One insight I realized as Joe described enjoying baseball with his kids: there is a communal aspect to enjoying God and his gifts. Also shown in the verse... "He richly provides us (communally and individually) with everything to enjoy". Amazing!
All these tensions and categories are only necessary because of christian hedonism. The moment you start to "over rationalize" on a glass of limonade you are fabricating emotions and feelings, forcing a transformation that only comes by the Holy Spirit through the means of grace.
