurant. There were many gluten-free options as well. The omelet was the best we've had on a cruise ship!

Especially like the fact that you show each individual daily printed menu and show each individual dish sitting on the table. That alone makes your food review videos far superior to the other ones out there on UA-cam !! I’m traveling this summer on QM2 (Transatlantic both directions ) with 12 days in London between voyages. This will be my first time on QM2 and is a lifetime dream of mine !!! The food of course is one of the highlights I’m looking forward to experiencing. Your great videos make me so excited and looking forward to the trip !! Your family is charming and fun! Their egg Benedict is really the best. We wake up early every morning just because we want to have the egg Benedict at the main dining restaurant.

Those poached eggs looked absolutely perfect. Also I love Kippers and smoked Haddock and I agree the Kippers are always far saltier but..... that's the attraction.

I was on this ship for the July 4th cruise, shortly after this video was posted. The food was all fantastic, but they can't seem to do an over-medium egg at all. Maybe it's an American only thing? Both of the over-medium eggs I got were basically hard boiled in the shape of an over-medium. Small gripe though. Can't wait for my next QM2 cruise!

Great review! I have read all the complaints and people moaning about Cunard food, and having sailed on Cunard many times, I have never had any problems with the food, and indeed some has been the best I have had. I am a big Eggs Benedict fan, and judge an establishments quality on how good theirs is, and Cunard Eggs Benedict has never disappointed me either in the dining room or on room service. (Although it is not an option on the card, if you write it on the card, they will bring it for you too!)

Best croissants - very addictive. Their oatmeal is also good and it's good to see crisp bacon on a ship. They do breakfast well.
For sure- the breakfast buffet was high quality. They have the best omelet too.

Hi Joann and David, how nice that must have been the transatlantic cruise. We had our 10 night Celebrity Summit cruise to Bermuda and Charleston SC the beginning of June. One day less in Bermuda due to Tropical Storm Alex heading directly towards Bermuda gave us one extra day, three total, in Charleston. But the 30 ft waves and 50 mph winds made for exciting times. Next cruise is the December 11 night southern Caribbean. Hi from Bob and Jill in Connecticut
Hi Bob & Jill- sorry to hear about the rough weather on your Bermuda cruise. Hopefully you still had a great time on the Summit and the days you had in Bermuda & Charleston. At least you had way more ports than our QM2 cruise. We did go on a 11 day Norwegian Star Iceland cruise right after that which was pretty amazing. 11 night Southern Caribbean sounds warm & exciting! Another great video It looks like a great cruise for 2025 as we just booked two cruises for February 2023 and 2024 will be our dream trip to Singapore and the Philippines. I thought that the food looked a lot better than RCCL.

The ship is beautiful and has an elegant feel to it. Their food looked amazing and fancy….even the breakfast selections. I’m not a breakfast eater but would eat some of their delicious looking breakfast items, especially in the main dining (would definitely order the avocado & egg toast). I’m intrigued by how the chef went on extra mile to put the omelet into the oven after cooking it on the stove. And you said it was the best omelet you had at sea…. wondering if that is the secret for a phenomenal omelet(?) However, I’m wondering if they would still do that if it gets really busy at the buffet and there are long lines to the omelet stations🤔

Yeah the quality was very good. They finished the omelet in a separate oven which we've never seen before in another cruise line, and that could be the secret in it being so tasty 😋. Thanks so much for your comment! 😊
QM2 is poorly designed inside. There's no flow to it. The grills deck is virtually a thoroughfare for everyone else.
We just returned from a two week Cunard cruise on the Queen Mary 2, which was our seventh Cunard cruise. The food has gotten worse and worse, not so much the quantity, but the quality. This last cruise was by far the worst and the first time we've been unable to eat several selections from the dinner menu. (Also our waiter was overworked and overwhelmed.) Our first cruise on the QE2, many years ago, was such a very different experience with every meal delicious. This last cruise was such a disappointment!

I never manage to get my poached eggs as good as that shown in the Eggs Benedict breakfast. What's the secret? The Cunard breakfasts are the main reason why I would consider sailing to America! The most exciting sea crossing I've experienced was the car ferry from Ostend to Dover. However, the freshly prepared Belgian french fries on board were really good. I say "were", because the ferry service out of Ostend ceased years ago.
I guess we got lucky? But in general we had really good eggs on the QM2. Those Belgian fries sound good. 😋 Thanks for sharing!

I don’t know if I could get used to eating fish at breakfast. I think I’d have ordered the full English breakfast, but I didn’t see any fried bread. And you can have your black pudding. No thanks. Broiled tomato, mushrooms and beans are fine though.
You had all these different plates for just one breakfast??? My goodness!! You can eat girl!!! Good God!!! Pigging at its best!!!

Kindly let us know what is the difference between break fast and meals having in Dinning room or Buffet ?? Both are free or charges already included in Fare ???
Yup both are included in your cruise fare- no extra charge. At the buffet you would take a plate and then they would scoop the food you'd like, and you can sit where ever you'd like. At the main dining room a waiter comes & takes your order from the menu, and brings the dishes to you. If you are in a hurry, it is usually faster to eat at the buffet.
Can you eat in the buffet for dinner?

I'd honestly thought that the Cunard brand would of had a better food selection in the buffet. This breakfast was identical as served on RCCL.
Thanks for your comment! Yeah Royal actually has a better selection, but we actually think the quality here is a tad better on certain dishes.

They do, but they does cost extra unless you have a beverage package.
Compare the breakfast buffet in the Britannia Room as opposed to the King's Court. Whilst the meals in the Britannia Room is included in the price which is evident by the skungy breakfast, the Kings Court is not included in the passenger fare. It costs a packet and is still skungy. Cunard, you have gone down the cludgie. Other Shipping lines I have said on including P & O, the meals are sumptuous and does not cost an arm and a leg. Keep this up Cunard and you will soon be sailing into history.

Great selection...but this has to be the most awkward music fit I've heard in a very long time. Found it off-putting.
All the Cunard food looks like a cheap Las Vegas buffet. I really expected they’d serve gourmet food.

The ship is getting old... Just came back from 16 days Cunard. It degraded a lot. food quality and quantity BAD. especially at the Lido. Super short handed. It is at the Carnival cruise style. No dance host, no queens room Hostess, no professional dancer exhibition, etc. will not recommand for this price ( we are diamond on Cunard, not a newbe)

I don't think manufacturer will give customer their company labels when the product repacking are done by the customer, not the manufacturer. 1:48. That's why. But look at the bucket for margerines. I've never seen such shameful waste of food.
