I see only one month now.
Also I hear a lot about the suspensions from Etsy kind afraid they being unfair with the seller.
Shopify sounds like a better site for someone with an established business that now wants another site to sell on and can bring business too
Absolutely! You can still start on Shopify but it will be harder to build a customer base.

Well I am using both to sell my artwork. I have only made sales on Etsy and my website has not had one sale...just a bunch of bots signing up on my email list. So i'm actually thinking about doing Etsy Plus and making my website that way. If I can get eyes on my artwork I can sell it...shopify does not push your website so it's hard to sell.

i know online shopify is adjusting local taxes. is etsy doing the same? i have international customers that are interested in my products but im terrified of taxes

Yes you could have both. You can’t necessarily link the shops but you could include your website link in your Etsy shop About Section and vice versa
Once you are established on etsy is it wise to switch over to shopify? And would it be easy transition?
Some people do and some do both! Shopify’s initial setup will take more time because it has more customization options but once it’s done, it’s done! If things are going well for you on Etsy, I’d say keep both for a while!
Hi guys, overall i think shopify better but one detail is stopping me decide which platform should start selling, so when customer goes to etsy, they know, its a big corporation and no chance of getting scammed and buys freely, but when you have shopify, customer goes to random website, dont know its scam or not. Isnt it big dealbreaker?
Having a professional and official looking website (which Shopify can help you build with their templates), as well as reviews for social proof, can really help ensure your shoppers feel safe.

With Etsy your store can get suspended anytime and with no clear reasons. Plus you can't build a long term business because you always depend on Etsy.

As far as long term growth… this is why it’s so important to build an email list, so that for those wanting long term growth, they can eventually have their own website through a platform like Shopify and direct their email list there

i m sorry but as someone with some IT knowledge comparing these two is like comparing apples and tennis shoes...etsy is a marketplace like ebay or amazon and shopify is a website building service....shopify is your actual website that you can pay a designer to build for you whereas etsy is a marketplace...you can sell through both but thats where the similarities end...i m not sure you understand it youself to even compare
